The world is ending and you turn on the radio//a playlist

Ойын-сауық

Sorry about not posting a video last week, this video got blocked for copyright. So please know, this video is just for entertainment purposes and I don't own any of the songs or the picture.
Not sure why but I been recently in the mood for older music or music with a bit of a eery vibe to it. Makes me imagine a scene where a character watches an atom bomb flying towards their city as they sit on the roof of their house and watch.!(sound warning for 20:53-23:30)!

Alternatively: The world had been announced to die in two hours. That had been an hour and fifty minutes ago. The final minute was almost eerily silent as everyone held their breath. No one spoke a word as the deadline approached and left. No one died. No one except his world. The girl he loved had died in his arms from a deadly disease. Her last words were a promise that they would meet again. A deadly promise, for not a minute later, he died from a deadly poison he had ingested.

POV: You stand in the old subway station that's been here since you can remember, everyone around you locked in on their phones. A soft gust of wind rakes through your hair as the subway approaches, soon coming to a stop as its doors open with the slick 'swoosh' noise you've grown oh-so familiar with. It seemed like a normal day as the passengers around you gathered into the cramped vehicle; you quickly followed suit. As the vehicle starts to move, you find a place in a slightly stained dinghy seat, setting your bag in your lap, your tired eyes following the lights as they sped past you out the window. You'd have to get another cup of coffee when you got off. A warm light suddenly fills the subway as goosebumps run your skin with concern. You look towards the direction of the light, watching as it quickly becomes brighter, nearly blinding. You'd have screamed in agony and horror if it weren't for the sudden heat that engrossed your body, your field of vision filling with a pure white. You felt a rumbling beneath you, your hearing shot with an intense ringing that lasted for forever. After what felt like a century, but was most likely only a few seconds... silence. Nothing. You didn't feel anything. You didn't hear anything. You didn't see anything. Nothing.

POV: Sitting in your bunker, knee’s to you chest as you quietly hum to your radio. You begin to cry remembering your family, your best friend, your lover, your pets. Everyone is gone. You’re alone, truly alone. They all starved or were caught weeks ago. You’re hiding out in the waste. The _____ moved on days ago. Never have finding you in your hide out miraculously. And you wonder, why you? Why of all people did you have to live? You could die, but what’s the point now? Is there anything beyond? If so would your friends want you to live? You sigh as you lean your head back against the wooden boards of the wall. You’re inside a radio station, empty, like every other building in this lifeless place. You want to talk to someone. But no one’s here anymore. And leaving to find others risks finding the ______ and dying too. There’s no reason to leave anyways. The markets are still filled with food, and there’s plenty of water. Really, moving on just means forgetting them. Those you loved. You wish you’d said you loved them, all of them, from your pets to your friends to your family. One last time. The tears build up again in your eyes as you choke back a sob. Why you? It’s all you can think. Why of all people in this town was it you who lived? You choke back a sob, that’s all it felt like you could do anymore. Find supplies, sleep, and cry your eyes out. You wished you could just be numb. Not die, just not be in pain. With so much time alone all you could do was feel. Stumbling up to a standing position. Walking out from behind the desk, looking out the nearby window. Three stories up, looking out on barren streets. You used to stare in awe at these streets before the incident. Noting how surreal it felt, knowing people were around but none were out in the moment. Then someone would always exit a store just a second later. But no one was going to exit now. You wait, almost in suspense, hope still lingering that someone would. But in the back of your mind you knew better. So you turn, walking back to the radio, turning it up and taking it off the desk. Sliding it into your backpack, taking the metal baseball bat out and replacing it with the radio. slinging the bag over your shoulder and walking out of the studio. Walking slowly in pace with the music. No need to rush anymore, you were the only one you had to worry about. You descend the staircase. Walking both dusty flights of stairs down to the bottom level, exiting out the fire exit. The gentle cool wind of fall brushing past you as you walk out onto the street. Heading across town to your little personal project you’d been building. The whole town was yours now. And so as you head back towards your project, you imagine how you’d add onto it today. A small tiny burst of joy shooting through your stomach as you imagined it. Excited of the prospect of finishing it soon. You had one thing to live for, leaving something behind to be found by those who eventually came back. You’d make sure they knew what happened, you’d make sure they knew one person lived. They’d know a part of your story. You were here for a reason, and you decided that it was for people to know the real story. Even if it was in a month or thousands of years. The story would stay. Your project made sure of it. Thank you for reading my humble story, and hopefully none of us ever experience this. Drink some water, get some sleep tonight. And tell someone you care about that you love them, even if it’s just your pet. Do the things you enjoy, and enjoy the small things. Life is beautiful, even at your lowest. The wind listens, the flowers brighten your day, the trees comfort you, and the birds sing their love for you. Stop for a second, and just take in the moment. Good luck lovelies, you’re worth it. I promise.

