"You Need Some Serious SCHOOLING" FEMALE Cop Gets Completely Wiped Out by a Knowledgeable Man
At the core of this incident is the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech and the press. The right to film or photograph in public spaces is generally protected under this amendment, as established in cases such as Glik v. Cunniffe (2011). In Glik, the First Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed that the right to film government officials, including police officers, in public spaces is a constitutional right. The auditors' actions in filming outside the police headquarters fall squarely within this protected activity.
The Fourth Amendment protects citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures. The auditors’ assertion that the officers had no right to question or detain them for filming hinges on this amendment. If they get a call and are dispatched, yes it's their job to go to that call, however if they immediately see that no criminal activity is happening, then no they don't need to approach or question anyone and especially don't need to escalate the situation by being rude or attempting to violate someone's rights

This probably has been said before, but it bears repeating: In any large city like this, there are certainly many thousands of crimes that are not investigated because the police are too lazy and apathetic to put forth the effort. Meanwhile, the police roll three or four cars to investigate someone with a camera. They will cry and whine about being under-staffed and under-funded but willingly waste massive resources 'investigating' non-crimes. One time, thieves smashed the window of my truck and tore out my stereo. I was a good citizen and called the police. I was told, "If you don't know who did it, there isn't really anything we can do." That is an exact word-for-word quote; no embellishing. They didn't even bother to ask my name or take a report. The next time somebody broke into my truck, they left a screwdriver behind. I called the police. An officer came to the door. He took the screwdriver which I had carefully wrapped in a plastic bag to preserve fingerprints if there were any. Again, he didn't even bother to ask any questions or fill out a report. I am 99.999% certain there was no investigation. They claim anytime they get a call, they are required to investigate. BS. If they get a call from somebody that says their neighbor is driving a Chevy instead of a Ford, are they going to investigate? Of course not. Because it is not against the law to drive a Chevy. Just like it is not against the law to hold a camera.

When that female cop turned left she was on the wrong side of the solid double yellow line. If a cop saw anyone else doing that they would have written up a ticket. Is it possible to write her up a ticket seeing as there is video footage of the infraction as well as blocking the sidewalk for an extended period of time?

The first cop was OK. They certainly have a right to contact someone if they "got a call." The person might say, "we are filming to try to figure out the best way to break in." If they ask what you are doing, you do not have to answer but they have a right to ask.

Some of the auditors need to understand the person that made the phone call on you to the police, regardless how stupid it is to make the call, the police work for them as well. So if someone makes a call on you, they should respond. Now once the cop realizes you are not doing anything wrong, they need to disengage.
