John Nettleton, who played the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Arnold Robinson, in 'Yes Minister', died recently age 94. Seeing him here is to be reminded of what a fine character actor he was and what a wonderful contribution he made to the show

The coherence of Humphrey's extended speenches is incredible. No matter how long he goes on, if you listen carefully and attend to every word, he's never speaking gibberish, even when it sounds like nonsense. Nigel Hawthorne's memory bank must've been bursting at the brim by the end of these series.

The sad thing is how this show is getting more and more relatable everyday.

The train carriage scene is simply brilliant. John Savident was a great addition to a stellar cast 👌

Apart from the writing and performances, which I don't think have ever been equalled in BBC comedy, what stands out for me is that, in the world of politics, nothing has changed! This is as relevant today as it was 40 years ago.

Faultless writing and acting. I'm rereading the Complete Yes Minister and Prime Minister. Please try and get hold of them. Written in the form of political diaries, "edited" by the authors.

21:31 is one of my favourite scenes in the whole series. Hacker finally beats Humphrey at his own game. Shame the whole scene isn't played. Seeing Humphreys smug face from the start of the interview go to shear panic in an instant is comedy gold.

This is the first time I noticed Hacker crumpling the paper😀. And I have been rewatching this show so many times over the years. What a show! You always notice something new each time.

This series is about "the swamp"...that ubiquitous, omnipresent, eternal corps of underlings who actually run the show.

Its (half) of a english saying. "if mohammad wont come to the mountain, the mountain shall go to mohammad" If you cannot do things the easy and obvious way, then you might as well do them the hard and roundabout way.

Watching shows like this just illiterates the demise of the the bbc . They no longer have the the will and skill to write a show as clever as this.