Bro this is some crazy stuff, i cant even imagine being alone, but imagine on the verge of dying in the waste, you see a figure sprinting towards you in the distance, its not an alien, animal or zombie, its a person, a person you know, the person youve been friends with, knowing they survived makes you overcome with joy as you stand up with low energy, hugging them tight as you break up into tears. knowing that you are not alone, you follow them to a nearby station, which has foods and alot of snacks, it has running water and electricity, you look around the room to find another person, not one, but 2, you gaze at them only to see that they are also close friends, together you build underground bunkers for survivors to get them clean of the waste and rot, years later, its like a whole new life, you also find alot of pets, noone is mean to anyone, its a whole new life, waiting to be lived to the fullest. (Good ending ig)

I’m going to write something a bit different. This story is called *Radio Host* You place a record down, the CDs to be used later. For now you wanted this vintage sound. Adjusting the knobs you put on your headphones, leaning into the microphone. “Good evening my loyal listeners. I do hope this broadcast finds you well this evening. As a treat for surviving another day we have some songs to guide you through the times.” The needle fell into the grooves and the sweet music started to play, the comforting melody of I don’t Want to set the World on Fire playing. You leaned back in your chair, a soft smile as you listened. This record was a creation of your own making, a loving amalgamation of your CDs’ songs. There were no more streaming services, no more internet. For all you knew the radio was one of the last things standing. At least your radio. Yes, up in your tower you were safe from the lumbering abominations that now roamed the earth’s surface. Your tower was fortified and the monsters had difficulty climbing. Over the years you had made your tower sustainable, salvaging, pillaging, and gaining help from travelers who could never stay. But now you were safe with a rain collector, solar panels, and even a farming area. It wasn’t much but it was enough. Looking up you saw that enough time had passed to make an interruption. Thus you sat back up, gently stopping the record for now. “Well my darlings, that’s certainly a way to start off an evening. Now then, for the rest of tonight I won’t interrupt you any more. However, I have obtained information to share with you all. Some supposed safe havens.” As you continued to speak, relaying this information, you wondered if this was even real. Was there anyone left alive? For years you had been giving out information to supposed safe havens, locations given to you by adventurers and travelers. Yet your visitors who used to be quite frequent had now dwindled to nobody. You could only hope that there were others still out there. That those fortresses still stood. “That’s all for tonight. You stay safe out there. From here on out until tomorrow will just be music. Goodnight.” **You turned back on the record and went outside of your tower, looking over the balcony of that wasteland, the symphony of the damned accompanying your music.

In the face of ruin there is an odd sense of calm. There is a moment of tranquility where you are unsure as to what to do. A moment where you know it’s about to end but your not sure what to do before. This is the moment we find ourselves. The few minutes of peace knowing there is no further need to worry yet not knowing how to spend those moments. A time of goodbyes and acceptance. The moment where you see it coming from the distance and instead of running you wait, because you know you can’t outrun them. Knowing you did everything you could, and knowing you did it correct. It was enough, you did it.

We all sat around the fire- atop the Apartment complex. The three of us had managed to outrun the dead; however all of our ammo was wasted frivolously shortly before we had to go. Jeremy and Ian both were bitten- they share one final drink, reminiscing of times before the fall. As the night progresses; so does the infection. The three share one final embrace and one more shot. I have the job of... dispatching them once they turned. I just shoved them off into the thousands of infected below; they would break through the rest of the apartment building before day broke. I cried a bit before gathering my things and the small remainder of the food and water they had left. I had one magazine of .45 left- which wasn't even fully loaded; only 3 rounds. I chuckle as I remember the time showing Jeremy and Ian it for the first time- though, that was long ago. I smile a bit before shaking my head. I stamp out the fire and walk to the edge of the building- I here the mumbles and groans of the many undead below me... as well as their shining amber eyes, as if they were waiting for their next meal. I sit on the edge and lean forwards- teetering. I pull the radio from my backpack and turn it on- and to my surprise there's a voice- a woman; she must be near. I look around and see a mountain far above the city- I have no idea how I missed it but it seems fortified. Maybe- maybe we can win this. -You walk around the dilapidated building, and you find a notebook; it looks hastily written and you can't help but wonder if he survived. As you read through it you see that it is your grandfather's name printed on the on the first page! You're surprised to find this, seeing as this was over 50 years ago, but it was in several bags. You wander back to the mountain- listening to the radio as you clamber up it. Wondering what managed to save his life all those years ago...

