Also it wasn’t the first time they hung their artists out to dry during a scandal like this. They did it with Bom too. They didn’t do their jobs, they let people say nasty things about their artist instead of defending him. YG doesn’t believe in their artists, they haven’t in a VERY long time.

@@curerose6906 JYP is only lucky because Twice choose to renew their contracts. Imagine what would it be if they choose or at least some members not renewing their contracts. I felt like Mina and Jeongyeon would had most likely not renew because both had suffered from anxiety and had to go on long hiatuses. Chaeyoung and Tzuyu where also members that could see leaving. Tzuyu is the most mistreated member and Chaeyoung we all know is very talented but JYP doesn't let her show off her true potential.

It's incredible to me, how YGE can't seem to look further ahead than the tip of their own nose. It feels like everyone and their grandma could see that the company was headed this way. They had a few really popular groups, that they paid absolutely no attention to. Who would have thought that those groups wouldn't want to stay in a company that never gives them any freedom or comebacks? I mean for gods sake, Black Pink feels more like a fashion group than an idol group at this point. I doubt YGE will go bankrupt from this, but if they continue like this, they will end up losing their Big3/Big4 spot.

This was all at the cost of Blackpink's professional reputation in the industry, and led to fan's degradation of the group's competency. It’s honestly unbelievable how YG hold back the members of Blackpink. They got hold back from attending variety shows, many collaborations and offers for roles in dramas. We may be witnessing the down falls of YG but we never know what will happen later with the entertainment. If they can’t promote normally baby monster then I can’t imagine them debuting an another group this year. I’m not surprised if they will abandon baby monster soon if they won’t succeed with their comebacks

I actually had an argument with somebody about how YG treated and held Blackpink back and they were so blinded by the lies YG had Blackpink give fans about wanting to put group activities first (what group activities?! The comebacks?!) and perfecting their solos (only Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo were ready). Clearly the members wanted so much more and the company wanted to keep them small to try to control them, but they never treated well enough to make them want to stay. Just watch them hold off on Blackpink activities and blame it on the girls for being too busy, when they don’t even try to give them a working timeline. Just look at how they tanked massive groups like Big Bang and 2NE1 as groups. Hybe was smart with BTS, by giving them stock in the company in exchange for their association allowing them to grow the popularity of their other artists until the artists firmly established themselves as huge acts, but YG was not going to give their artists anything like that. That company has been hemorrhaging artists like crazy the last few years and I can’t blame the artists, get out while you can.

YGE failed Baby Monster. Not only did he delay their debut over and over again, but the girls STILL aren't old enough or ready enough todebut. I am sorry if you disagree with me, but it doesn't sit right with me that they have a 14 year old and a 17/18 year old in the same group. What bothers me is that starting them at 14 or even 12 for a new group is too young, 16 is still okay because they know how to be responsible and understand the world, but below that it's too much pressure, anxiety, etc.

All I want is baemon to 1) have a comeback like normal K-pop groups do (I mean like example after 7 month or smith) 2) to go to award shows I want them to be like treasure honestly that’s all I want

my theory is that the reason why he does not want his artists to attend music shows is because they want to monopolize the content around their artists. Gives the air of exclusivity and control over what people get to see. Paint the perfect idol image if you will. Giving them the unreachable celebrity status from the get go. This is why also don't do much comebacks because Its all mind games and business tactics really.

People who don't understand how corporations operate...are apparently trying to make up "news" reports. So many things in this report are kind of silly. (1) They don't realize that YGE doesn't itself lose money if the price of shares go down for a few months. (2) They don't realize that YHS is taking advantage of it to increase the size of his shareholding percentage (already the largest among all shareholders) and will make huge profits when the market price goes up again. (3) They don't realize that a drop in "profits" in Q4 2023 compared to Q4 2022 was inevitable because Blackpink was raking in tons of money in their record-setting concert tour in Q4 2022 and the tour ended in Q3 2023...DUH! There was no big revenue-generating activity in Q4 2023 at YG. That's often the way it goes at entertainment companies. It's not like a business where every business quarter is supposed to be similar.

