You need a sway bar!

Today I'm installing the Hellwig Sway Bar for an Early Ford Bronco. I didn't really think the sway bar would do much to my handling but WOW was I wrong!
I got this sway bar: tomsoffroad.co...

Do you need a sway bar?
Taking this for a test drive and the difference is amazing! The installation was super easy and quick. I really can't believe how much of a difference it makes. Definitely an upgrade you need to do and do it now!

So wanted to see about the Hellwig Bar, but just one correction, there WAS a firstgen Bronco with a Factory Swaybar, and the 1977 I'm deleting right now has one, that being said it's not MUCH of a Swaybar because they clamped the ends onto the Radius Arms only and not the frame, mating the Radius arms does work, but not very well. Just figured I'd put that out there. If anyone looks at their radius arms and sees a single hole through the middle of the Radius arm about 3.5" behind the rear shock mounting that would be your factory Swaybar hole for the rear swaybar bracket that was likely deleted.

I had a similar reaction after doing the front. I’m on my 4th EB and this is the 1st I put one on. One of the best upgrades for your money. Ended up doing the rear kit too.

I dont understand how the bolt holes didn’t line up? If all the aftermarket stuff bolted up then so should this. Other than that, looks like a great product 👍 I’m looking at getting the sway car system with quick disconnects.

@@NashvilleEarlyBronco yes but not that much harder than the front sway bar. Drilling through both side of the frame is the hard part of the installation. If I had lift…….

I got both front and back. They are installed but I haven't driven my Bronco yet. In fact, I only drove it 2 miles before the restoration. At that time, it was all original suspension, bushing's... etc. Down bad and all over the road at the time. All this to say, I won't have much reference but I'm really curious if others think the back sway bars made much difference. Maybe you could chime in?@@NashvilleEarlyBronco

From experience: the endlinks are are available in different lenghths based on the lift of your Bronco. When in doubt purchase the longer endlink.

I love the honesty of your videos…..Gives the rest of us grace to be human. I have added a sway bar to my 71 and really like it. I freeway drive mine a lot…I mean a lot !! I drove it from OH to NV for the last Super Celebration. I have trouble with puddles on the highway….I really pulls the steering wheel. I drive mine at highway speeds…70-75mph. Any advice around this? 2.5” Toms suspension…1” body. I have the degrees C bushings. I do have a Dana 30. So, no real adjustments there. Thoughts?

Instead of moving the bar to the driver side, to clear the pitman arm. Could you move the bar's mounting point inward? Because it gives you holes in the bar for different mounting points? Great video!!😁

Good vid - I installed mine about a month ago, but haven't driven it since putting a 351W in and doing rear disc brakes at the same time. I'm wondering how much a rear sway bar would actually do on a street Bronco! I own one but haven't installed it as I'd think"not a lot". But gotta install all the bought parts!
