You Might Be a Circle of the Moon Druid | Druid Subclass Guide for DND 5e

Ойындар

#dnd #druid #moon
Hey! Guess what. You're Awesome and thanks for watching. I promise this is the best DND tutorial based on a 30 year old Jeff Foxworthy joke you'll ever see. Stick around for more and vote in the comments for which subclass you'd like to next.
Moon Druid more like Boom Druid. Does that work? I don't think that works. Oh well. This subclass it super cool and totally not busted I promise. Make sure to also cast on of the 30 summoning spells so your DM can also keep up with all the wolves and other monsters you conjure. They definitely won't want to bonk you on the head.

    My favorite thing about these guides is while most just focus on the pros and cons, while stressing the meta options, these guides just focus on how badass specifically that subclass can be. It’s kinda refreshing to see someone highlighting the intended purposes of each classes instead of just picking the statistically strongest of each class and being boring.

    wild shape recharges on a short rest, so if your group isn't a bunch of adhd riddled speds and your DM actually has an adventuring day planed out you should get about 8 wild shapes a day.

    A Druid Evil Overlord would be an absolute nightmare to deal with. Imagine this scenario: You've managed to find the Resistance, and have all the major players needed to take Treehugger the Evil down, when suddenly a pigeon flys overhead, craps on you, and suddenly a Sunburst goes off in the middle of you all. At least half the people who got hit are probably dead, and there's a good chance that several of them are blind. Suddenly the bird swoops down, transforms into Treehugger, and then Wildshapes again into a T-Rex while simultaneously casting Firestorm. Assuming you're still alive, you manage to make it forward, and you're finding it dastardly hard to hit the T-Rex while it apparently has forgotten how to miss[Foresight], and if you DO manage to finally hit the bastard, he regenerates almost immediately[Regenerate]. Oh yeah, and if you do the math, Treehugger still has 18 Spell Slots left.

    So, people always look at moon druid as the most complicate subclass in the game, but in reality you only need to have your hands on a few stat blocks every level. The reason being is that your always going to use the strongest beasts you can turn into, so you'll only need those stat blocks plus a handful more for specific occasions.

I just wanted to mention that I’m playing a Moon Druid rn and you get 2x Wild Shapes per short, not long rest, so theoretically if you’re taking your short rests you can have 6x Dire Wolf HP totals to burn through per day. Somehow this class is even more busted than you already said. I love it!

    The metal armor restriction is INVALID because it tells you what your character is willing to do. It's YOUR character, the rules do not tell you what you are or aren't willing to do (outside of curses or other mind control stuff). You invented this character, you created its personality, no one has any right to tell you that your character isn't willing to wear metal armor.

  • @youmightbeadnd

    @youmightbeadnd

    Жыл бұрын

    I, as a DM would also let you ignore that as it seems silly as long as you are mechanically able to use the armor. Wooden Plate really isn't a a thing so restricting a Fighter/Druid or Paladin/Druid in this way seems no fun. I agree, I like the flavor of natural armor as long as it doesn't get in the way of character choice.

  • @theuncalledfor

    @theuncalledfor

    Жыл бұрын

    @@youmightbeadnd If it was at least a genuine mechanical restriction, like "your druid abilities don't work while wearing metal armor", it would still be stupid, but it would be valid. The game rules are there to tell you what your characters are allowed to be _able_ to do (for balance reasons, and to make it easier to have structure). But taking a roleplay suggestion and making it a "rule" is completely unacceptable.

  • @LupineShadowOmega

    @LupineShadowOmega

    Жыл бұрын

    @@youmightbeadnd Yeah, but its a magical world. You should definitely be able to create Wooden Plate. Creating some sort of super alchemical resin that you put over wood to make it hard as steel doesn't sound crazier than someone coming up with a spell to let you fly or a ritual to become an eternal undead abomination.

  • @youmightbeadnd

    @youmightbeadnd

    Жыл бұрын

    Sure, but that's getting into homebrew territory, and while I love homebrew, what I'm talking about is just RAW mechanically speaking Wooden Plate doesn't exist. Meaning Wizards intended on limiting the druids options for armor out the gate. Probably for balancing reasons. However every campaign is different and if your DM thinks you could cobble together some logs to make plate armor that sounds fun to me.

    I think I'll just dip artificer, since artificers (upto armorer lvl3, if we don't go upto 20 anyway) can, recreate uncommon magic items, serpent scale mail is uncommon (14 AC + full dex made from serpentine scales and doesn't impose disadvantage on stealth. From candle keep mysteries) that should solve most of the armor debate. I think 🤔😅😁

    That was hilarious 😂 I already knew druids are strong, but this... 😅 It's not just raw power either. The versatility! You can deal both physical and magic damage, you can shapeshift into creatures immune to specific types of damage, you can turn into a mouse, or a cat, or a spider (who would ever notice a spider on the ceiling????) and squeeze through cracks to infiltrate places and spy on enemies without being noticed, and you will do a better job than any thief ever could! You can heal, you can inflict different types of damage, fire, ice, poison, acid, necrotic - etc, and you can turn into massive beasts with huge hp pools capable of dealing massive damage, is there ANYTHING a druid can't do?

    I think I prefer the acid breathing cat, does this make me a sour puss? I'll see myself out.😂😅

    Wildshape is a short rest recharge, not just long rest. So every time the guy says 2 times a day, imagine he said about 6 instead. Also, he glossed over the fact that Shapechange is a self-only concentration spell, making it fairly likely your parade balloon gets popped at some point.

    Im probably repeating what allot of people have been saying, but damn you rock. These videos have me laughing out loud, scaring my girlfriend due to the sudden outbursts. Really amazing, can't wait until you do peace cleric (legit most broken thing to exist in 5e).
