Of course I have a web site up and running. On my own Dell server. Who doesn't ? A.I. is a great tool. BUT, what do you learn from allowing a computer to code for you ? Or when your boss sees your site and ask you questions about it. And you stare at him/her with a blank face. They will know real fast, that you didn't do the work on it

I kinda see this unraveling on the web already when I search for things: you have all these articles popping up on unfamiliar websites, which in itself could be "good" for whoever doesn't know that ChatGPT exists, but when you have "similar" articles plastered all over the f'ing search results page - all from no-name websites that did their SEO just a bit better - what have we done with this other than trash the web with AI noise?.. What do you really do when you let AI design, code and write content for your website? Did you learn to construct websites? Did you learn how to design websites? Did you improve your writing skills? Did you contribute anything new to society that comes from your unique perspective and experience?.... no... you didn't do jack sh!t, and other people will recognize that by the common ways that AI writes. If that's the case, then why bother paying for that domain which after that 1st year will cost you much more than $0.99?.. These videos can be really depressing sometimes... :\

A future employer asked me to write a little program. I found a Microsoft sample, modified it to do the job and told him about that. He liked exactly that I knew my way around those samples and could find the right one, so I was hired. If AI can now do websites, why should anyone waste time doing this grunt work? We wrote programs in machine code in the past, but then compilers were invented.

Hey Chuck, I got to thank you for so much of the content you create and share. You inspired me to pursue something I would have never thought of pursuing. Thanks to your videos, I was able to get myself into networking and it all started with the pihole on the raspberry pi, just blocking the ads on my local network. From there I started to get more invested in networking, and eventually self host my on website. Because of that I was able to prove myself to potential employers and managed to land a NOC tech job for an ISP. It has been a lot of fun learning more and more. Thank you Chuck!!! I hope I can inspire others too just the way you did to me.

Interesting explanation on learning at 13:07. I was just reading a study where they tested four groups of students, the ones that RECALLED the information, learned better than the students that read once, read multiple, or took notes. It was the ones that recalled (gave notes), that retained the information the best.

I strongly agree with all of this. If you can have your website and content that you create you’ll be able to get hired more easily and there’s a higher chance that you’ll be more respected in your workplace and get fair obligations

My uncle didn't have website and was making millions. I was making websites and didn't have my own website and I had more customers that I could handle. Not having a website is not a problem when you make loads of money without it.

Hey chuck. Getting into pentesting. How would one start with a pentest for a site like this if it's on someone else's platform like github? Sorry if it's a vague question, just always wondered how it works when someone doesn't host their own servers

If my memory serves me correctly, cant you use a webserver that you build with a specific computer name, i.e. the server name being the name in which you are going to call your website, then give the proper port forwards with a proxy leading straight to that server, this now creates a host name of a server that will be seen on the internet, having your custom domain with the infomration you are looking to publicize. I remember doing it in highschool, but could not remember for the life of me how I did it. I had a hand built pentium quad core with windows server 2012 at the time sitting in the basement of my dads house with the "hackers manifesto" on it and was able to reach it through my schools firewall, at the time which was a fortinet system, I had a way around that as well as I worked closely with the IT guy in that school. I am just thinking there was another way to make a website 100 percent free but it was a little more difficult than just grabbing a domain and making it.

I made a website years ago. I was selling printing equipment. The problem was nobody ever found it. I listed the same stuff on Ebay for 20% extra to cover fees and sent a discount code with every order. But people still bought from Ebay. Then they started leaving me bad feedback for overcharging. I gave up after realising people are morons.

Have two websites so far: one for my business: custom web development and one for my hobby: motorcycle long distance travels. Both custom made and updated to PHP 8.2! Soon, on my hobby website, I'm gonna launch membership functions with three tiers because I don't trust KZread: too restrictive memberships system that can be closed/banned anytime!
