Just a suggestion, on that tack room, throw up some wood paneling on the insulated walls. On the block wall, put plastic on that, then runners, then the paneling (you could insulate as well) - Them stacked stone foundation walls are awesome!

Been meaning to reply to this forever. I of course take your suggestions with eagerness because ive seen the level of your craftsmanship. So on the styrofoam insulated walls, do i need little firring strips or nailers, i think the insulation is sitting directly up against the block foundation. (that whole little area was dug out more recently so its all a new block foundation except for the entry into the rest of the basement) I was wondering if I could just take joint compound and do like a funky textured swirl coat directly onto the styrofoam and then paint it. When you say plastic on the exposed block wall, do you just mean a thin sheet like a moisture barrier? Once i got over the fear of living on top of literally just a pile of rocks, I came to really appreciate the stacked stone foundation. There is mortar on a lot of it now that looks like its been added over time. Ton of these all over the northeast, I'm sure you had them in your old stomping grounds back east. House has some really cool old touches, previous owners did a lot of work with new plumbing and electric so its kind of the best of both worlds. get to your most recent comment in a bit...janky do thanky

Janky do Thanky! I think there are a lot of us folks out there, the TV likes to show us all polished and perfect people buying lots of new crap all the time, but i think there are many resourceful, economic, and imaginitive folks workin' with what they got and finding value in what others discard. Much apprecianky for your comment.
