Conan is the only late night host that isn't pissing himself afraid of the animals. He gets in there. He lets the expert talk. He actually interacts with the animal.

I’ve worked as a veterinary technician for about 13 years now, I want to say about 10 years ago at my old very large specialty hospital we treated one of Conan’s dogs. His dog was fine in the end but he did need a procedure and Conan was there every step of the way, usually it will be assistants that deal with celebrity pets. He was a class act all the way, super personable and I remember gave tickets to a show/behind the scenes to the specific doctor/department that helped his pet. What stood out to me is that I happened to be in reception when his dog was discharged and he thanked all of us and even made a hilarious joke at his dogs expense (don’t want to say the joke because it directly references the procedure the dog had and I still feel like that’s patient confidentiality). But anyway, my point is that you can tell his animal love in these clips is real and if you can ever get an insight into someone’s heart it’s through their kindness to animals. Love you Conan ❤

@@JHazard1000defanging is actually super dangerous for the snake. They dont stop making venom, its some that they have to make in order to eat. Instead it just causes them to lose control of their venom control entirely and it is horrifying what it can do to their faces. That snake was clearly extremely well socialized and even when it was close for comfort it was only displaying curiosity not aggression. You still need to be careful of course but if anything he probably was just interested in the warm stage lights

That cobra is a deadly weapon and the nature guy was coming closer to Conan so ANYONE would've been just as scared too.

I sometimes wish that Conan, Robert Irwin, and Sir David Attenborough would go on a safari trip. Anyone please make this a reality.

Notice how the cobra never expanded it's hood, usually when it does that it means danger. Seems like the cobra was pretty chill.

Yeah, I mean the only one he wasn't okay with was the cobra, which was probably the most dangerous animal to have in a room full of people.

2:20 the way Conan motions to the crowd when he's been being great, petting the armadillo gently, letting the keeper share facts, and then BAM! "they can get leprosy" and Conan looks at us like, "I did everything right, what can I do here?? I just caught leprosy from this thing."

yeah he was being a little too cavalier with that snake. His behavior honestly seemed pretty irresponsible. It's not cool to have a poor grip and very little control of a snake like that and continue running towards someone within striking distance like he was doing. Boas are one thing, but he was just running around with that snake acting like it was a harmless little snake he found in his garden or something. He was like that annoying kid who holds their finger towards you and repeatedly shouts, "I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!"

Both of them own and work with venomous snakes and they would have never had Conan do something like shaking a doll head around nor would they have had that snake near the audience like that. In fact when Chandler shows his king cobra on tours he has the snake enclosed in a room with just him while he holds it up to a plexiglass window for people to see. I don't know where this guy got the idea that the stuff he did would be ok.
