iPhones consistently get a 6/10 for repairability from iFixit. Samsung’s phones score 4 and below. Now Apple does have some very anti right to repair policies but overall replacing the two most common things screen and battery are much easier on an iPhone than most phones. Samsung does deserve credit on their wearables such as the Galaxy Buds being very repairable, as AirPods are eventually disposable products as the battery is not replaceable which considering that’s a consumable component is unacceptable.

I actually switched from the note 9 to the S21 Ultra and I am very pleased with it! The battery life is great, the screen is absolutely beautiful and buttery smooth with that 120hz. I actually looked at the difference between the two when I was transferring my stuff over and was like, how can I ever go back to 60hz. This screen has ruined me for lower refresh rates. Lol I enjoyed using the pen on my note 9, but haven't had a time when I was really disappointed that I no longer have it. It was convenient, but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

The battery leaves only a little to be desired, but I play games and watch videos in 1440p and 2160p a lot, so I could see that I'm not the average person for power consumption. The camera is amazing. Just got back from a trip to the zoo and got some amazing pictures. Had a great opportunity to try the night mode there. They have an exhibit full of nocturnal animals and the camera performed beautifully in the dark to get some pictures of those animals. Have had 0 major issues with the phone. One of the only kinks I think they could work on is the keyboard. I switched to Gboard and still see some of the same bugs, so idk. I recently added the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and it helps so much with notifications and keeping an eye on the time. Can't wait for Google assistant to be added as Bixby is still a pain.

When it comes to charging my One+ 7 Pro, I more often than not charge it on a standard QC-spec charger (5v3A, 9v2A, etc) instead of the 30W warp charger that came with it unless I need my phone charged fast. I figure it has to be better for the battery that way. Interesting to see I'm not alone there. As for getting this phone, since One+ is fumbling their ball this is the nicest alternative to the One+ 9 I've found. May well get.

Some thoughts from someone who has had an s21 ultra for a few months now: -i thought I'd miss my s pen. I really don't. It was a novelty to begin with for me. - the battery life is sweeeeeeet. 5k battery ftw - the lack of a physical SD slot isn't really an issue. The phone has a lot of internal memory, and if I'm interested in swapping the photos to another device, there are plenty of free cloud services to use(google, OneDrive). My main complaints were -having to search for the power button. It's not physical anymore unless you mess with the settings. -the "Free" software, which is what pops up when you swipe left on the home screen, is blah. I haven't tried to remove it yet via settings, but I wish it wasn't there. Overall, great phone. If you're an Android user, it doesn't get much better than this at this point in time.

BTW the reason why Samsung has bloat is because Naver is the dominant company in S.Korea, and Google doesn't have a good influence in S.Korea due to national security against N.Korea (hence why no good google maps in S.Korea). They also made Microsoft deal with productivity (including storage service) and Game service stuff. They're trying to step back because they can't be perfect in everything like how Bixby was a hot mess as it doesn't have the man power to deal with it in multiple languages.

The charger they would need to actually ask people but I'll bet they gather device data to know the percentage of users and utilization rate of using headphone jacks and microsd cards. And while I've done both on my S10e I've probably only used the headphone jack a handful of times and the microsd card is basically unnecessary because I still have 40GB free of internal storage. I'm also disappointed but it makes sense to me. So while it is their decision, it's likely based heavily on the users decisions of how they use their phone. Like half the people complaining about the drop to 1080p screens probably never realized their old samsung phone was set to 1080p from the factory.

@@benjaminbordelon8413 This'll be a long comment, but it requires a bit of explanation if you've never seen it before. Basically you press the number keys that are associated with the letters in a contacts name in the dialler using the old t9 system. Where 1 is associated with punctuation, 2 is "abc", 3 is "def", 4 is "ghi" and so on. For example, let's say you have someone called Oliver in your contact list and they're not in your recent call history. You can open the dialler and press 654 and any contact with a name that has a combination of "mno" "jkl" "ghi" in that order will appear in the list, and the more keys you press that fill out the name the more results that will be filtered out until you're left with just the one exact match. It's a super convenient feature if you regularly call a lot of different people and the entry for a person is way down the call history list or you have a lot of contacts to go through to find the one you want. It also works on numbers not saved in your contacts but is in your call history, so if you can remember at least a couple of the digits you can quickly bring it up again.

I wonder about the labeling of the two selfie pictures. I think you have it backwards - already it is extremely hard to tell the difference because the is some coloration difference may be to the lighting. Both pictures are really sharp, but it seems the 10MP is a better picture to me. Then I checked back and saw you held the ultra in your left hand and so yes you did get them switched and the better picture is indeed the 40MP, but not by a whole lot. Then again my eyes are 60 years old....

Not really. Fast chargers still cause faster battery wear. I’ve used a phone with a fast charger (20W) and I’ve had to replace the battery within the year because it was not holding a charge properly and battery was starting to get bloated.

I did buy it via trade in. Had a Note10 Lite swapped for an S21 Ultra 5G. Bought the Note10 Lite last year for around $500 and the appraisal value + discounts went to around $600 and just paid the difference. It's like I sold my old note on a higher value compared to its price last year. S21 Ultra has a clearer screen and better camera compared to the other S21 flagships.
