Building isn't necessarily about being good. Just throw a bunch of your favorite cards together, play test a metric ton, and make adjustments based on what your deck struggles to do or against. Thats how I have always built my decks, and most people hate going against my decks. Mainly because I stumble into "oops I win" combos

To be fair, vigilance is one of the most respectable keywords out there because it says "I want to charge headfirst into combat and defend my hometown" and I can stand by that but the other two are just unblockable the same way ward is hexproof.

To be fair, flying and menace is one of the most disrespectful keyword combos for an Esper player and is classified as a hate crime on MTGO.

As a long time Yennet player, it is BULLSHIT that she has all of that evasion just to be an ATTACK trigger and not a combat damage trigger.

If you don't reveal an odd cmc card you draw it. A land is not an odd cmc card, therefore Yennett says "draw lands or cast free stuff" and now we all know that Yennett is just a Simic card in denial.

Was coming down to the comments to say this, the trick with Cascade is that it risks pulling out cards when you don't want them, but if you make the cards you don't want to fizzle just not have an odd CMC it goes from a deckbuilding challenge to intelligently braindead.

Sphinxes are definitely furry. Especially because there's different kinds. Some have ram heads.

Fun fact: Thantis War Weaver's MTG ruling says 'You cannot use your own creatures to attack yourself and give Thantis +1/+1 but she appreciates the way you think' and I find that endearing.

My opinion of cost numbers in MTG: 0: Not fair to judge, the cost is in the text. 1: The first sign of things being free. Despite its status, it is weirdly often how it is the lynchpin in a gameplan. 2: Vinny's Cheapo Cards lot. Are simple, do maybe 1 thing, and then fuck off and die. 3: Now we are cooking with gas. The minimum for any tricolor deck. You can get buckwild with this. There aren't many wincons, but there is certainly a lot of fun stuff. My favorite yCMC 4: This is where the fun really gets going. They will have 2 abilities, and a score that means that if you are no here to fight them stop wasting your time. 5: A number of power. The climb to the summit begins here. If you have a card worth 5, it better be worth it. 6: Ok, I mean now it is getting overly bougie. We are approaching territory of cards that exist to do crimes for. 7: Yeah, now that is a number. This is where wincons begin. 8: You better be playing well, because to get here you need to EARN it. 9+: This card exists only in the graveyard, and only for you to Victimize it back to life on BOGO.

I mean, I did build a Dimir reanimator deck around the number 9, because of Grozoth. Did work just about too. X03

I has won a suprising number of games including a full one turn table whipe against highly interactive higher power decks. Alway check for Soul of eternity.
