On January 16, 2023. An officer from the Shorewood Police Department attempted to contact a vehicle's owner for being illegally parked in the roadway. When the driver came back to his car he quickly hopped in and evaded the officer. Police were able to identify the vehicle's owner by the temp tag on the car. Officers went to the owners residence where they located the vehicle and spoke with the alleged driver that fled. The suspect denied driving the vehicle and he was eventually arrested. He was charged and found guilty with “Resisting an Officer-Failure To Stop Vehicle” He was sentenced to three months House of Corrections, a reintegration center and 12 months of probation.
