I've got about 35,000km with my set: amazing tires on and off road. They are still really quiet and have plenty of tred left. Surprisingly great in mud/wet clay for an AT tire

Thanks for these updates - I have about 8000km on a set of these Yokohama X-AT's and everything you said was spot on. I am so pleased I got them. I have driven on greasy rutted tracks, and through muddy bog holes out in the WA Goldfields, and recently travelled through the Pilbara to Karijini on plenty of rough gravelly tracks and they are awesome on and off road. Only thing I haven't tried yet is deflating for sand and beach driving but have every confidence they will be fantastic there as well. Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks for all the great content on your channel. I'm now up to 30250km on the Geolandar X-AT. They are incredibly versatile, handle any terrain and inspire a lot of confidence on wet greasy roads, and gravel. Recent trips included extensive beach and sandhill driving at Bremer Bay and D'Entrecasteaux National Park. In soft sand the Geolandar's were down to about 15 PSI, my Pajero is a bit on the heavy side with drawers and fridge in the back, plus roof rack, bullbar, and a long range tank. Handled everything with ease, cannot speak highly enough of these tyres and will be buying a fresh set when these wear out which looks to be at least another 20 odd thousand k based on how they are going at the moment.

I've searched online for many months for replacements to upgrade my FJ Cruiser's ageing OEM Grandtreks. Had a shortlist of five and refined that to Nitto Terra Grappler G2s and Geolander X-AT. Zero stock on Nittos and no indication of future stock. So X-AT's it is, and based on reviews like yours and the positive comments I'm feeling more confident in my decision. Low noise is important to me. I get them fitted tomorrow, coincidentally by Tyres and More in Chelsea, VIC. I'll update tomorrow, hopefully positve :) Thanks for your video. (Subscribed)

@@4WheelsOnTheRoad Hi mate, had the X-AT's fitted this arvo. Your review seemed genuine and I'm happy to confirm you were right. Highway k's only so far, but the X-AT's are extremely stable and so responsive, while being only a whisper louder than my near bald Dunlop OEM's. Quiteness on the highway was a priority, I'm fussy and I just couldn't believe how quiet they are for such an aggressive tyre. The pitch changed slightly depending on the highway surface, but its totally fine, particularly for long distance driving. Based on my experience due to your review, two friends will also be going with the X-AT's. Hopefully others researching X-AT's like I was, will also find your review. I'll follow up with offroad feedback in time as well. Cheers, Phil

to be honest they are better than my previous tyres, if you are in Brisbane and want to know any more about the tyres call or drop in and see Ben and the team at City Rubber and they will be happy to fill you in with more info

  • @4WheelsOnTheRoad

from what I know also, the amount of hydroplaning has a lot to do with a lot of factors, weight of vehicle, speed traveling, water depth, road conditions, tread depth (how worn the tyres are) and the one factor pertinent to what you are asking is tread design

Meh, i have a set on my HDJ79 ute which is my work truck, carting tools around the countryside as a mobile diesel mechanic... After 30,000 kms they became noisy AF from being heavily ridged on the transition from the outer tread blocks to to the centre blocks, even after rotation every 10k. Now after 40,000 they need to replaced, and for me i'm not satisfied with that mileage. You're right, they are soft, too soft as, what is for me, 95% primarily a road tyre. I'm going back to Michelins which I can usually get 80,000 easily.

Hi mate, to be honest I'm not sure what they weigh. They'd probably be around about 15, 20 kilos each had to guess I've had no wear at all. Had them now for a year and a half. Maybe 2 years and they are still charging along and I've done thousands and thousands of kilometres on them. They're brilliant. Tire both on road and off-road

@@4WheelsOnTheRoad what I have experienced is if the tyre is too heavy, the spare one which is there on the tail gate, in some time the hinges of the tail gate will get weakened with bumps and jerks on the road. That is my concern.

  • @4WheelsOnTheRoad

@@shubhammukherjee4830 oh right, now I know what you mean. Can't say I have compared the weights of tires but in order for them to be durable and long lasting they all have to be heavy to some degree. If you are specifically talking about tires on rear doors etc. And the purest sense of weight distribution tires should not be anywhere other than over the axles on any vehicle