You sit in front of your fire place, the wood crackling gently. You stare blankly at the stone holding in the flames, havoc is being unleashed outside but it's like time is stopped just for you. You have a bowl of ice cream, slowly melting. You take mindless bites of it as you continue to stare into the stone of your fireplace, your frosted windows showcase blurred images of the violence and crimes near your small lawn. The radio starts to cut out for a moment, then goes back to playing normally. Unfortunately, the sound of the soft background music doesn't drown out the noise of drills and screaming coming from outside, but for some reason that doesn't entirely bother you. You continue to numbly eat your ice cream as you reflect on what you did in your life, all of your mistakes, all of your greatest accomplishments, your regrets, the things you always said you were going to do "one day" but now you will never be able too. It finally sinks in what the words "life is short" meant. You start to think about other peoples lives, your parents, your friends, your coworkers/classmates, and slowly you start to think about more distant ones- the costumer/teacher that was rude to you, the girl in front of you in line who was trying to hush her crying baby, the man who made you smile that one day. You feel a feeling of comfort as you realize maybe it's better if your all go together, then that comfort is gone as you here someone crying out in the streets, having just found one of their family members dead. You hear gun shots, crashing, screaming crying, wailing, and you realize that it doesn't matter if the suns exploding or if asteroids come crashing onto the Earth. The worlds was always destined to burn as soon as humans were placed on it, for there greed will forever out way their compassion. The radio starts cutting out again and then it completely turns to static. You don't react, just continue staring into space. A calm feeling of doom covers you, and shortly so does the roof of your house as it crashes down on top of you

“Usually, when my shift drags into the late hours of the night, I work my way through a handful of cigarettes in a few minutes. Yet, I nurse the last of my pack for about five minutes tonight. Got to make em last now, after all. I doubt the corner shop’s gonna get a fresh batch of Virginia Slims after the bombs fell. Taking one final, long drag of it, I savor the flavor for a few seconds and slowly let the smoke drift from my lips. As the grey wisps fade into the chilly night air, I look up into the sky. You know, all of the movies and shows about the end, they never mention how… pretty things would be. Feels a bit morbid to say but, when the city lights go out, you can see so many stars. For maybe the first time in my life, I realize the night sky isn’t black. Or at least, it’s not just black. It’s blue, purple, and dozens of other colors, all dotted with pin pricks of light. We might be gone. Things may have changed. But they didn’t really end. The world, the stars, the universe, just keeps ticking right along. What really changed was just our place in it. I should probably get back in the radio tower. I’ve left the machine on auto pilot for a while. But, I think I’ll stay a bit longer. It’s not like I need to play commercials anymore. I’ll just take in the view. I got time, after all. All the time in the world.”

I’m currently working on a crossover AU with some of my fandoms. The premise is: every world is ending. The borders between universes break, so every single person is in the same area. They form groups based on hierarchy. The top group is the royals. The ones that were royal in their respective universe, an example is the goetias from helluva boss. Then, there’s the nobility, the rich ones, such as Celestia ludenburg from danganronpa. Then, the normal people, this is mostly every other person. Then, the exiled, the people who have been cast out, left to die. As the groups start to devolve, everyone starts forming smaller groups, such as the I.M.Ps, the lucky students, etc etc. The “main” characters of the AU are my helluva boss oc Marcie, and her brother moxxie. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Edit: it’s called Borders.

started listening to this a bit ago. started to write a story and ths is the start how its going!!! :) also, disclaimer, it will have a gay coule in it (i can not do women at all in love stories), so, if you are against pride or anything like that because of your religion or thoughts, you don't need to read this. just warning you all! :3 The End It was a beautiful day. The sun shining bright, birds chirping and singing. Nothing could go wrong on such a sweet and beautiful day. People were walking in the street, their feet clacking on the cement and their loud speaking being oddly calming. The breeze was quite cool and felt nice on the skin. Victor was sitting at a table outside a cafe and drinking a cup of steaming hot coffee. He was enjoying his afternoon, reading a newspaper and just relaxing while he could. He was already in his forties and a university professor. He didn’t have much free time in his life other than vacations. He sat there calmly till she saw a handsome man sitting on a bench nearby. (Its stil very short, but i havent done much or had time to do alot)

