In the ch.3 boss fight, there appears to be multiple Catnaps, but there is actually only one real Catnap. You will know if you got the real Catnap because he will scream when you blast him with steam. However, if Catnap opens the vent above you, that Catnap is always the real Catnap. You can get Catnap stuck in a loop by repeatedly closing the vent door partially, and you won’t have to worry about anything else except the timer. This trivialises the boss, and allowed me to beat it in two tries. Due to this, you can also potentially save time by never getting the purple hand, as you don’t need it to reach the boss or defeat him, as long as the real Catnap doesn’t come down the front left hallway, which I believe saves 10-15s (but is subject to some RNG).

I have a friend that played this game for his channel, and he discovered through some trial and error that catnap will only spawn down a hallway if you're not looking down it. he was able to just get catnap to never really spawn by keeping continuous eye on all the hallways. I don't know if this is actually true as I haven't looked at the code or played the game myself that was a thing I heard from him with his experience playing the game. This could trivialize the whole boss fight when paired with the vent strategy.

If a game has objects with physics, you can almost always rely on them for speed running. I'm sure there's probably a way to get to the boss fight area just from clipping alone

Yeah you use a chair & no fps limit to noclip out the map it's decently complicated but someone did it to beat the game in 8 minutes.

I just realized that this speedrun saves dogday from dieing. No ollie. Huggy doesn't leave the vhs. Teacher lives. And kissy never gets to understand you .

​@@corruptedplayer That might also be because the smaller critters were feeding on him, hence why there's only half of him left. He did say, "They want nothing more than to crawl beneath your skin and eat away at you bit by little bit" and "These little toys follow CatNap to avoid that very fate, and in turn, they are fed" which isn't explicit, but it'd be pretty horrifying if DogDay was slowly being eaten away by the little guys.

He warns the player to stop what they’re doing “or I’m coming for you.” He only attacks the player after this final warning.

I have yet to see anyone commenting on how the overcharged green hand didn't burn CatNap, it only gave him convulsions. What burned him was the red smoke getting into contact with the electricity running over his skin. In other words, if CatNap had chosen to not use the red smoke on the player, he wouldn't have been burned and he would have most likely killed the player.

I mean they didn't have to since we the player wouldn't have any line of sight of kissy being attacked.

I believe that catnap didn't kill us in the first sequence, because he thought that we would get crushed in the trash compactor. We also know that, in the second part of the piston room, he climbed up a vent so he may waited for the player to check if we get crushed or not because obviously we wouln't have aarived there if this was the case. Otherwise impressive Video!

Catnaps death isn't even that graphic, mommy long legs death was much more violent looking with the blood splatter, while Catnaps is the equivalent to a plush toy being stabbed by a kitchen knife (violent but not graphic)

It's also important to note that fps affects physics, so lower fps (e.g. 60) pulls much faster than higher fps (e.g. 144fps).

Speed runners have always done two things for me. Teach me how to straight up master a game or tell me how games are made

feels like Security Breach situation, when 10 hours of game became 2 minutes of speedrun XD

I love how this entire game is just either a cutscene(can still interact and change things later on) or an unskippable sequence(you can clip out of) and the boss fight

According to ingame dialogue, Catnap loves the hunt and also likes to feed people to the little critters in a section of the playcare. That's why he puts you down that chute.

Imagine if they actually did a fully animated kissy missy vs whateverthatwas fight and the player sees none of it because they're on the lift.

When i started watching you the channel was kinda small but now your channel is huge.Hope the channel gets bigger.😊

i think the reason he tosses you down the shoot is to have you crushed for easier rationing. the toys are clearly running out of food so they need to make do with what they can, thats probably what he's nearby after you escape like an "oh shit, he lived" kinda thing
