Imagine almost being sacrificed to a cultist god by your maid you thought was your friend and then for the rest of your life, every woman you meet looks exactly like her. That would be torture regardless of how pretty she is.

I can’t tell what’s worse - just being sacrificed to it or MERGING with it and losing yourself in it, becoming nothing but Hatred and Malice Incarnate. The Cult was strongly implying that the latter would happen to the Prince if he was properly sacrificed.

Yes definitely, but I think she’s only in on it, I don’t think a seamstress could singlehandedly pull all the strings it has to be someone of high power who has connections like the parents. Like how could they have known to tell everyone that we were on a “hunting trip” or how they were “ ecstatic that we have a new bodyguard” just everything is really sus and I have trust issues with everyone besides the mercenary

The good thing about the mercenary as the bodyguard as opposed to a member of the castle staff is that she is not likely to be a part of whatever political conspiracy is going on. An impartial outsider if you will

I don't know about the rest of you. But I'm pretty sure that my version of the Prince spends his days shut in and angry after being betrayed. Not to mention borderline paranoid. Every phrase seems like a foreshadowing threat of betrayal now. And how he hasn't blown up on the mercenary and her overwhelmingly cavalier attitude is beyond me.
