You only scratched the surface of what you can clean out with compressed air. Every month I do the tires, then move on to an assortment of the following: shop vac filter, the filters on the small hand-held vacuum cleaners, the HVAC air filters, the car air filters and cabin filters, my computer's keyboard, the heads of my electric razors, and so much more. I periodically hit the condenser coils on the fridge, the inside of my computer's CPU. Lots of places where you never look are filled with pet hair and dust. You'd be surprised how much fine dust remains even after you shake out rugs and car floor mats. Brooms get filthy too: little dustpans brooms, push brooms, all of it. I gather those together and blast them all. Guitars have several hard-to-reach spots: Under the strings around the tuners, the bridge/trem, the pickups, and also through the hole(s) if you have an acoustic or a hollowbody. A couple times a year I go through the collection and give everything a once-over with air.

Interesting video. I never knew the benefit of an air compressor except for brad nailers. Recently I was looking into putting insecticide into in-wall tubing in my house, and I saw that an air compressor is needed. However, it seemed like an expensive purchase for just one type of use, so I came here looking for additional uses for this kind of tool.

Great vid. Just come by an air compressor with a boat load of tools and your vid helped to get a good overview of what can be achieved. Thought about a nail gun as I have some garden projects coming up. Thanks

I'm getting the air compressor for access to filling tires #1 (Live in hot Nevada, constantly need tire filling), also useful as a blower for stuff in the garage you don't care about getting dirty/blowing dust off the cars (huge problem in Nevada), the wrench is a cool idea for stubborn bolts prolly have one for cheap at harbor freight, I'm interested also in the spray paint attachments since there is a lot of textured walls in the south west for some reason as the go to style, also my car is rusted in places from runoff water/snow since I'm from minnesota so I used bondo to repair the damaged areas on the bottoms and used black plastidip to give my entire car a black border to cover the repairs rather than paying for a new paint job. Sorry for the run on sentences I just got lost in the thought.

What size tank and CFM rating is your compressor? Do you find it adequate for impact tools?

I wondered what the size of your compressor is. I just bought a small one for the garage, 6 gallon capacity.

I bought an air compressor to winterize my lawn system. It was getting to the point where cost of doing one winterizing by a professional was too much compared to just buying a small air compressor. It turns out that I don't need a lot of gallons to winterize my system (8 gallon air compressor for $129). Cost will balance out in 2 winters but I've been looking for other ways to use the air compressor. None so far for me, maybe for a brad nailer when it comes to a big project later in the future.

Fill car and bike tires easily without leaving home or pushing manual pumps. I also use to dust out my servers in my lab.

I own a compressor and... I fill tires with it. Only. Never found a nut I couldn't turn. Blowing filters can also damage them. Shaking filters also cleans them. I use a brush to move sawdust from workbench to floor. (Rather than workbench to the air I'm breathing.) Brads? I might try brads if I had the tool, but I'm not going to spend the money on the longer hose, adapter, and tool when screws and glue work fine.

Would this be useful for getting dead skin and other dirt off of bass strings to make them sound fresh again? Bass strings are now £30+ for a new set.

I think air compressors are becoming less and less useful with the advent of battery powered tools. I have a blower and a drill and that covers most of the use cases you illustrated here. Even nailer or stapler can be powered by batteries and are more reasonably priced considering you'd need to buy a compressor and the tool otherwise.

True, but the cost of battery replacement exceeds the cost of the air compressor and the usage.
