There are many spots in cash game poker where block betting, meaning betting between 10% and 33% of the pot is by far the best play. This applies to value bets and bluffs yet my poker students are often completely lacking this skill when they first come to me for coaching. In this video i showcase some hands where I used block bets to good effect in my 100 Rush and Cash challenge on GG Poker.

My only problem in general with this is, it's so easy to exploit. Take your trip 9 example you overbet river with trips and block bet weak value and bluffs. So vs you I can raise so easily for thin value on riv and overfold to your overbets
On the k8s hand, dont you think we could bet 2/3pot in real life? I mean, as we know, people dont defend their check back range as a GTO would, thefore we can make a case that hand is strong enough to bet bigger. Thoughts? Id block bet something like 55 there
I'm guilty of missing block on the turn. The river I'm OK with.
Just watched the first hand. Why is that a block bet? I thought a block bet was specifically designed to stop opponents value betting for a larger size, while still allowing worse hands to call, or making something look like a block sizing to induce?
