OMG! ❤ As an Aussie who is a massive JF fan and who hates covers of his songs, I have to say you just killed it! ❤ You are the only singer I’ve heard in the last 35+ years who has had the guts and the vocal power to do the song justice! Your vocal ability, instrumental ability, production ability is beyond phenomenal!!! Your take on our unofficial Aussie anthem hits my heart just as much as John’s does and that is saying something!! Thank you for respecting the song and making it more awesome than it already was. ❤ John needs to hear this….I think he would love it!!! I'm an Aussie and, therefore, an over-protective John Farnham fan (which is the law here). That's a damn hard song to cover. I approve of this cover. Well done Tommy. The arrangement was excellent. Vocally almost nobody can match John Farnham, but you absolutely did justice to this anthem. Others have covered this song and more often than not it fails miserably, but not this cover. I'm impressed.

👋Hi Susan, from Sweden. I was so sad to learn about this a month or so ago. It is difficult to find updates on his journey, and I respect the heck out of him and his family wanting privacy - but do you have any information on his progress from later than September last year? He is truly a gem, and I went to Stockholm to see him in 1989. Fun fact: my boyfriend at the time was a spitting image of your Farnsy, and people stopped and stared when we entered the venue 😅👍.

@@Tassilago there was a press release in January and it stated he was being moved to a rehab hospitals it responding to treatment. He is even joking with hospital staff…we Aussies know we are supporting him and we don’t want to lose another legend the same way we lost Olivia

Of all the different covers of this song....Tommy had me reduced to tears with this performance. Your take on the bagpipe solo was surprising and excellent. John himself would be humbled by this performance. Tommy, you are a superstar. Thank you so much for this, and ALL of your excellent songs.

Agreed. For anyone wanting to cover this song, my advice would be "Please don't". But this... While I don't think it is as good as the original, it is definitely a cover to be proud of. For a song of this caliber, the question is "can you cover this and make it worth listening to, given that people know the original", and he could. He could and he did.

How this affects his ability to employ his wonderful instrument, remains to be seen and everyone wishes him the very best. I hope 'Whispering Jack' himself hears this wonderful tribute.
