My second home theater speakers were Atlantic technology. They were the equivalent to something like these but are now at least 20 years old. I gave the system to my buddy, and it's still kicking butt to this day. The amount of use those speakers have had is crazy. Whenever I go visit him, they still put a smile on my face.

That’s an awesome story!

I've seen this brand a lot on home Theater Montage .. and I've seen it on a few images ..but from a few years ago. Really nice stuff. Nice to see it in white ( for me personally )

I'm curious as to how these compare against the new SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle Speaker? As per the Atlantic Technologies site this speaker uses two 5.25″ Glass Fiber midrange drivers.

Yeah, I saw that on the site too. You can check the video though…. I hope to have the Pinnacles soon to review. They might be my new favorite speaker if what I heard at shows translates out.

Atlantic Technology is one of those brands which doesn't seem to receive much publicity these days. I have two of their SB1000 10" powered subs in my HT rig that I bought from Parts Express around fifteen years ago. The plate amp on one of them died two years ago and the other one died last year. I replaced them with 100 watt plate amps from Parts Express and they're working great. For a 10" sub I'm surprised by their output with a measly 100 watt amp driving them.

No, no plans to disassemble.

This brand is not new. It has been around for a few decades. I remember seeing their adds in the 90's.

They used to be competitive to the late and great Henry Kloss's brand of speakers in the 90's (I forgot the name) However, with these speakers Atlantic has gone deep into the high end market!!

All home theaters,no matter the cost, need one or more subwoofers. My LR speakers in my dedicated theater space retail around 12k and they need a subwoofer. Right tool for the job.

@@vvsousa I agree. I like to be able to get down to 20hz even with music and there are nearly no towers that perform that miracle. For 99% of people these will play completely low enough.
