The flagship phone market has completely rotted away and is so painful as a tech enthusiast. Such impressive phones voluntarily handicapped by removing hardware features that bring more value to the phone than any changes made in the last 6-7 years in a flagship. No microsd is an immediate non-starter. IR blasters are amazing, i used mine all the time before it became impossible to find them on anything outside the budget category. And the prospect of giving up my headphone jack doesnt have me too delighted

I feel the same way, ir blaster might be cool I've ever used the one on my s5 but the misco sd card is a requirement. While I could buy the 1tb version the cost doesn't make sense when I can pick up a card for $50. I frequently travel for work and often don't have service so being able to load it up with shows, music, and movies is great. It's also great to be move my photos and videos to the SD card as backup incase something happens to the phone. I saw the stylus on the ultra and was sold until I noticed the lack of memory card support. I have a s20 ultra now and other then the stylus it's still perfect

@@seanonraet8327 I live in Canada and I got my rog phone 5 for $800 I'd consider that cheap these days. It has a headphone jack with a DAC for driving high powered headphones, 2 USB c ports, 144hz and I think a 1440p display, 6000mah battery, 2 front firing speaker bars with an "outdoor" boost setting and quick charging at 65w 0 - 85% in like 30 min. If Asus is still keeping the newer "gaming" phones affordable I can't recommend them enough. They've even added a water resistance rating to the rog 6 which prevented people from getting the 5.

There's some extra colors straight from Samsung. I got my Sky Blue S23 ultra ordered yesterday. I am so glad they did away with curved glass. Been a Note user since Note 2. I've actually stuck with a Note 20 that had flat glass for the last couple of years strictly because of how easily the curved edges accidentally got broken. Definitely looking forward to the upgrade.

First video with this host i have seen at LTT. You are nice to listen to, some dry jokes and not too cynical unlike some other recent hosts. More of you please.
i bought the s-view case for my s23 ultra ; i "really" like the case ; the feel of it to me is like the rubberized armor feel like some of the flashlights have ; the pocket on the front flap allows one credit card , drivers license , etc in it and still be able to close the case , i got the standup wireless charger and even in the case , the phone had no problems charging ; the case is some what thick and very sturdy IMO but that brings up the two issues i have with ; #1 -- the two buttons on the side are not adequately thick enough to reach the buttons of the phone so consequently you will need to use a little bit more pressure on them to make contact with the phone buttons ; #2 -- i have no fingernails , the case at the bottom is just thick enough to prevent me from pulling the s-pen out ; i have to use some type of flat edge to get the pen out far enough for my fat little fingers to grab it ; 😄the ultra phone came with a sim key device to open the slot to put your sim card into so that is what i use to get to the s-pen and it fits very nicely into the front flap pocket .
I’d love to see you guys make a more extensive review on it!
I love this guys deeper voice, please host more videos
Absolutely loooooved how the showed and explained everything, he has a nice soothing voice, looking forward to seeing him do more reviews.
Thank you for actually discussing the physical aspects of the phone like the screen and speakers. Much appreciated.
Was waiting for a ShortCircuit review on the s23 series :)
I just ordered a Spigen tough armor for my 23ultra. Looks pretty slick in the dark green.
Good only for those upgrading from the S10. S20 and beyond should wait if the phone is still good. I'll probably upgrade later this year when prices drop and I get a good deal from the S10e to the S22 or S23.
Enjoyed the honesty and the wait to buy until it comes out.
I appreciate more chill host like bell on short circuit
There's not enough improvement over the S22 line, but my S20+ is getting long on the tooth, so I'll probably have to get it anyway. I'll miss having SDHC, and I'll especially miss the ability for Samsung Pay to trick magnetic strip readers at cardholders.
@speedracer2please
Жыл бұрын
I always wanted that magnetic strip trick, and then the first time I bought a Samsung turned out to be the first generation where they removed it 🤦♂ I ended up trading with my wife for her s10e, but so few terminals accept card swiping anymore, I just missed the boat in general.
7:31 I cried laughing, this guy is amazing
the new flatter sides of the ultra, and the shade of green, are awesome. i'd for sure consider this if/when i don't want my fold anymore. way better green shade than my greygreen tbh
If it's like all the other S pens and uses Wacom EMR, the stylus itself can be used without a battery. The battery is just for the wand functionality.
I'm pretty sure all three S23 devices have the 8g2 For Galaxy SoC, not just the Ultra. Samsung themselves are listing it as such on their website, last I checked.