“Get up.” A firm voice, followed by a more firm jab to the shoulder, causes Owain to jerk back into consciousness. A face is shoved just a few inches away from his own- one with wide, unforgiving eyes, deadly teeth, and horns with bloodied tips. The smell of fresh blood and satisfaction of hunger rises from Venik, and Owain is suddenly aware that the leader of the Shadows has just made a feast off of some human or another that had no idea it was going to die. The boy struggles to sit up properly, aware of a stench that makes him gag; the stench of vomit that is still unfortunately plastered to the front of his shirt. It has remained since yesterday, evidently because he was not allowed to go anywhere by any of the Shadows, and Venik had stood guard unfailingly outside of the cave the entire day and night, turning his head every time Owain so much as breathed too wrongly. Eventually he had managed to fall asleep on top of the heap of cloth that must’ve substituted for a mattress at one point, but it was a fitful sleep, for every once in a while one of the little Shadows would screech or cry out in the night and he would flinch back into wakefulness, aware with a sinking feeling that That was constantly returning to the minds of the monsters that prowled outside his room and making their thoughts become nothing but blank static. “I have a surprise for you,” Venik sneers, seeming more wickedly giddy than the day before. “Now get up, or I will pick you up myself.” Owain knows that it might sound more comfortable to the average person for Venik to carry him toward the “surprise,” but he also knows that Venik has three sets of arms, and he also knows that Venik would not take care to hold him kindly and probably throw Owain over his shoulder like a bag of sand. So he stands, his legs feeling unsteady and his mind dizzy with the residual stink of his own vomit, and lets Venik push him out of the room to the sight of an empty Shadowfort with fresh patches of bright red blood around the blacktop. He swallows back a fresh wave of bile. This place is disgusting. How can any of the Shadows decide willingly to live here? Clearly, from what he has already seen, Venik does not care about any of them and only uses them for his own twisted purposes. Can’t the Shadows just leave here? Probably not, he thinks morbidly. That is always taking control of their minds, anyway. It won’t let them escape. A sharp pain jabs him in the back and he stumbles, mouth open in a gasp. Spinning around, he finds that Venik is staring at him angrily, frustrated with him for no apparent reason. The creature hisses. “What is wrong with you, boy? Why must you always stand by like a stunned deer?! There is nothing so fascinating to look at here!” Owain rubs the side of his back, wincing, but he says nothing. Venik rolls his eyes. “Whatever. Do not make me regret this, boy.” He takes Owain by the wrist and leads him forcefully out the metal archway of Shadowfort, leaving behind the empty prison yard for later. They travel silently through the Blackwoods, the aura of death and the look of darkness following behind them at all times, until they arrive at a broken city much like the one Owain saw two days before. Many of the buildings have eroded or collapsed into the road, which hasn’t much energy to keep itself together any longer and has also collapsed into a stream of slow-moving grayloch. Chunks of stone and spatters of broken glass move down the stream at a sluggish pace. It seems that the only construction left standing is an enormous, flat, beige structure, which appears, from this angle, to be completely windowless and without purpose. “Ah.” Venik catches sight of it just after Owain does. “There it is.” He leaps down the steep slope lightly, Owain staggering along just behind him, and reaches a gaping hole in the side of the large beige building that may have been a doorway in its time. Owain, however, is not so quick on his feet, and it takes him a significantly longer time to skid and slip down the hill until he stands at Venik’s side, humiliated by his own clumsiness. Red never taught me how to run, he thinks. He only taught me to look for places to hide, and that won’t help me now that I’m… Venik’s glaring stare catches his attention, and Owain hears the Shadow leader’s thoughts echo with hatred and unreasonable dislike for Owain’s own distractedness. But I’m not being distracted! he thinks defensively. I have never been in a place like this before, and there are so many thoughts… The horned creature huffs, fed up. “Go on inside, boy.” He motions one lanky arm to the inward guts of the building. Owain swallows, but he knows that Venik will not bring any harm to him- at least, not for now- because That wants to keep him alive, and he willingly ventures into the building, immediately greeted by rows of shattered windows on either side of him. The hall is dark, the floor tiled, the lights in the ceiling having burnt out years and years ago. Ahead of him the corridor opens up into a wide, circular room with a domed ceiling, letting miniscule bits of light in from above. Speakers, either broken or having not been used for quite some time, inhabit both the floor and the ceiling, some crashed down into the tiles and some still secured tightly by the skylights. An empty water fountain sits sadly in the center of the room, occasionally spitting up a few measly droplets of grayloch from within its dark depths. The boy gazes around for a moment, amazed by the amount of elusive thoughts that dance and twirl, trapped inside of this one room. They are thoughts so old and outdated that they ought to have dissipated by now; but since they have no being to absorb them, to take notice of them, to say them out loud, they have remained, trapped, in here for a time longer than his mind can possibly imagine. Stop it, Owain, he thinks, drawing himself out of his captivated trance. Venik wouldn’t want me to- CRACKLE! A snap of static in the speakers still connected to the ceiling makes him jump. Owain turns wildly, amazed, as an eruption of trumpets and other obsolete instruments sounds from within the speakers, bouncing joyfully around the room and exiting out of the many hallways branching off from it. A second snap of static occurs, followed by a voice, full of passion and vibrato, singing lyrics to a song that he thought he’d never hear again. “We’ll meet again…” A horned silhouette casts a shadow over the struggling scraps of light in the room. Venik stands on a balcony so close to the ceiling that it could be considered invisible, grinning down at Owain with teeth as sharp as steel. How did he get there? Owain wonders, his train of thought being rudely interrupted by the singing voice and its accompanying choir. He was behind me, wasn’t he? In one swift movement, Venik leaps over the banister and lands gracefully on the floor, his feet not making a sound. “Do you know what this place is, boy?” He gazes around again, amber eyes taking in the world, ears listening carefully to the crackling lyrics of the song, and then it suddenly comes to him. “Is this a mall?” A rippling cackle sputters from within Venik’s throat. “Indeed it is. How perceptive of you.” Upon hearing the mocking tone of Venik’s voice, his heart deflates. “Why did you bring me here?” asks Owain, shuffling awkwardly in his vomit-drenched shirt.

