    When the BB cold calls a check raise 3 bet on flop with a player behind, we need to adapt our barreling strategy recognizing that this action represents a lot of strength. Watch at 8:04 for the explanation of why we should tend to check turn now even if we had a plan to bet.

    Hi Andrew I recognized you by voice right away lol I'm BB with 66. Me and HJ were super dip for 2-5 game, I have him covered.(he was super splashed and had a lot of drinks) I slow played my set couse I was hoping HJ will do something stupid River I was thinking HJ will call with overpair. I remember Andrew tanked for long time on my river bet...then he showed me A3 and I was instantly mad of my value bet... But i still showed table my cards!

    You missed a raise on flop or turn. He would’ve stacked off with an overpair on the flop when you flat so you need to charge him for draws on the turn. So I would’ve let him bluff off his missed draw overvalue any overoairs if he still had anything this point

    BB was sandbagging the flop with nefarious intentions for the turn. The turn brought home one of the primary draws and he just got cold feet and started screaming in his head "PAIR THE BOARD!" repeatedly. The callers biggest mistake was not repeatedly screaming louder in his head "HEART!". Let this be a lesson to all readers.

    Might be better off this way though. If hero made the minor but understandable mistake of only screaming equally loudly in his head instead of slightly louder then it would have produced the 6h and hero probably would have lost piles.

    I hate missing Value so I am sure I would have bet the River. I wouldn't have jammed. I don't think I even bet the 800$ Bart suggested. By I also would have never played this hand preflop. These Ace Rag hands always get me in trouble. I lose big with them more than I win big, so I typically just fold them.

    When the BB called the check raise on the flop, i viewed it as either a combo draw of either 89hh or 45hh or a slowplayed set, nothing in the middle. Players generally don’t raise postflop at low stakes without big value hands they are prepared to go to war with, people just call and/or pay off way too much at those levels and if the BB is even a halfway decent player he knows this (Hero raising with the draw is actually the exception and not the norm). When we eliminate medium strength hands, the bet on the river is either a total bluff or a boat, nothing else. Considering that he bet into multiple players I’d lean towards it being a boat and i would have folded anything less than 66 (if I had 66 and he had 77 I’m just paying it off). If I folded A3 there and got shown a bluff, I’d just tap the table and give him kudos for a really brave and good play.

  • @conephompany

    Almost never folding disguised trips here at the end, especially vs this weak sizing. more often than not what happens is you misread the opener for an OP and he's holding the combo draw and the cold caller in the blind is trolling along with the overpair. His bet otr is also consistent with a bluff or 2 pair going for value after hero checks what would be a brick for his range. Okay villain opens up nuts here this time but if you consistently fold this spot I think it's a losing play. As usual I only comment when I think CLP is incorrect which is almost never. Thanks for the thought provoking content.

    Going for value with a counterfeit 2 pair on the river in a multi-way spot where ranges are super condensed ? As played this is an easy check fold to the bb on the river calling down in these spots is torching money

    The BB missed value by not raising either the flop or turn. The HJ would’ve stacked off with an overpair, even and open ender and lower flush draw, and gotten a little more value from the hero even if he didn’t get him to stack off. The HJ would’ve jammed with any overpair on earlier streets so I lean towards him having a busted draw. As the BB I might’ve checked to get the HJ to bluff, and get an over call from hero

  • @EllieBanks333

    @EllieBanks333

    2 ай бұрын

    Maybe. This hand is so hard to discuss because hero misplayed every single decision point. The BB's over-call on flop was so strong it's almost always a set. So you could argue for a flop raise, because the call really does not disguise anything. But on the turn, I think it should just end the hand.

    Depends on the player pool tbh, I know regular short stackers at my local room, no one gives them action. If you do it once it might work, if they know you they start folding everything to you.