That curved edge looks cool but that's it, it's a pain in every other way, I learned the hard way. Great vid!
Is there any information howuch better the battery is on s23 because my s22 has 2.5 if I am lucky 3h screen on time in one charge
One feature I use is the super slow mo 960fps, they made it worse on the S21 ultra compared to the S9+. Just curious what that features looks like on this new device
The asthetics on the camera modules is nice.
Genuinely funny humor from Bell! I liked it, lil sparkle to the great descriptive and pretty video
Great voice for being a host. Would love to see more videos with ya! Thanks for the upload!
I like this guy. I like his humor and it does not look forced. More of him please.
if labs 'checks it out', would love it benchmarked against the new redmagic phone with active cooling
They could put a secondary speaker on top. It would make it sound way better than using the earpiece.
basic thing you can get it still has 3 cameras.. So phones are just cameras which you can use to call if you need to..
Plese can we get a proper Short Circuit on this? Maybe with some labs testing too?
The fact that flagship phones have less actually useful features than the budget lines is absolutely hilarious. The phone market is so incredibly garbage now and coasting purely on people having the habit of trading in because bigger number means better phone to the masses.
Bell is doing a great job hosting this
7:32 this was great laugh lol
Great video. Loved that moon landing joke 😅
Bell, love your work, would be better if your glass glare issue can be resolved next time.
When is the unboxing/review video coming out ? For the S23 series ?
Ah, I remember when I bought a note 2 back in the day. came with headphones, a charger, and I could easily replace the battery at any time. Was the best.
Just got a 22 ultra in green I love it. As I just upgraded not going to get the 23 series.
The S23 looks so much like the LG G6 - slightly rounded but mostly flat edge, flat face, flat back. And no ridiculous bulky camera bump. Unfortunately the lack of jack is (still) a no-no for me.
Great coverage, Bell!
Moon landing one was great also. Best video I have seen in a while 😊

I've always wondered what the reasoning for doing pixel binning with a 200MP camera is compared to just having a 12MP camera with bigger pixels? Wouldn't the larger pixels give more brightness without having to go through all that processing?

actually that is the studio where they filmed the "moon landing" 😆😄
What is the refresh rate range of the S23 (non + non Ultra)? I've seen 1-120Hz, 10-120Hz, 24-120Hz, 48-120Hz.... I don't know who to believe... the only way to be sure is to have someone with the device enable the "Show Refresh Rate" developer option.
imo for the ultra ditch the s-pen slot use that internal space for a headphone jack and amp for it
Can't wait to see the astro photography mode.
If there's one trait in modern phones that irks me it's the cameras and how much they jut out from the device, especially as exposed little rings like this. I hate cases for phones but these designs necessitate it, if not for protection or just keeping the area between the lenses clean (they collect dust and pocket stuff like crazy) then putting them down on a table and having them wobble about (again, on those lenses) is very annoying. I get it's about maximizing space but I'll take an extra mm of thickness to make them flush again. Hell give a little extra battery as a "compromise" and most people should be thrilled.
I hope in the full video they talk about the battery life and improvements for the 23 series over the 22. If the phone is nearly the same but I get much better battery management, it would be worth it to me. If not, back to ebay to buy an unlocked prior gen again. My S9+ is cooking itself and the battery is shot now. (Well, me working in hot conditions is to blame, probably. But, I'm done with that.) So, I need a new phone that doesn't die in 14 hours. I'd like to use it.
How expensive is an IR Blaster to put on a phone? Its literally just an infrared LED right? And it's so useful (at least for me)
I can't wait to check out the camera because my S22 ultra takes amazing pictures as is !
I was thinking about upgrading from my 22 ultra. But not enough of an upgrade :/
I can't find anywhere that states the variable refresh rate of the S23 does in fact go down to 10Hz, is this correct? I think last year the S22 Ultra was the only one to get LTPO?
Does anyone know of the vibration motor is going to be the same as the s22? I had to return that phone due to not being able to hear or feel any notifications/calls when it was on a table in front of me.

6:55 Unironically I'm almost certain that the s23 ultra is significantly faster than the switch as ridiculous as that sounds, phones have gotten really fast but more importantly the switch is slow as shit.
