I have this keyboard and one day I spilled soda on it. I thought it’s already ruined anyways so why not try putting it in the dishwasher. I did and it cleaned it like new. I plugged it into the computer. It was dead. BUT after a few days I tried again and it worked. So after that any time it got dirty I’d do the same thing. Dishwasher. Keep it facing down over the sink for a day or two so the water will drain out and then plug it back in. It’s never failed. I’m typing this comment on it now. I’ve done this at least 50 times

Yeah no. Nobody listen to this. A keyboard is full of electronic components and you will permanently kill it. The water will fry it plus the amount of heat loosen all the glue on the chips. It will not work. This is almost microwaving your phone level bullshit.

Melamine sponges are the work of HEAVEN! Seriously whoever invented those things needs to be given praise FOREVER! They are lifesaving!!!

This was my absolute all time favourite keyboard. It’s incredibly satisfying and nostalgic to see you clean it up so beautifully. How I would love to have one of these now 😊

Amazes me that this keyboard's only from 2003. It looks so much older at the start of the video, like something from the '80s. _Wow._ I've taken apart my old MacBook Pro (2008) to replace the keyboard and the trackpad (and to clean it out), but never to this extent. I'm amazed / impressed.

I remember putting these kind of apple keyboards together on a production line back in the early 90s in Ireland.

Awesome job, Restoration EG. Even I prefer Windows 10 rather than Windows 11, can the keyboard be compatible for Windows 10 computers?

I defenetely sure that you just bought this keyboard in clear condision and then put some dirt on it, because it impossible to make yellowed plastic wite just with soap and sponge.

Heard hair bleaching developer is used on mid century modern plastic furniture/shelving to get it white again

😅 i genuinely thought this was a wooden keyboard at first glance of the thumbnail. Even went so far as to missread the title as some sort of yellow wood apple tree

Repeat after me: "'Because it's an Apple' isn't a good enough reason to throw my keyboard in the compost pile."

normally keyboard turning yellow cable should yellow first so is that difficult let keyboard dirty than clean it?

If anyone knows of a similar channel where the person talks through and explains each thing they are doing instead of doing it silently, please mention it, I would appreciate it very much.

For those wondering - "hair oxygen creme" is peroxide.

I can't imagine this is worth the effort outside of nostalgia/sentimental purposes.
