I remember the Borat promo phase very well. It was incredible, how Sasha Baron Cohen stayed in character for months, visiting every show possible and all of them were still unique in a way. By the time the movie finally arrived, everyone was super hyped

There was also no echo chamber of social media where a perceived offense was repeated enough to go 'viral' and go from perception to fact. There was no social media where people got told what they should be offended about this week and to hit a 'like' button and 'share'. Simpler times. Not better but definitely simpler.

Finally, I’ve been waiting for this clip to be posted for so long. I thought the borat dvd special features was the only place you could see this.
Sacha is phenomenal of course, but props to good ol’ Conan as well who is eternally funny and entertaining. Two legends.
They really should have filmed a trilogy all at once. The moment Borat became known, the pranks fell flat until he used heavy prosthetic make-up.

@@roddo1955 Armenian. In the first Borat movie, his character is speaking Armenian which I somewhat understood. Pretty much saying what the character was supposed to be saying but much simpler than the subtitles.
Conan was the last of the great late night hosts. I was always there to watch Conan the guests were just co stars to Conan and his amazing show.

honestly Conan's flight and scare at the end seemed so convincing I am thinking he wasn't acting.... Probably believed honestly Sasha would've done it for REAL if given the chance.
Why have I never seen this until now!?! I love when actors go on as the character they're playing. Will Ferrell did so as Ron Burgundy, and Paul Reubens did so many times as Pee Wee. Imagine all three of them in the same interview all in character! Lol Sacha...I mean Borat looked like he was about to break character when he asked Conan about his pubis lol. "It's a veritable forest down there." (Let's see who gets that reference lol)
I would’ve loved to see Borat in theatres when it was released. These are the best kinds of movies to see with a bunch of other people. I was just a bit too young at the time. My friend did end up seeing Bruno in theatres, and he said he had to walk out bc it was too much 😂

My father, who unfortunately died 7 years ago, was a huge Sacha Cohen fan. He took me to the theaters to his movies borat and Bruno. He also watched ali g series before. He would need to grasp for air from laughter when watching him. I look back at this sometimes and think about him. Great times.