It was over the moment they abandoned GDragon. He made the company what it is today only to be stabbed in the back by these snakes 🐍

Yeah. Some of it seems to have been inevitable. Big Bang was actually finished about 5 years ago. GD hasn't really done anything at YG for several years. The only thing BB did in recent years was actually just a farewell song. After losing B.I., Ikon was struggling to stay even at the bottom of the top 10 Kpop boy groups. They got decent results, but neither Winner or Ikon or Treasure have come even close to dominating or even having Top 3 status for boy groups. YG was banking on at least one of them doing that, but it never happened and each group lost key members quite soon after debuted. Blackpink basically carried YG for the past 4 or 5 years...even though YG spent probably 20 times more money, time and effort in launching the boy groups than was ever spent on launching any girl group, including Blackpink. Baemon is the first girl group at YG that ever got boy-group levels of investment in pre-debut promotions.

What about winner they are thier group too

for me yg is that type of company where everybody wants to work expect the boss. And i am sure you guys remember when Jennie said i wish to record 10 more songs if I could , something like that i don't remember word to word and now , baby monster is suffering the most . and if yg cant keep there promises then why do they even promise . from my fav to my last option , yg has came and especially after G-Drogen.

YG has no "forward thinking" capabilities..

They better be making new comebacks asap, its better for both company AND fans(surely if blackpink themselves okay with it)

YG is not innovative or creative. They have been using the same concept for their groups for over 10 years. It's getting old. The new generation of kpop doesn't want girl crush. There's so many concepts they could've given BM. JYP and SM have many groups but still managed to give each of them their own unique concepts. If they don't start to switch things up, it won't be good for them bc once Blackpink's new contract expires, there's no more moneymaker.

Oof. To be honest. YG was doomed to fail ever since he has been holding back all of his popular groups that were topping the charts back in the days and took some groups for granted and never believed in their fullest potential. I'm glad Blackpink members have learned from their seniors and from other 3rd gen groups that were signed to YG to never renew their contract, only for solo activities, ever again. Now that they're all out as solo artists they can star in more variety shows, podcasts, modeling, dramas, release more solo songs, full solo album, and can collaborate with their favorite artists. Even if they can't leave YG as BLACKPINK - as a group - it all better than having no contents at all.

I feel like Kookielit is wishing for YG to fail and go bankrupt but objectively there is literally nothing to suggest that. Their stock is doing fine and financially they seem like a very healthy company still. This is so weird.

It's just the usual stretching and reaching for a shocking headline. Of course 4th quarter profits in 2023 are going to be much lower than in 2022. BP's tour ended before 4th Quarter 2023, but was going strong and raking in money in 2022. YHS is just taking advantage of temporarily lower market prices for shares to increase his shareholding percentage and control. There are definitely problems at YG. But Kpop gossip media exaggerates everything beyond recognition.

YG is like a Kid Who everybody hates but Also loves for the Talent it has got , if not for them we wouldn't have got Blackpink or other big groups like Big Bang Or 2ne1.

I don’t know why you are totally oblivious to how YG heavily promotes Treasure. They are currently YG’s money maker selling out big dome & arena tours allover South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macao & Southeast Asia. Their discography & album releases are many and very frequent. They have bountiful of products, merch & endorsements allover Asia. YG is finally allowing them to tour in the West. YG pours a lot of investments to Treasure including their own variety shows and even their Jikjin MV production cost broke records for how expensive it is. YG Market Stocks only suffers because traders are not looking beyond BP & their OG groups. YG actually has a future with Treasure and possibly with Baby Monster too with the announcement of Ahyeon’s return.

What they need now is brand new good songs...

Oh FFS... if u think he is going bankrupt the you really need to look again. First and foremost...blackpink did resign for.BlackPink group activities. Their individual stuff is under different companies. Plenty of idols have had duel contracts just like those and the company was fine. And stop discounting other groups under the label....

