I use to listen to the carpenters when I was growing up. felt sad when Karen died of anorexia. she had such a beautiful voice. thanks for bringing the memories and a beautiful song back.

When I was young I'd listen to the radio Waitin' for my favorite songs When they played I'd sing along It made me smile. Those were such happy times And not so long ago How I wondered where they'd gone But they're back again Just like a long lost friend All the songs I loved so well. Every Sha-la-la-la Every Wo-o-wo-o Still shines Every shing-a-ling-a-ling That they're startin' to sing's So fine. When they get to the part Where he's breakin' her heart It can really make me cry Just like before It's yesterday once more. Lookin' back on how it was In years gone by And the good times that I had Makes today seem rather sad So much has changed. It was songs of love that I would sing to then And I'd memorize each word Those old melodies Still sound so good to me As they melt the years away. Every Sha-la-la-la Every Wo-o-wo-o Still shines Every shing-a-ling-a-ling That they're startin' to sing's So fine. All my best memories Come back clearly to me Some can even make me cry. So beautifully done. I'm an old Carpenters fan and love their music. Still. I thought "nobody would dare sing a Karen Carpenter song". You did and you sang in wonderfully. What a beautiful voice (and smile) you have of your own. Applauds.

You know what i like about this is the fact that Gigi has a "classy" voice. It's not a generic pop voice, and she isnt trying to sound like somebody else. She could probably do any genre of music.

Beautiful rendition of one of Karen’s best songs-you did it so well, you reminded me of how much I miss her and how important it is that we take anorexia and mental health disorders very seriously. As a physician, I have had to see too many amazing people lost to these diseases. We all need to stay aware and be willing to speak up when we see family members and friends struggling. I am glad you did a number of her songs and based on views of your Carpenter’s song covers, I am not the only one deeply moved by Karen and the beautiful tribute you have paid to her. During my graduate school I met a fellow chinese classmate, we fell in love and got married. Unbeknownst to me then, and until youtube algorism recommended your video, my wife looks like you, although a bit older now. It was one of the popular songs introduced into China in the early1990s. In most colleges in China, the song was broadcast when students were taking English classes or preparing the English capability tests such as Level 3, 4 and 6. If you were a student at that time studying in the evening at the campus, you would hear this song. @@antislutful
