Caecilians have salmon beat in weird ways of taking care of offspring. In some species the mother makes a burrow lays her eggs and stays with them until they hatch , when they do she will start shedding her skin for the babies to eat and she will continue to do this until she dies and thats when the babies leave the burrow. Same principle as what salmon do but much more work.

I was told by my father that they are basically rotting alive while they travel upstream to spawn. But breaking down to make more room for sperm/eggs is much scarier to me.

lenses only focus light hitting at certain angles onto the fovea (a specific place on the back part of your eye (aka the retina) with a high number of light sensing cells (aka cones which sense light colour)). so, anything that doesn't fall onto the fovea isnt in focus.
