Intro:
There’s your chronological age, which is how long you’ve been alive for, and what you use for birthday celebrations, but there’s also your biological age, which is how old your body and cells actually are. This reflects your health and can indicate your life-expectancy. But it’s more difficult to determine. Biological age is a measure of how fast you’re aging by taking into account age-related changes and damages that accrue inside your body as you get older. The more changes and damages, the older your biological age. How do we figure out this secret biological age?

    There is also a 3rd age. Mental age is also something that doctors and scientists are beginning to take into account. Rather than just attributing general “stress” to biological aging, mental age looks at psychological reasons for decision making and whether the choices someone makes ages them (as well as how to aid them in slowing it down).

I got a bit balder but my face looks exactly the same as it did with 22. Even my mother couldn't tell which one was from today and which one was from 2013. Only after I showed my hait, she could tell. I still jump out of my bed in the morning, nothing on my body hurts and I'm still interested in new things and exploring them. I recognized that many people around me, which are around my age, won't want to learn new things.

    I'm 27, about to be 28. That 30s joke... Anyway, I feel no older than maybe 22. I like to say I froze my body at that age. When I was 19, my all time highest weight was 260lbs, at 30% body fat. I'm a big guy. I played American football for about 4 years, lifted weights, stayed big, heavy and strong... In all the wrong ways. I felt my body was taking it's toll and I didn't like that feeling, especially at a young age. I made a resolution to live a healthier active lifestyle after experiencing pain and discomfort throughout my body after years of poor choices and bad habits, especially after I had some chest pain scares after high school. Another reason for the resolution was that I would need surgery for my knees that would leave me with a limp for the rest of my life. I felt like I was 50 at 19. At 20, I stayed committed to the gym and fulfilled my New Year's Resolution by self training. 21, I started sticking to healthier food choices, and overall changing the way I eat. (I use to be a glutton, living to eat rather than eating to live. I still am one, but only in the sense in what my body needs and giving it calories *when* it needs it. I love food, I still eat when I'm bored) At 22, my lowest weight was 185lbs at 11% body fat; probably the smallest, and lightest I ever was for myself. But I finally felt myself at my prime. I felt like my body started to reverse it's age and I could move my body in ways that felt free again. My posture was fixed, I was faster, stronger, more agile and flexible than I ever was... My body just feels great all the time and exercise gives me an addicting high. Present day, my lifestyle has not changed. At least not by much. I'm currently hovering at 207lbs, but I am much leaner and stronger than I ever was. I am able to walk on my hands as well as hold myself up with one hand, something I thought I was always going to be too big and heavy to do. This body is the only one I'll ever have and I took it for granted. Through the journey, I've learned to understand it's communication to me. To this day I feel younger the older I get. What I'm getting at is that my body truly does tells me my age. And it's a great feeling. At a certain point you feel which pains are good, bad, and what could be overcame to make you stronger. You may not necessarily reverse the age but you sure can slow it or even halt it for awhile. Why did I share all that? I don't know, but this reflection has gotten me motivated to start my day. I'll leave this here just because.

    I think around the age of 20, when I joined the Israeli army, was the first sign of aging.. It was that I wasn't waking up from sleep full of energy and with enjoyment anymore, at the age of 24 was the 2nd sign, I started to feel weaker physically.. going up the stairs was a bit harder. At the age of 25 was the 3rd sign I was getting older, this one was mental, I felt lost as I was leaving my childish mindset and moving on to more mature thinking. At the age of 27 was the 4th sign, I started to grow white hairs. I'm now at the age of 35, and since the age of 30, the physical and mental changes have been DRAMATIC each passing year, now at the age of 35 I have so many white hairs, I feel my digestive system isn't operating properly, I'm beginning to bold for real, I have a potbelly, I fell more related to "old" people than young, I feel that I lost all innocent and naivety, I have much less nerves for BS and to people who waste my time and I really don't care what people think of me... I just feel that I have crossed that "line" from young to old.. but that's life, right?:)

    I'm so sorry, I have never been in the army, but everything else you have wrote, somehow I felt it too. I'm 36, but I feel like I'm 60 or even older. My dad is 71, but I kinda feel even older than him, because he still doesn't give up hope and is looking for a brighter tomorrow, he seems healthy and full of energy, but I'm not any of these things. The more time passes, the more hope I'm losing, more pain I feel in my body, more stressed I am. Every day at work I feel like a zombie and I'm wondering, do other people my age feel the same as I feel. It sure doesn't seem like it to me. Others seem happy, they are buying houses, raising children, owning dogs and cats and seem to enjoy life, despite being around 36 years old. I don't get them at all. I wish I was more like them. I wish to retire soon from my job. And from everything, really. When I think about that I have 30 years+ left of going to work, I just... I just can't...