The monster-Shadow takes one glance at his top and grimaces, speaking slowly. “Your human ejecta on your shirt, disgusting as it is, caused a stench in Shadowfort, and all of my soldiers were surreptitiously agreeing that they absolutely could not stand it any longer.” His stare is unblinking, and his eyes show nothing of his emotions, if any. “This mall has clothing in it. Clothing for you.” He dismissively tosses his head to the side. “Go. Find yourself something.” Owain’s brows wrinkle in thought. Maybe I can find a way to escape to- “I will be watching you.” Then the creature leaps back up onto the banisters and disappears into the surrounding darkness. The red-headed boy sighs dejectedly, running a hand over his hair in an attempt to smooth his ragged, dirty curls. It might be nice to get a shower here while I’m at it, if Venik will let me stay long enough. It would be much better for him if the Shadows had chosen to make their fort at this mall instead of in the prison yard. Who are they even keeping prisoner…? Besides him, of course. The music, a song that he had learned about at length in history class, continues on behind him as Owain wanders out of the lobby of the mall, heading toward a small room with a burnt-out neon sign that says “clothes.” Now that he thinks about it, he can remember malls- just barely- from his time back before the Takeover, in flashes of memory that he can hardly grasp. Smiles, smells, the sights of people, their laughter, loud music that made him want to dance and skip on his feet, food and delight and two other children marching proudly along beside him, bouncing in their excitement. There had been water- real, clear water!- flowing in destined sprinkles out of a fountain showered with bright green plants, and skylights in the ceiling let in a flow of bright golden light. There were eye-catching signs, pictures of happy families, tame animals on leashes, billboards that showed unreasonable and unused outlooks on the future. To compare his memory with the empty warehouse that this mall has become is to compare the past with the future that it never anticipated. A sudden queasy feeling settles itself within his stomach as he enters the room marked “clothes.” There are racks and racks of colorful cloth set up in rows in front of him, some of them knocked over, some stuck to the ceiling by a sticky black glue. The lights in the low ceiling are desperately flickering, grasping and asking for his attention, and a half-broken mirror sits at the back of the room, looking rather lonely. But these are not the things that have created the nauseous feeling. That nauseous feeling is coming from the thought that he can hear; the thought that, undeniably, is the sound of That having ultimate control over a creature, and he thinks fearfully that there might be a monster-Shadow in this very room just waiting to be discovered. He avoids saying hello, paying absolutely no mind to the racks of clothes around him, and takes a few sullen paces forward, shaking in his thin-soled shoes. However, once he peeks around a shirt with a faded crimson stain on it, he finds that there is no monster-Shadow, no stone Shadow, no living Shadow- not any kind of Shadow. Nothing of the sort, actually. There is a human. Owain takes in a breath of air, thrilled and terrified at the same time. It’s a human! It’s a boy! The boy is trapped against the back wall by an icky black sludge-looking liquid and is held firmly in place. His mouth, eyes, and any other receptors that might warn him of incoming danger are completely closed off by the black adhesive. The only sign of life about him is the ever-so-slow rising and falling of his shoulders, signifying that he is still constantly taking long breaths, and he seems perfectly content with just lying here for the rest of eternity. His thoughts radiate with the feeling of deep, warm comfort that comes from sleep, and Owain finds that he himself is swaying on his feet. How good it would feel to be back in that same kind of sleep, warm and enclosed and unaware of anything and everything… Creak. The noise of squeaking metal springs him back into full consciousness, and his trance is