King-ohger, in my opinion, is the best Reiwa sentai season so far. The way it handles its characters and world building is extremely impressive and unique compared to other sentai seasons. And the fact that even small background characters or characters that would normally fall under "person of the week" episodes actually reappear *consistently* is what sets it apart from something like Donbros on Zenkaiger.

They use the huge cast really well here tbh.

I'm blown away by how quickly this season became my number one Sentai. Around episode 20, things started gaining momentum, and it just never let up. Then everything started connecting, everyone got fleshed out, and they wrapped it all up with an existentialist take on Sentai that was only ever implied. And the best part? It once again showed how brilliantly the formula works when you get creative.

Gira is awesome and one of my favorite reds in my opinion, and he has a lot of moments where he steals the show for me

For me, these are the reasons why Kingohger became my personal favorite season of all time: • Departure from episodic format, and even if the episode still ended up being a filler it still in a way contributes toward either the characters, plot or both • Every main characters are 3 dimensionals, equally developed and not one of them felt like they're hogging or not getting enough spotlight • Usage of green screen might be a turnoff for lot of people but despite it being wonky it ended up making the overall theme and world building more diverse and way less repetitive • Less mecha fights that results in better plot, plus most of the mecha fights ended up being pretty memorable • No dumbing down villanious character ala Gentoku from Build that did unforgiveable stuffs earlier in the show but ended up being a nerfed joke character that is also best buddies with everyone • Continuing the previous point, while arguably not the best but IMHO Racles villain twist is the most consistent in any Toku show i have ever watched for the last 20 years • Well thought and done crossover with Kyoryuger despite the actors/actress limitation, can't wait for the V-Cinema • The merchandising doesn't interfere with the story unlike Lupat, plus the toyline themselves are GOAT I truly can't recommend Kingohger enough if you can live with excessive use of green screen, fantasy theme, and less mecha fights in the second half.

“I will hear you scream” is such the hardest line Gira ever uttered. I can’t even tell if he saying it in his gimmicky build up tyrant king persona or he’s really fired up. Praise toku gods, modern sentai is really doing great since zenkaiger.

I really like the Insect/King concept you bring up with the Galactinsects because I had never really thought about it until your reaction to the power-up episode

Banger video, banger season, when over half of the cast are characters I would consider some of the best written characters in Sentai history you know it’s great

Yeah like Gira's problem is that the show kinda feels like they're only way to make him and the rest of the team equal is to undercut him a bit. Like it's better for this show in general he isn't super meat ridden like some other reds but having a few of the moments where they all band together be led by him would've done wonders for his characters.

Gira is the perfect Red for this characters!

i started actively watching this season every week around that fight with racles using the crown. its honestly become from just any other sentai to my favourite of all time. royalty is my absolute fav aesthetic combined with the suit and mecha designs being some of the coolest looking imo, and then we get to the story, which i think is the best sentai plot, not even close.

King-ohger is one of my favorite Sentais to date because of the layers of the stories that they showed in the show. I fell in love with all of the characters especially Rita, I am IN LOVE with Rita! Anyways, at the beginning of the series, it felt like it would be straight forward that the previous King was an A**hole that needed to be taken down but in the long run, it did kind of went stale for me. However, they kept pulling me in with the twists, character developments and even the shedding light to the citizens and other side characters that would normally be looked over. I also love the way each King had a character that really made it clear that they were THE KING of their kingdom. Yanma is the Wise King that wants to be on top to rise from the ashes and keep giving his people the life that they would want, Himeno is the Selfish King (Queen) that meant that her selfish desire to save her people and to do what's best for her people because that IS her SELFISHNESS at work, Rita is the Serious King (Queen) where she may have been handed the responsibility of being the sturdy and unwavering justice but inside she's human and deeply cares for her people and her friends Moffun really did help her a lot and it was heartwarming that Morfonia was telling Rita that they would be together forever, Kaguragi the Powerful King has probably one of the best character writings that I've seen in a while being ready to pour blood and dirt in his hands so that his kingdom will not have to, and Gira may be inexperienced as a king but his heart was always in the right place and he knows he has morals that should never be pinned down, and the biggest character set up that I have seen, Racles Hastie was planning to kill Dugded since the beginning and in order to trick Dugdedm he tricked everyone in the kingdom, heck even I was tricked. Damn this is getting long HAHAHAHA anyways all I can say is I love this show so much

The best Sentai season.

