Yes, connect Reolink Video Doorbell v1 to existing chimes!
The #reolink video doorbell can not be connected to your existing chime with the connected wires. Not on the Wifi or PoE version.
This is a problem if you want to keep using your existing chimes, electronic or mechanical.
Fortunately, the Reolink doorbell v1 sends a wireless signal to the Reolink wireless chime.
!! Reolink v2 does not work with this receiver since v2 uses 900MHz !!
This wireless signal can be used in combination with a standard 433MHz receiver. This receiver can then activate your existing doorbell chime.
It is easy to do this.
Disconnect the doorbell switch and connect those wires to the wireless receiver. This receiver will act as the doorbell switch.
The wireless receiver needs to be powered by a 12 volt DC power adapter.
Then connect the Reolink doorbell to the supplied power adapter as described in the manual.
Press the learn button on the wireless receiver and
Press the Reolink doorbell button.
The Reolink doorbell is now working with your existing chimes!

Maybe you can do a video showing actually how the connections are made. The Michael guy just keeps saying follow the schematics, which is not clear enough for many of us. The bought the adapter and a 433mhz receiver. Have the wifi version of reolink but not understanding what's connecting the reolink doorbell to the adapter and so forth.
Nice work - thanks for sharing. I did this slightly differently, by fitting a 3A 12V transformer to run everything. I cut the wiring to the bell push and chime, then used the +12V to power the receiver and the Reolink doorbell. Once that was working I wired the chime between the receiver's "Common" and "Negative", and connected "Normally Open" to "Positive". It worked okay, but I have a "ding-dong" bell which only rings when power is connected or disconnected. To make it ring three times, I installed a timer relay between the receiver and the chime, and set it to On for half a second and off for a second. End result, I get a nice "ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong" when someone presses my doorbell :) Thanks for sharing the secret about the availability of the receiver relays! The one I used was a little different, but the key is to find one that's advertised as using the "Princeton" or "EV1527" protocol.

Hi @electrickery. Which timer relay did you use? Do you have a link for me? Thanks
can you power reolink bell with same transformer
Does this also work with the new Eufy doorbell? I need extra chimes for my parents.
Hi! Great video. Looking for a solution like this. One question tho, i dont have the “ding-dong”-chime but the mechanical tring chime. What do you expect here. A very short ring? How long will the relay make contact? Thanks in advance!

Hi! The relay makes approx 1-2sec contact. Long enough for tring chime. !

Hi Joey, the doorbell is sending a 433 signal, so you need a 433 receiver. Zigbee will not work.
Hi Great video, Is it possibel to us the DC power adapter that's is supplied with the Reolink doorbel, to power the doorbel and this 433 reciever?

Don't think there is a power adapter supplied with the Reoling POE doorbell. There is a power adapter supplied with the WIFI version, but this is 24V DC. You cannot use this directly with the wireless receiver, since this needs 12V DC.
It's a good solution but what I really wanna do is solder in a second or throw on top of the existing button a second GPIO button that somehow shorts the 2 AC wires from my existing 10W transformer, then I power and leverage video via POE. Reliability of analog but with the convenience and features of digital - haven't seen it done yet but I'm sure it's possible without a relay - just need to engineer a way to terminate the AC wires and short them while keeping the rest of the device intact
How do I connect my Reolink wifi camera door bell to my Nicor tansformer/chime system? When I connect the 2 wires to the camera my house door bell chimes constantly. How do I turn off the house door bell chime? I have the Reolink chime door plugin chime.

If you want to connect the chime, follow the instructions in the video: You need an additional receiver.
I watched the video on that Ali express link and they had two button activating the switch. Does this mean I can have two reolink doorbells on the same 433mhz receiver?
@michielcornelissen2430

Yes, with some of the receivers, you can do this
Can you go way more into detail on this? In the end you just have it set up on a piece of cardboard. Can you show it set up and used normally? Can you also show what 12v DC adapter you used with a link to where to buy it? Thank you.

The setup in the electrical meter cabinet is less clear than the example shown. You can use following 12v adapter: www.amazon.nl/dp/B01G0Q3RWU Hope it is clear!
Ran into 2 issues, 1. My doorbell chime wires had to be shorted to power the Reolink doorbell. So I needed a 2nd power source for the chime. I end up using the adapter from the reolink doorbell package. 2. The DieseRC 433Mhz Universal Wireless Remote Control that was linked did not want to learn the signal from my Reolink doorbell(wifi version), not sure if it is because Reolink changed it or something. However I then remember I had broadlink pro with RF remote. I end up using that through the home assistant integration. non-issue issues 3. There is no way to set the chime that was included with the Reolink doorbell on a schedule. Because of that, if I were to have succeeded in connecting the Reolink doorbell directly to the DieseRC 433Mhz Universal Wireless Remote Control, I would have no way to control when it snoozes without another smart switch.
Hi nice work... I have a question so my existing chime has a transformer and is connected to the electrical current and if i connect this adapter 433 mhz need to connect it too another 12v adapter?

How far can the 433 Mhz universal wireless switch be from the Reolink doorbell?
@michielcornelissen2430

Quite far. 20m if not too obstructed. But you can test this before buying the wireless receiver. You can test it with the supplied Reolink chime.
In case I have the 900Mhz version, is there a receiver available somewhere for pairing? And are you sure it is 900 or 868 Mhz?
Do you have a link to a suitable 433Mhz receiver that would do this? Thank you.

It could be that your existing doorbell transformer isn't big enough (unable to provide enough electrical current). Usually the doorbell transformer is 5VA or 10VA. Try to use the 30VA (12 - 24V, 30VA).
What wires are used? Is the little remote attached to the home doorbell chime after the connection is made? I did purchased the adapter and little remote you suggested but I have no clue what to do next. Is it possible you could do a video actually putting this together? Sorry I am a 63 year woman who is non-savvy. Thanks for reading this.

the schematic how to connect the wireless receiver to the power source and doorbell is shown in the video. you might need a savvy-er person to connect it..
I use this method however the module is not being programmed to the RF signal coming from the reolink doorbell. I had to use another wireless doorbell and now it is connected to the old chime. The downside is that I have two doorbells connected outside by the way the boys can be powered by a battery 🔋
Excellent idea! Just ordered a similar 433MHz receiver (your links don't show results).
When you say "disconnect the doorbell switch" .. how will the Reolink be powered (wifi version) ? it still needs the 12V from the existing doorbell transformer..
