Then I was like "we need to keep going." And she's like, "No. No. Just the shoe." And I'm like, "Oh no. You may know how avante-garde art works. I know how comedy works. More clothes have to come out." She didn't do it. But I just started handing out more clothes. And it was happening in the bag. And then I step out. And I think she was like, "Oh my god. I absolutely love how Conan was totally willing to go along with this bizarre art experiment. I can't imagine a guest segment on a talk show ever doing anything like this anymore. It's almost like something that would have appeared as a sketch as a comedy piece, but the fact that Yoko Ono apparently wanted this to be part of her interview makes this even more hilarious.

Just so you know- this is called ‘Bagism’ and is a satirical form of prejudice created by Yoko ono & John Lennon in the late 60’s as part of their peace campaign. The idea is “by living in a bag, a person cannot be judged by prejudice or appearance”.

I feel like Yoko's schtick has been to be a bit uneasy to be around. She's always played around with it, and I must say she's really rather good at it. She's the proto-Aubrey Plaza in some strange way. However, I feel like she was outmatched by Conan's silliness, and couldn't quite cope, which again made for a really strange chemistry. When she refused him the glasses at the end it sort of clicked how her artsy mysterious persona and his goofy quirky persona really don't mix. Like they are a part of different races. Yoko being a rock, Conan a big tall tree.

This is the first time I ever saw this! It was a hilarious sketch! I liked seeing Conan put her jacket on him even though it was too small for him. He probably should have topped off the segment swaying his arms and singing "Tall guy in a little coat!" The audience would have gotten a real kick out of that! ~Dutch

Honestly, as someone who isn't a big fan of Yoko... I enjoyed it. And I could see how this would be a beautiful performance art piece in the right museum setting. And that it would likely get a lot less criticism if done by someone more liked (or at least less known) than Yoko.