Although the green screen in this show is not very good a lot of the time LOL, but there is no denying that without it you can't complete a world view like kingohger, and you can't show a view like the square, and there are awesome cg like the debut of the galactic insects that have never been seen in the series before.🤣

King Ohger became one of my favourite sentai because of how they did their characters and world building.

I wish they do more insert songs when fighting. Inferno is epic

There’s a various reason why every Sentai series that the point of Sentai story isn’t about being an Akaranger and a leader. Kakauranger, Dekaranger, Donbrothers are prime example of every characters having a major plot or build ups. King Ohger is something that Gira still captures Akaranger moments but not as much like Taro and Sasuke. But still, Super Sentai prime color will forever be Red, Akaranger is a major color of Super Sentai franchise and it doesn’t that they had to be a leader.

personally I don't agree with how you viewed Gira. Gira had a lot of moments of being badass such as actually beating Racles. Episode 42 made clear that Gira screwed over lots of Racles' plans and that Gira did legit beat Racles in episode 20.

“King Over” more like Game Over

Compared to the past era (Zyuohger to King-Ohger; I go by 10 year anniversaries) King-Ohger is comparable to Gokaiger. I feel like when we talk about what makes a Sentai “good” and what makes it memorable we look at Gokaiger. King-Ohger is that; a beautifully chaotic, well written, imperfect masterpiece. All shows have flaws but King-Ohger embraced those flaws and in return we got a damn near perfect season. It’s definitely the strongest in the Reiwa era.

I wish King Ohger was an anniversary Sentai season.❤

I love don brothers and other sentai like shinkenger or kyuranger. But this series absolutely blows them out of the park in my opinion everything just works Even the cgi which i absolutely loved no matter how janky it got somtimes This series is just so incredible 👍

Objectively speaking yes this is a good show. But I’m sorry it’s not perfect because I had issues with this show. But did I still have fun? Yes

king ohger hands down one of the best sentai series we've had in the reiwa era. And this is coming from me a Kamen Rider fanboy.

Loved King Ohger, Rcules is my favorite character. For a man to go that far as to seem like a villian to save his country from the clutches of evil is really a true hero. For Rita, I don’t buy into the whole binary thing I feel she’s a female who chooses not to disclose her gender.

I enjoyed it the the theme but zords spider kimono is my favorite ranger

I loved kingohger, hopefully it will be adapted into a pr season

Don Brothers and King Ohger = 10/10

It's definitely ambitious in its storyline, but I feel like an aspect that is overlooked by many is the fact that the virtual sets limited the choreography way too much. Considering Sentai is an action show, I felt this brought it down a bit. Still, a way better attempt than most of the stuff we've gotten after Go-Busters. I feel like Sentai has started to get good again with Kiramager, it and Donbrothers was a blast. These last string of series felt like the franchise went back to Pre-Go-Busters levels of quality.

Ryusoulger was great and the first season in REIWA that set the BAR but after that ( Kiramager , Zenkaiger , donbrother)below the bar (SIGH) !!!! King Ohger pass the bar and set up the new one . I hope boomboomger is not back to level of dobutsu sentai zyuohger which is the worst season of super sentai .

Over the time i always bashing on toei intern green screen team cuz they suck but after seeing their studio and seen how they do those green screen using a machine to do it automatically and not by hand, i own those intern an apology ( also am sorry if my english is bad )

Best season since Gokaiger, in my opinion....

gira really deteriorated quickly because it felt like he had no layers like in the first episode. We see him make a decision that is so pivotal to the story but later on he just isn't that. He doesn't get the nuance like the first episode

Because he is not the leader like typical tradition red ranger .... Yes i believe GIRA can be explore more especially he have the most detailed background in this series .

PEAKOHGER

A season whose first half is as good as its second half is worse, but I still quite like the use of special effects and the story it tells. It's fun to watch, but it's not in a peak or favorite category at all. However, it is a hard-to-find blessing for those who want to watch a mature sentai season.

@@GGX120 I disagree about King Ohger. I mean it literally made me feel like I watched a 2-season series unlike previous seasons. Both the first half and the second half of the season had build ups and important events.

Hands down better than Donbrothers. The meat riding for Taro was too much and the concept it had was poorly executed. Meanwhile, Kingohger had a story, characters and worldbuilding. The themes and all was just amazing. i haven't enjoyed sentai like this since LuPat.