gone. Owain turns his head, but before he can speak or shout or move to protect the boy in front of him, Venik has appeared, moved swiftly around the collapsed racks of clothing, and stands right in front of the sleeping boy, a look of approval and crazed bloodlust in his eyes. “Good work,” he says, his voice a mixture of sarcastic praise and actual appreciation. “I didn’t know you would do so well in finding others of your kind.” What Venik implies immediately comes to him. Before the creature can touch the unconscious boy, Owain sprints in front of him protectively, scared stiff that the Shadow leader will take this unaware innocent back to be feasted on by the other Shadows. Doesn’t he care? Doesn’t he care at all? Venik blinks at him curiously. “You’re certainly brave, boy. Brave and foolish.” Roughly, and without restraint, Venik shoves him out of the way and tears the sleeping boy away from the wall, slinging him over his back like a bag of sand. “The others will surely be happy when I tell them that you helped me find this boy.” Panic seizes Owain’s heart. The sleeping boy’s thoughts are still completely overrun by That’s snug embrace of deep unconsciousness, and he is not at all aware that he will soon be dead. “Don’t!” In a move of foolish desperation, Owain reaches toward the boy, only to be swatted painfully by one of Venik’s many hands. The aforementioned shows his teeth, hissing. “Why must you strive, boy? You know you cannot stop me.” Owain shrivels back at the Shadow’s bristling tone. “Don’t take him,” he pleads pitifully. “Don’t take him back to them!” Venik straightens up. “If you keep complaining, I will kill him and devour him now, in front of you. Is that what you want? Would you like me to end his life?” Horrified, Owain shakes his head rapidly, breathing heavily. “B… but why?” he whispers, mostly to himself, in a confused state of terror. “Why don’t you care?” Venik’s eyes narrow. He gently sets the boy back onto the floor, though he makes sure that Owain is incapable of reaching him. “Should I?” The child doesn’t have an answer for that question. “Tell me, would you care any more about what you ate if you knew that it was alive beforehand? If you saw that it had once lived?” Venik’s eyes, narrowed as they ever were, stare intently at Owain, searching for a real answer. “Would you starve yourself otherwise?” The room is filled with silence. The only thing interrupting them is the quiet crackling of the old song. Venik shakes his head slowly, tired of arguing with someone who never seems to have a justification for his ridiculous actions, and retrieves the sleeping boy from his spot on the floor. “Find yourself something less stained to wear,” he orders. Then he vanishes between the racks of clothing, dragging the boy along with him. Owain feels sick, but no more sick than he has already felt over and over for the past two days. He tries to turn his attention back to searching for something new to wear, gulping down his doubts about his unfortunate circumstances (and about Venik not immediately devouring the unaware boy before taking him back to Shadowfort) and sifting through the clothes hanging along the metal racks. Absent-mindedly, he picks out an old white shirt and gray jacket and wanders out of the room marked “clothes,” searching for somewhere to wash himself off. If only the fountain is how it is in my memories, all fulla water and surrounded by plants. Then I could drink as much of it as I wanted. But that is a wish that will never come true, as upon gazing back at the fountain, he finds that it is just as dried up and filled with sputtering grayloch as it was before, and it is only surrounded by withered shrubs and not living green beings. To his luck, he finally finds another room, this one labeled nothing in particular, with a large plastic ring in the middle that looks like it could’ve been a pool at one point. A hole in the ceiling reveals mold and crusted bits of dirt in the floor with its pale light. As Owain advances further toward the pool-looking circle, he discovers something that looks so glorious and beautiful that it makes him want to cry: water! Real, shimmery, glittering water!