  • @kfireven

    @kfireven

    Жыл бұрын

    @@informatikos-pamokos Yeah, life is hard.. for some it's harder for some it's less hard. Personally I don't take them too seriously.. I seek for the most comfortable and stressless life possible. How do I do that? I set limits, I don'y let people get on my nerves, I don't let my boss get me into stress mode. But yes.. work is a huge problem, even if you do what you love, if you do it for 9 hours a day in an office, each day.. it's insane and inhumane in my opinion, it's life wasted.. I share your pain in that regard. Haven't found a solution for that yet.. so know you're very much not alone. I think what I need to do, is what you need to do also, is to "attack" life back, nature is aggressive by its nature, I don't know you but I'll tell you what is my plan - it's to be more "aggressive", not in a bad way, but meaning to meet your goals by much more action. You mentioned buying a house, so I just have bought a house 2 months ago... it's all my savings gone in a second + a mortgage, it's difficult but it's part of me taking much more action and being more active, my next goal is to find a partner for life, I'm going to take this much more seriously now than I have before.. and so on.. I wish you all the best, and just don't let life get on you too much, plan and execute:)

I'm in my 20s but in terms of skills/knowledge I still feel like a teenager because I really don't feel like I know all that I need to know to live a successful adult life. But on the other hand, I feel like I have the mindset of an older adult because I feel nostalgic for the past and don't really get or like how things are now. Like youth culture and all of that. Biologically I haven't really noticed much in the way of aging yet, except I do feel like I have slightly less energy than I had a few years ago. Like I would've been able to pull all nighters relatively easily in the past, but now I can't.

    I already know my biological age is significantly older than my chronological age, probably 20-30+ years older than I actually am. I have a slew of genetic weirdness that all come together to (most likely) SIGNIFICANTLY shorten my lifespan. One of the most prevalent for that being Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which, if and likely, when, my cardiovascular system ends up affected by it, I'm already more than halfway through my life expectancy. I'm only 27. I certainly feel old in the body, seeing as I get dislocations daily that lead to constant pain, as well as other issues, as a result of EDS. The amount of physical stress my body has endured due to this disease has likely cost me a fair bit of my lifespan, if it weren't for the high likelihood my time is already cut short. Guess it won't hurt to keep smoking and drinking if my body's gonna give out before I'm 50, though, right? Oh well.

    I'm so sorry you have that. It sounds extremely painful. But it sounds like you are managing it, despite all the symptoms, I wish you all the best in life. I have two uncles, with muscular dystrophy, the doctors told them they would only live to a certain age, and they lived way past that all the way into their sixties. They achieved what what was thought to be impossible. In my opinion, I think you will live beyond the expected lifespan age of your condition.

    I'm 18 but I honestly don't feel like an adult, and my family still treats me like a teen, though it doesn't bother me, again because I just don't feel like an adult. Though I have applied for a job and am learning how to drive, etc. Though my friends tell me that they spot white hairs on my head and sometimes I question if the number of hairs that fall off when I comb my hair is normal for an 18 year old.

    Am gonna break my age on my emotions, theoretic brain age, and body image- physique. 1- my emotions, I am going to rate it as the lower the number is the more emotional I am and the higher the number is the less emotional I am, from what can I find from taking insults to watching some missed up things and trying to learn more about the human emotions I will give my self a 21 year old emotional response, am more of a thinker than a lover, I put my brain first then my intuitions, but I have learned that for you to manage in life you must be in the middle at most things, as in you must not over eat or under eat, you shouldn't workout for long periods of time and you shouldn't underwork either, so I had to learn how to control my emotions in different aspects, that's why I gave it this young adult like score, don't know how to control it really. 2-my theoretical brain age, I remember when I was at 10th grade my religous teacher gave us a website to see how old is your brain, as in how do you think, and I got a score of around 56 to 63, don't really remember the number, it has been some time since I took the test. 3- my body physique, this is a weird one as in there is no actual age for your body, you could be 69 years old and still have a body physique of an elite gymnast, non the less I digress, I would rate it a 9.1 out of 10, I could go all out and look like a beast, but as I said there must be balance in basically everything. And if you are wandering, I am 16 years of age.

    I started getting grey hair at 25. I'm now 27 and only have 3 that i know of so I'm just waiting for it to explode out like it did to my uncle that had the same thing happen to him. He got a grey crown basically by 33 but my other uncle had almost a full head of grey hair by 24. He is the youngest of my uncles and still looks like he could be in his early 30s outside of having the grey hair. Actually 3 of my uncles from that side of the family got grey hair early in life.

    I feel like I have matured way to quickly for a 17 year old currently. I feel like my body has taken heavy tolls from academic stress, family stress, and more which just hurts the body so much; not even mentioning how disgusting my food habits are right now. I would say that I am definitely around 30 to 40 years old biologically from horrific factors. The worst part is that we have made horrific situations in every place as such a normal thing, most if not all people my age will be like this to some extent already.
