I can’t wait to get one installed on my truck after 2 failures on my previous truck.

Is the stock fuel water separator and fuel filter the best option? or would the SPE Motorsports system be better?

Will this pump work on the new HO Powerstrokes? Thanks.

We have been running one on our 2023 HO since March without any issue. All of the data collected looks good so far, but we want to be certain before we give the green light.

Well, I'm sold. I have a DPK on, so when the CP4 pukes, it's getting one of these installed. I maintain it well, use good additives and fuel, but you can never tell when you might pick up a mixed up tank of fuel. After seeing the differences between the CP4 and DCr guts, no doubt, it's the Time of fuel pumps, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Thanks for showing this, it's _exactly_ the kind of test I was hoping to see. I installed my new DPK 6,000 miles ago, and with no debris showing in the filter it looks like my CPK is fine. If that changes I know what the new pump will be.

Thank you for coming up with a better pump. I installed mine almost a week ago, and all I can say is the quality of the parts are excellent. The instructions are excellent as well. On a side note I just seen another company say your flow numbers are bs. As they supposedly tested the DCR on their test bench. I am thinking they are pretty butt hurt due to the fact your company found something better than a cp4. They obviously rebuild them to supposedly make the pump better.

Can’t wait for the 2020 to come out. We have our shop truck in need of one and a bunch of our customers as well.

Anyone else would like to see a video of a DCR pump actually pushed to the point of breaking? All parts eventually fail, the question is how this design handles it. Anyone with a DCR pump with a catastrophic failure out there to comment?

We'll do our best to clean it out. Based on testing, we think the current fuel system can handle a few flakes that may be floating around. The only reason it threw a code was due to a clogged DRV/PCV on the rail. While it would be possible to clean the rust off of the DRV screen, we'll likely replace that part of the system since it was the reason for the high rail pressure code.

It's up to you. We've seen failed CP4s with fairly low miles and we've heard of trucks with 200K+ still running the original pump. We can't put a mileage on when they fail. With a DCR installed, the chances of your fuel system surviving bad fuel is greatly increased, just like the truck in this video.

Not sure if this question has been asked. Doing the DCR replacement kit do we need to run the filter that was needed for the CP4? 2018 F250 6.7 with 50k what I’m working with. Camping and adventure weekend truck hints the low miles

If you are talking about the return filter from the DPK, you will not need that with a DCR.

The DCR now in my 2016 is worth every penny paid in peace of mind alone. Expecting at least 200K worry free miles, possibly more with ongoing recommended maintenance. That CP4 was producing more gray hairs every time truck started.

It was about 70K. at 74 now.

Ill be looking to do this to my 22 when warranty is out. No offense but got to let the bugs work out if there is any. I do like the design im curious why Ford hasnt come up with something like this as good of engineering that they have. With it being softer material wouldnt that cause it to wear faster but safer I guess theoretically? Im a machinist/cnc shop owner and do lost of pumps for various reasons and they mainly use a brass or bronze in heavy pumps. They wear over time but by design.

No offense taken, we appreciate skepticism. There's too many aftermarket companies that make big claims without the data and testing to back it up. We look forward to earning your business the hard way, with real-world results in the test of time. Yes, in theory, softer bearings will wear quicker than hard bearings. Luke does a great job explaining this trade off at the 5:00 mark. The bushing material is soft by design and will still hold up for a very long time due to the layer of fuel that the bushings ride on. They are pressure-lubricated just like engine bearings.

Dcr for the win. Too bad I didn’t wait for the updated version but overall same thing.

i'm curious about engine hrs to pump life, how long can the DCR pump last?

Do you recommend replacing the DCR at any number of miles, or is it fine to just run it with no service and if it fails, just replace it then?

Great question. You do not need to replace the DCR unless it fails. This is exactly what we are doing with the truck in this video. We know that the DCR took a little damage, but testing showed that it was still in good condition. We're going to keep running it and see if anything happens. If it does fail, we're confident that any debris will be sent out the pump return. Also, keep in mind that the DCR does not have a hardened tool steel cam and roller like a CP4. Any debris is likely to be soft bushing material. We'll be sure to let you all know the results if it does eventually fail. So far so good. The RustEater is still running without any issues and putting in work daily.

Did you decide to pull off the aftermarket lift pump? Curious if the customer will want different filtration after this incident.

Unfortunately, Dane no longer has the factory pump and stage 1 filter. We're going to use CAT filters with a water drain on the aftermarket supply pump and use an H&S filter/housing for the second stage filter.

Assume an aftermarket fuel filter is installed with the secondary engine fuel filter deleted and the new S&S DCR pump (same setup as the F250 in the original video). Assume also, the fuel filter generates some level of rust and particulates as you've shown. Wouldn't the rust particles be carried by the fuel to the DCR pump? How does the DCR pump protect the injectors and rails from the rust generated by the water separator canister? I was shocked to see the amount of rust you showed in the video when you opened the fuel filter canasters. I believe the water separator canister in the video did not have a drain valve but used a water absorbing media, still water must have contacted the inside metal surface of the canister to cause rust. No description was given how long the fuel filters had been in service or for how many miles, but there was a lot of rust. I'm interested in either an S&S disaster kit or the new S&S DCR pump to protect my 2018 F350 6.7L (43,000 miles). It has a new FASS Titanium fuel filter system (140 GPM) with engine filter delete that was recently installed. The extreme water separator does not have a drain valve but uses a micro-glass media to absorb water. The folks at FASS assure me that their testing has not shown any evidence of rust accumulation. I'm thinking also the DCR pump eliminates the disaster kit. Appreciate your reply.

Yes, this truck had an aftermarket supply pump and the secondary filter was removed. The DCR pump does not stop rust or water from entering the high-pressure fuel system, moreover, it is resistant to rust and water and does not fail. Per our testing, the Bosch piezo injectors can handle some rust and water, but they can't handle the hardened tool steel that is produced when a CP4 fails. The filters had roughly 3 months and 6,000 miles on them. The Disaster Prevention Kit is not needed with a DCR and the two are not compatible with each other. Both will protect your high-pressure fuel system, yet the DPK cannot prevent a CP4 failure. One is great protection for a great price, the other is a complete solution for a fair price.

Do you think Ford will now switch to possibly your DCR and no longer install the CP4 in the new trucks? I'm looking to order a new F550 in early 2024. Would be nice to know I did not have to tear a new CP$ out and replace with the DCR. Since i will be traveling far from ford dealers, such as up in northern Yukon, a warranty does me know good when I'm not anywhere near a dealer.

There are long-standing supplier relationships at play, but anything is possible. Like Luke had mentioned, Bosch quality is top notch and their injectors appear to be just as durable as the DCR when ingesting water and rust. The CP4 is a great pump in a perfect world with pristine fuel, but that's not the world we live in.

I currently run a CP3 in front of my CP4 because I’m running 100% over S&S injectors. Can I still use the DCR pump to replace the CP4?

Yes. It will drop right in and have the same pump curve as a CP4.

It should they are currently testing it in HO trucks. The CP4 is only .5mm stroke different between last year's model and this year model
