My 97 extended AWD Aerostar is currently in the body shop getting all the rusty rockers fixed! I'm ready to have it home.. having to use my 87 shorty as my work van! You know I love these beasts.. I'd fix them all if I could!

Wow! Good on you for getting the '97 some TLC. Very curious, do they have to buy specific sheet-metal rockers or are they able to fabricate it from scratch?Perhaps it depends on how far up the rust goes? Would be very eager to know how you make out with this, as my '93 has a giant hole on one side that needs some metal welded into it. Hope the '87 is serving diligently in the '97's place! So astounded by your Aero collection, definitely an inspiration to me. Janky do thanky, let me know how it turns out! Yes, I would never stop buying them as well if resources permitted

The 87 is doing great! Almost at 197,000 miles and going strong. There is a company in Cleveland ohio that still makes the rockers. They are aftermarket, but better than nothing! The body shop is fabricating some metal pieces.@@JankyAF

Your channel is wonderful. I had a janky 1974 AMC Hornet wagon , called the sportabout., with plastic wood panels over army green.

Wow! I am going to do some research on this vehicle, as I'm not super familiar with AMC stuff outside of the Eagle and the Javelin, thanks for giving me something to dive into. Plastic wood paneling on an Aerostar is definitely a goal of mine, I'm sure I'll get there some day. Janky do Thanky for the kind words!
