You Are Burning Out. Here's How To Stop.

Burning out on KZread? Loosing motivation easily? Feeling lazy, but can't explain why?
Burnout is a crazy feeling that can be the point of reason for so much struggle on youtube. I have ALWAYS struggled with it myself. It's only recently that I have been able to find a way around it, which in this video, I will share with you.
Thanks to @MikeCrocker for that epic lego segment. And thank you to @JamFam1957 for editing the main three parts of this video! I love you guys!
also, special guest @immediatebang !

All i can say that when this video dropped a month ago, i was in the worst state of my life, i had my channel blow up all my life when the game of FIFA released every year in Sepetember but last few months were tough, just realised the competition increased and people were able to challenge me right in the gut. Fell down in the deep anxiety hole and will never forget what i felt. All i can say is that this video helped me to put me in the right head space. Im not going to lie i watched this video about 2-3 times a week sometimes to remind myself that creating content is more important that thinking about stats and views and after realising about controlling what i can and not worrying about what i cannot. Thank you so much FIN! Would love to connect with you on discord! Thank you so so so much for this video!

This is a VERY important topic. Burnout just occurs sometimes and there's little you can really do except take a step back for a while. Personally, the thing that has helped me the most is taking things slow if I feel like I'm losing motivation. Just relax for a bit, think of a plan, organize my work. It can help untangle your mind. (P.S: 0:08 hey, look who it is! I made it into the video lol)

I’m a little late to these videos, but it makes me really happy that you made them. It feels really good to see a person from your channel size not only succeed, but also give your realistic perspective that got you to this point. Sometimes it really feels like your next video is only going to do worse than the last and it looks like the goalpost is just moving further. Sometimes you have NEGATIVE motivation to get a video edited and it just makes you second guess the entire video even more. Thanks for showing that you can work your way through this stress and make it happen.

Hey man, I am one of those guys who watches and never leaves comments. I just wanted to say that I understand your feelings as I was in the similar situation some time ago. I immigrated from Russia to Denmark, exploring the world and chasing the opportunities. I found a good job, well paid, but in a country, where I was totally alone, without friends and maybe not that welcomed - in the way that If I leave it, nobody would cry about it or anything. I worked a lot in order to settle and make this employment permanent. Unfortunately, I was unlucky with my manager, who treated me more like “a slave who came from the outside to have a better life”, and instead of moral support, he used it for advantage and pushed me even more with tasks, obligations and etc. basically he put all his work on me, bullying me and my others colleagues regularly. So I worked more and more in order to stay, and keep the good life. Then things got worse and political, and even that was not enough. And the BOOM, I reached it: the feeling of total emptiness and lack of any power to do anything. The whole courage and motivation I had became pointless. Things intensified till the moment when I wanted to drop off everything and just run away, back home, where I at least se e parents and friends. And then I realized that the only way out was… to set boundaries. That is, to leave time for myself, to shift focus, to explore around and just get a deep breathe. Man, you do an amazing content. I recently started my KZread as well, telling about music and just some funny stories. In other words, just expressing myself. You and dunkey videos really inspire me. I really appreciate your work and the empathy you have towards your viewers. You are not alone. Keep cool!

really appreciate this fin, i've studied the youtube algorithm for like a year and a half now but only started making videos about 2 months ago... I burned myself out so bad so i've took a step back at the minute to really think how not to burnout as i literally wake up go on my computer then go to bed after hours and hours of doing youtube every day. Ive learned so much about youtube and taught myself how to edit but when i go to make videos it all falls apart, like i always end up disappointed in my videos even though they are doing well for just starting uploading. I really am trying to fix the problem and this helps a lot so I appreciate it lol :)

This video really spoke to me. Every one of the points you've made in this video is something i'm either battling currently, or i've experienced in the past. Thank you for highlighting these issues and presenting them in a way which makes them feel less like personal issues, but rather something we all battle through as full time creators. I particularly liked the part where you mentioned the mindset of creators who've just started - it bought me back to when I first began making videos and how differently I looked at things, compared to my current outlook on the creation process. Also, a massive thank you to your Finn, for the incredible preset packs and content that you regularly continue to put out for us. My Channel's work has been improved 10x since I started watching you and bought your preset packs, which have opened up an entirely new window of opportunity for my videos. These tutorials, along with videos like this one, make it feel so much more possible to make this my long term career and achieve my long term goals. Cheers mate.

german subscriber here, Thank you for sharing your tips and for openly talking about the exhausting sides during the youtube journey. I just started my journey a few months ago and I notice that I feel quite exhausted sometimes cause of all the editing. I won't quit, cause my momma didnt raise a quitter. You are a big inspiration and indeed one of the best editors i've ever seen on youtube. Keep up your good work, much love from germany.

Thanks Finzar! Really enjoyed those thoughts. There are very very few content creators that I wish would make longer videos. You are in that crew. I appreciate all the work that goes into making interesting thoughts come alive. Reminds me I need to slow down and just enjoy some editing. On a little side note, I would be curious what type of videos you would want to make now if you were to start something new. Throw one in some time.

This is extremely helpful. I recently started editing for a YT channel and The only one expecting high things from me as a Editor is myself, and its not good for my Mental. Seeing the Analytics from the Videos made me Unmotivated even though the Video was preforming better, the expectations I set were way to high because I genuinely thought I made a Absolute masterpiece. But the more I edit the more I realise that Things don't change within a day. Your videos really helped me before but this was the best one Keep it up Fin

Your channel is by far one of the best channels on how to edit and grow your audience. Thanks for all the advice's, and now life lessons . I have a channel for fun but some how i know how you feel. If you don't control yourself, the KZread start to "taking over a huge portion of your life". keep the good work.

I really appreciate the advice, Finzar. I just started KZread and already felt overwhelmed. What if I can’t upload consistently and run into problems? Will my channel fail and turn into a dumpster fire? But hearing this advice has relieved me a bit knowing that I’m not alone and it’s ok to take a pause when you’re overwhelmed. You make very helpful (and hilarious) content and I wish you the best👍

Thank you finzar, i started youtube 2 years ago, and my first year was a lot thinking just like you said in the video, after that year i got bored of youtube because i was just too much stressed and spent 1 year without doing any videos, and nowadays i see how much is important to don't treat yourself as a robot, go easy, we're humans not machines, nowadays i'm back making video trying to everyday be better and not think of youtube as my entire life, i'm doing it with much more confort and calm, trying everyday to improve this mentality that we don't need to work 24h a day on youtube and we don't need to grow up in 1 month, just chilling and enjoying the journey, take the tips this guys gave us And lets go KZreadrs!

Thanks fin! great vid. I think the function of doing "stuff" is to become conscious of what we are doing. The pain is telling us something...
