The asanas that are practiced for preventing 'hypertension' are : Shavasana , makrasana , sitlipranayama , ardh-halasana , etc. Writing in detail about any two of them: Shavasana : It is also known as the 'corpse pose'. Commenting on the statement that asanas can be used a preventive measure: Asana is a part of the ashtanga yoga , apart from yama , niyama , pranayama , pratyahara , dharna , dhyana and samadhi. Asanas , if done properly , could help us prevent as well as cure diseases like diabetes , obesity , asthma and hypertension , to an extent. Mandukasana and bhujangasana help in curing diabetes. Tadasana and katichakrasana are the ones to obtain cure from obesity. Vakrasana and anuloma-viloma lead to curing of asthma. Shavasana and makrasana provide aid in getting rid of hypertension. Hence , commented.

The following is meant by asanas: Asana is a component of 'Ashtanga Yoga' , apart from the seven other components , namely ; yama , niyama , pranayama , pratyahara , dharna , dhyana and samadhi. Elucidation of it's importance is as follows: Asanas have been regarded of so high importance that many a times we understand the concept of yoga solely through the concept of 'asanas' itself. Asanas could cure prevent and cure diseases such as obesity , diabetes , asthma and hypertension , till an extent. Asanas are said to build our concentration , improve our posture , heal our bodily deformities , calm the mind , reduce stress , etc. Hence , elucidated.
