When it comes to bass fishing, one of the best ways to catch bass is my fishing vegetation. You have both submerging grass and emergent grass and in this video I want to talk about everything when it comes to bass fishing.
We are going to talk about how to punch Mats, lily pad fishing, fishing reeds, and bank grass.
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

One tip I'll throw in ... When your senko gets ripped almost in half... Keep the stub. Texas rig it. Even if the 4/0 hook is as big as the stump. It casts well, it punches pretty well weightless... And it WORKS. Also makes economic sense to reuse the rejects.

I fished when i was a kid, and at 21 I picked it back up and fell in love again. Im 25 now, and it bears reiteration: SLOW IT DOWN. 4 years in and I have finally learned that you sometimes SHOULD leave a bait on the lakebed for 5 or even 10 seconds. You can let it fall all the way down. You can take a long pause between movements. You can wait for a few seconds until you actually feel the weight of the fish. You can take your time and watch your line go taut. This WILL catch you more fish with the correct bait. This video is a wealth of knowledge. Thanks as always BFHQ.

I believe this applies to most species except sunfish. Carp are particularly sensitive to lures and line Once you scare one away, That carp is gone and not hungry, based on my experience. Pike would be an interesting case study as they tend to be solitary like to bully other fish. I have no clue about crappie and walleye; they always seem to elude me. Trout, like carp, are skittish and easily scared, and I wonder if they vacate the area for the day. The dynamics are slightly different in rivers. It seems that fly fishing could be the most effective way to prevent 31% of the fish from leaving the area each cast.

@BassFishingHQ I feel like comments from the app get lost sometimes. Think about this, the umbrella rig is banned, trolling is banned, rods over 8 ft are banned. The reasoning behind these bans was to preserve the integrity of the sport. The claim against those things was that they eliminate some of the required skill that should be present when competing at the highest level. FFS without a doubt eliminates some of the skill that should be present. But it will never be banned, way too much money involved.

A lot of these tips just aren’t true…sure if you’re impatient and unable to adapt/fish another lure then maybe. If you’re only gonna fish a chatterbait then yes you need to find chatterbait eating fish…but if you have a creature bait on a rod, a jig on another, a crank on another you could pick apart that vegetation and catch 4-5 fish you would have otherwise skipped because they wouldn’t eat your chatterbait at 2-1/2 ft.

I don't think any cover is bad cover, but we can't possibly fish all of the cover. So, I see what you're saying but, this all depends on your location. Up north, all the bass are 4 pounds and they all stay in reeds. Where you have other types of aquatic vegetation, pads and stuff I find fish in them a lot actually. There's always shallow cover to fish, in any body of water for bass. I always assume there's fish in every pocket of the lake, cause there is and they can see you if you're in a bass boat. Fish are not that dumb, I have them as pets. They are like dogs, they know who I am. The more people fish a lake, the more the fish learn who you are too. They are picky sometimes for no other reason, than all they been eating is crawdads for 2 days, they can't get enough of crawdads, so I fish a jig. If cicadas, then fish a cicada lure like now right now they are stuffed on cicadas. Bug hatches sometimes create very bad fishing conditions, right now is the worst fishing in the last 17 years cause these fish are not hungry at all. They got a all you can eat buffet of cicadas now, they are all fat and lethargic bass. They will be suckers for some topwater in about, 2-3 weeks when the cicadas are gone. Agrobast bug. You create your own fishing conditions, I don't go out every day I just plan days, weather moon, wind etc. Wind can simply suck for bass fishing, I like calm days for bass because I can cast more accurately to cover, I am pretty accurate with a baitcaster and this helps cause many times fish are right up on cover. I can just pitch cast from some distance, but I learned how to flip cover. I just don't see the point in flipping cover, except windy days sometimes, just to get out of the wind. I'd rather ideally cast to the cover, from about 20-30 feet away. You might say, well why why would you need to be that accurate at casting ?. You don't but, it just happens when you been fishing since you're 8. You cast like 2 million times, get good at it. I seen guys who are really good, they can cast into a coffee mug now what is up with them ?. I am just pretty accurate, not really good. I can hit ducks from very far away, with a senko worm. Poor duck has no clue what just happened, he was part of a bet that I won with some guys. I went 3/3 on ducks that day. I met a Pro and I begged them to get me a job, but they left. I figured it was worth the chance. He thought about it for a minute, then I think he changed his mind cause I had a kayak only, he had a Ranger with lighting bolts on it, like a angel sent from God. He was not really impressed enough with my Kayak, but he did seem impressed by the fact I asked him to get me a job. So if you see a pro, that's what you should do is ask them for a job.
