A 16 min video showing it running after assembly would be better. All build up no pay off. Your edits will get better as you do more videos though. So just take the other commenter as constructive.

The Kreg table you recommend is not symmetrical front to back. To get full travel of the fence, the blue track must be positioned in the back, under the red fence.

@@TheCraftyWeiner I'm using the Kreg PRS 2100 table and after taking advantage of the table’s asymmetry, I’m able to get 4” of the 6” possible fence travel. The last paragraph on page 1 of the instructions calls attention to the need for a “shop-built table extension must be added to the back of the typical table” to get the full 6” of fence travel. What model # is your Kreg table?

Thanks for vey clear views of this kit. Heard about the RS1000 a couple of days ago, and it made perfect sense. I want one. However, having previously scratch-built a CNC machine (see my channel) I am not shelling out two grand for one- I shall build it. Actually much simpler than a CNC, but using the same type of parts, it should present no problems. Will write my own software, so not limited to the delivered set. I will base it on g-code, but with parameters entered at run-time; flexible, and an open-source user group could emerge. As soon as I finish my current project, this will get built. For anyone concerned about patents or copyright, in the UK these do not apply to anyone making for their own use. I believe the US is the same...

Update- my scratchbuilt version is now working. Some finishing to do, but functioning. Build cost was ~1/8 the price of the Shark. And I can add my own bespoke apps. It is based on an Arduino Mega, with TFT touch display. First video just published on my channel.

@@TheCraftyWeiner I am too. But I must say, I love my laser. It’s a 10watt diode. Love making projects with it as it would take hours on my scroll saw. Like I used to do. Even make templates for parts tou fit perfect with router table

I agree whole heartedly. Being able to use tech to produce at a more efficient rate doesn’t take the creativity out of the process. It just shifts it in a different direction and allows us to be more creative as well as focus more intently on those old school moments.

What router did you mount in the table. The directions didn't specify that the lift was only for a 3.5" motor router. I'm having none of my 3 routers have 3.5" motors. Having trouble finding/confirming what router to buy.

I'm also very curious how much distance do you have on that table from the center of the bit to the end of the table where you mounted the positioner.

Not enough to get the full 6” advertised travel if you use the Kreg PRS 2100. 4” at most with this table, not sure what table is used in the video.

You know what you are right. I was working on the unit itself on a table so I called it a table. Just mis-spoke. Thanks for noticing! 🤘🏻
