Wouldn't necessarily call it an "illusion". It's the modern day equivalent of "Gold stars" on the chore board. The more you have, the bigger your reward. I agree with you though, it's a great way to incentivise kids and also teach them about the way things are going.

Amazing video as always, you sort of brushed past the part where you were going to explain how to put a cap on the max supply when you just decided to double the number of coins to 2 Billion, if you could explain this, I'd really appreciate it, thanks anyways.

@whatsAp➕ Gr8 video. I just finished creating a coin for my daughter. So in order for her to send her coins back to me do I need to deposit Sol into her wallet to cover the transaction fees. Or does it come from my wallet. I'm a little confused on that.

Just found your video and it is amazing! I did all the steps up to final step and couldn’t addy token to the repository because it’s been archived. Do you know how I could get around that?

Awesome tutorial! I usually have to speed up tutorial videos to keep from losing attention. Totally not necessary here. Your over caffeinated delivery is perfect for me.

It's essentially the same thing he's doing here in the video creating content that people watch, providing a service that people will use, etc. make your token worth having. Like Chuck said he's planning to do something with his tokens, so if I had to guess it's going to be a paywall concept, so many tokens unlock certain videos, or something like that. He's got the following to be able to do something like that. Bitcoin for example, since it has a finite amount, and nothing anyone can do to mine more than the set amount, that creates value, being able to access it at any point during the day or non-business days instantaneously, that creates value, it's completely outside of the system and cannot be controlled by any one governing body, sure they can try to ban it, but it's decentralized and the only way to ban it is by banning the internet.

I've been tinkering with making my own crypto for that very reason, "a family coin" to reward my son for doing his chores etc. Always ran into errors with the code. Definitely might go through this tutorial.

I have been running non stop into errors and his guide is long gone. Im sure he also gets thousands of comments daily and cant keep up sadly enough. Except for the ol' telegram scam bot here with us. That is not him. Sadly there are scammers everywhere now. I would not shift any Solana at all into the wallet right off the start until all code validates all the way through the setup. Getting support for this little adventure is slim to absolutely none at all. it is a every man for him or herself adventure it seems. Guard your currency.

I finally minted and have my own coin in wallet and ready to roll. However, I am finding out now that the json file thing is different now? Can anyone reading this confirm this? One fellas posted on Git how to get the image and code submitted and all but posted it like we have all been doing this for decades sadly enough. But None the less I thank him for doing it. I made it all that way just to hit a brick wall at a registered coin that remains nameless and imageless now

Very cool! I first tried to create my own token in Ethereum in 2017 but it was too complicated since you had to learn the Solidity language. Now things are so easy with Solana, I'll definitely try.