"You'll get used to it, trust me." The sun sets upon a broken landscape, one full of the corpse of a once-great city. now home to renegades and creatures beyond human comprehension. the sight of clouds gently floating by, filling an orange sky with streaks of fluffy white, makes her feel something. she doesn't know how to describe it. but it's... a beautiful, bittersweet feeling. she's half-glad, half-frustrated her new friend can see her oogle at it. a laugh comes from the other woman. "you like the sky, don't you...?" "i mean, i barely ever saw it before i met you. the strongholds are all underground." "the bunkers are called strongholds...?" the redhead chuckles. "yeah. i dunno, fancy unique naming conventions or whatever. it's weird, but fitting." "huh." the sun teases the horizon as the skies slowly but surely dim, and for the first time, she sees what stars are like. it's beautiful. the end of the world, and this raven-haired woman still finds beauty in it. the redhead needs to take lessons from her, she thinks. "i didn't know what i was missing until... this." "it's beautiful, isn't it..?" "more than anything."

POV: You woke up, there's just a vast open desert, unlike the place you fell asleep in. You look around the desert that you have somehow become stranded in, and you see a glimmer of light. As you approach it, you realise that all that is left is a radio, playing it's small selection of songs. It's the only thing to help calm you down, so you decide to take it with you. You begin to travel around, but after what felt like years you come to the realisation. It's all gone. No moon, no life, no buildings. This was the end, and somehow instead of facing the calming death the others had, you are forced to walk through the unending desert, hoping that one day you'll blink, and you can finally be laid to rest.

Everyday I wake up then I break up A man without love I wake up and I break up Everyday I stay up A man without love Everyday I wake up then I break up A man without love Then I cry with my heart. Out! A MAN WITHOUT LOVEEE *music* Why does the sun Go shining Why does the sea Rush to shore Don’t they Know it’s the end of the world Because you don’t love me anymore Why do the birds sing Why do. The stars shine above Why do they not know it’s the end of the world I wake up in the morning Why everything is the same as it was I can’t understand The way life goes Why does my heart Go on beating Why do these eyes of mine cry W why don’t they know it’s the end of the world It stared when you said goodbye Why do the not know it’s the end of the world It’s ended when you said goodbye *happy piano music* *even more lovely music* *I love it!* *More more!* *:)* *I love it!* *enjoy!* *sounds like from the old Mickey* *noglastic times* *this took a long time I hope you enjoyed!* Beyy y’all!

The air sirens and the drinking broadcast voice echoes through the city as the whole place listens with bated breath. "Attention citezens. NUCLEAR BOMB INCOMING. THIS IS NOT A DRILL, REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY." I listen from my shelter miles away and wait. I crank on my radio, hoping for some small semblance of comfkrt. I didn't pack anything to survive, I don't plan to. The velvety song bleeds through my ears as my gaze shots to the window beside me. The crimson sky turns blinding white as the ground shakes from the force of the bomb hitting the earth. The wave of heat Brooks my face and the glass shatters. Tears stream down my face as the music cresendoes. I smile in my last mo.ends of weakness.

You sat in the disgustingly still and barren landscape, days after the last bomb had fallen. Help wasn't coming. Anyone that could help was most likely dead. The scientists said this was what would happen if politicians didn’t work to find a common ground. That humanity was marching along this path so blinded by rage at their fellow humans. God. This was it. Your body hurt, even your bones hurt. Huh. Thats funny considering the radiation was probably turning them to goo by now...at least you had your radio still in tact, and somehow there was still music. Forget music to fall asleep to, this was music to fall into the nuclear void to...

And as the bombs fell he ran to his lover, but she was held in another's embrace. God said it was not meant to be and so God ended it all for me, for I would rather burn the world than face a world without you.
