Engine looks just like my 87 3.0.. I always thought all 86 were the 2.8.. guess we all learned something!

As I see more and more of the 86-88's come up for sale, I'm realizing just how rare the 2.3 and 2.8's must have been, because it seems like the 3.0 was being put into almost all of them. Never would have learned all this without the great Aerostar community! Glad you sold your wheels btw, finally got my 86 back in my driveway, have some more mechanical things to take care of before I get to aesthetics, but am trying to pin down exactly what direction I'm going to take with the wheels. The 3 spoke mustang wheels have me a bit smitten at the moment. Janky do Thanky as always

Saw an Aerostar at the junkyard with zero rust on it but it was in a front end collision. Pretty wild never seen that before

I haven't heard great things about their front end safety, (there are crash test videos out there) but I do think it was about average for that time period.) Bummer it ended up in the yard, but hopefully the parts can serve someone well in keeping their Aerostar(s) on the road. Its hard to fathom just how big a number 2 million is, but luckily despite the crashes and junkyards and cash for clunkers, there are still more Aerostars out there than I can attempt to keep track of. Janky do thanky for the comment and sorry for the late reply
