"I've been dead before...It was liberating". -The Joker. There's a saying in certain card games-The Joker's wild". In this movie, he certainly was! A Mob Boss disagrees with him, and finds out that he should've kept his big mouth shut! The Joker walks up to him, and wants to shake his hand. The Mob Boss shakes The Joker's hand, not seeing the very lethal device that the Joker has in his right hand...and ends up with the device lighting him up like the proverbial Christmas Tree! The Mob Boss is electrocuted to death, and ends up charred beyond recognition! Afterwards, all of the other bosses hastily comply with the Joker, who, by now, has revealed just what kind of an absolutely maniacal madman he can be...and at that point, things are just getting started!

@Marcelo Medeiros it's more complicated than that. When Batman was remastered on UHD, they used a brand new video source with a different color grade along with a new sound mix that replaces sound effects with new ones. The DVD used a different video source and had an older sound mix with the original sound effects present from the film's theatrical run in the 80s.

This is one of those rare cases where high quality actually works against a film (or at least a scene.) When I was a kid watching this on VHS, you couldn't really see Joker's face in the shadows. It was too dark and the quality was too poor, which made him (and the scene) scarier. You didn't see him until he stepped into the light. But now, in high quality, you can see his face in the darkness and it's just not the same.

This scene looks brownish-red. Others are blue. I don't like it.

I wish I could wipe my memory and rewatch this scene (whole movie for that matter) for the first time.
This set is one of my favourites in the movie. It is so excessive and pure narcissistic it's beautiful
