You Don't Have to Let Your Emotions Control You | Sadie Robertson Huff & Jennie Allen

God created us in His image and He is emotional, so WE have emotions! But what do we do with them? Do we let them run our lives, or can we air them out and talk about them with trusted friends and family and then deal with them in a productive and healing way? Sadie and Jennie Allen tackle all this and more as they discuss confession, parenting during highly emotional moments, and the example Jesus set for us in dealing with deep emotions. Jennie shares about her and her husband's "dark night of the soul" when she says she just went numb. And Sadie confesses a recent anxiety struggle and how she navigated it to a better place. Jennie's book, "Untangle Your Emotions" is available now!

@SadieRobertson there is a really great book "The Five Love Languages of Children" by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell ,and the book describes children :infant to 18 and how to understand and love your children and supply their emotional needs. Discipline is also in this book and has a great approach on how to discipline , without withholding love from the child. Also, it has a lot of christian perspective.

The story surrounding the passage of “Jesus wept.” is one of my favorites in the Bible. When going through a difficult time a while back, I will never forget what my pastor said to me: “God is not shaking his head in disappointment at you or wondering why you just don’t trust Him enough - no, He’s crying with you.” It was one of those moments where it just completely hit me and shifted my view and heart towards God - He is just and He is holy, but He is also compassionate and patient.

I always love and want to acknowledge when science aligns with scripture. Words have power and create healing supernatural miracles within our bodies. Thank you for sharing! Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words."

Going through a season of unsettling feelings right now. Our church seems to be going through several leaders leaving and I am feeling lost. I’m trying to see God’s plan in all of this but also feeling like I am losing so many friends too. Asking for healing for our church family and praying God has his hands in this situation.

Can women be preachers? Me and my friend have been having an ongoing argument about this topic and it saddens me knowing I have considered being a youth pastor.

I would seek some trusted counsel at a local, biblical centered church. My perspective is that women should not be head/ lead pastors at a church, but are permitted to lead youth, Sunday school, ext. At the end of the day, turn to scripture and the Lord in prayer and I'm convinced His Spirit will leave you.

This is such a croc in today's society. I've been in church my whole life..I've adopted kids from foster care and it's disastrous and I've never been as isolated. The church is mostly name only these days. Connections, help going through the hard stuff, nope. Crickets.