I also find it funny on how after the info that bp will be managing their own solo activities, Jennie already was planning to release a full album in 2024 as well as founding her own label

Not a fan of YG. He called one of his best groups, 2NE1 the “ugly group.” What a horrible thing to do and then just to disband them out of the blue like that i’m not surprised the BLACKPINK members didn’t want to re-sign with him. No wonder everyone’s leaving.

YG wants investors but doesn't want to invest in their groups. They know that concerts and brand deals are where all the money's at. So they just have Teddy do production for solid music and rely on YG's legacy and affinity for scouting talent to do the rest. The name and music are just to attract deals and have enough songs to fill out a concert. This is Mr. YG's mentality and will sink the company. People are drawn to YG to become idols, not fashion slaves doing tons of concerts with the same setlist every year. Groups get sick of performing their current title track as it is. A situation where you have to do the same title tracks over and over for years sounds like an idol's nightmare, honestly.

To be honest yg is one of the biggest kpop agency's and why would they just go bankrupt like that overnight? They have babymonster treasure and blackpink and even more groups! Why would blackpink just randomly leave the entertainment. They are doing a comeback soon. They will have a new song and will get money. And have fun. Also if they did leave yg they would have other groups so they still have money 👁👄👁💀

They still have influence but we gotta admit that YG is limiting their artists' ability and lack of creativity for them to grow. No proper planning for a comeback, promotion, and activities will likely make their idols lose interest and passion as time goes by. Another big mistake of YG is the unequal treatment of the artists where they only focused on the famous ones as the sole money maker and failed to protect them from scandals (that's why they lost gems like GD, CL, B.I., Lee Hi, and Yedam).

I feel bad for baby monster they just debuted and their company who was so huge when they started training their and now that they have achieved their dreams they have been given the throw away name of black pink, a song that everyone says sounds like it was meant for black pink, and their company isn’t even promoting them even though now they are basically their only group

YG isn’t going bankrupt anytime soon like many ppl think. They own most of YG Plus their subsidiary that is bringing billions of dollars bc of the HYBE music distribution deal. BP tour, YT channel, royalties are still bringing money. So it’s stupid to say they losing money bc they aren’t not they are just losing company value for investors to invest. Also, YG as a brand is basically dead. After all their iconic groups have basically left.

YG Entertainment bought stocks and they are the large stake holder now and they also have 50 in home producers in my opinion they are now trying hard to make change their company so i think these are good moves they will come back as always they did.

YG sucks at managing their artists

I’d rather have good individual work from the BLACKPINK members than something that is underwhelming from YG.

I will always support Ji yong wherever he is at. YG is shameless to fill a trademark copyright for G dragon since he used that name even before joining YG. They should have let him use his stage name after all of things he had done for YG. YG wouldn't be as today (in big 3) if it was not GD/BB ( 2ne1 also). YG himself admitted that BB made YG.

I also was thinking about image of Blackpink as a group. Because image of each girl effects the group image for sure. Now YG does not have control over them puts both YG and Blackpink into a difficult position they really need to come up with a good idea, concept and sound for their future album to blend the girls. Of course, there hasn't been anything with solo careers yet, except Crazy Horse performance of Lisa. but if girls relase full albums with more than 8 songs, then they probably can not put 8 songs into upcoming album. Otherwise fans just give up and listen to solo stuff instead.

I am curious what will be the plan for BlackPink and who will produce their music, becauee let's be honest, Teddy was the mastermind. But hear me out, I am pretty sure the group contract has some points on their individual image, so I am not worried about that.

Yeah and YG hired more producers recently but I hope to see the girls writing more of their music. They're a senior group now, they should be able to give creative input into their music and concepts.

Back in the third generation K-pop main/lead vocalist used to have good beltings, low registers, riffs, runs and high notes.

YG promised that 2NE1 would have an album by summer and then by the winter disbanded them out of nowhere. This is pretty much karma for YG at this point for the mistreatment for their artists.
