I wanted to make a quick video regarding wearing these in public. Sure you can do it but the scenarios I'm seeing online aren't always the safest. Most of us understand safety but please don't let the tiktoks/shorts fool you with these devices.
I think it's important to let buyers know that you technically shouldn't be wearing either of these in super busy/heavy traffic areas. That could be very hazardous and while the passthrough/cameras are fine on both ------ it's still not 100% there! If you want to though, go ahead!
Enjoy your devices! What are you using your VR headsets for?

The main reason not to wear them in public is to not get robbed 😂

I’m glad you said this! I’ve seen so many content creators doing random things like driving while wearing it 😂 good to hear which scenarios it’s actually useful for 👍🏾

It had to be said, I just don't want to mislead people who are interested in buying either of these units. (or any other AR/VR glasses on the market)

the delay is 12ms which is absolutely nothing. the only issue is dynamic range and noise. you can absolutely wear them in public. what kind of accident are you talking about? a two person collision in a walkway? because how can you cause an accident if you're not in car..

While its true the delay is minimal, what isnt minimal is the FOV. That makes HUGE difference, no matter how good the delay is. Your peripheral vision can make or break an accident not necessarily caused by You. Accidents also happen everywhere and by other people, not just in a car.

You will run into limitations with the field of view, screen resolution, and cameras. If you have zero visual impairment, and decide to walk around in these, you will find that the peripheral vision that you are used to relying on will not be present. Not having your peripheral vision when doing something like crossing the street is not ideal. in terms of the resolution, someone without vision impairment would experience the equivalent of nearsightedness. The resolution will not hold up for objects in the distance being seen through the cameras and then the screen. The last thing to be aware of that isn't mentioned in this video is that the high powered lenses in the headset can quickly focus sunlight into a beam that will burn your lenses. Think about the classic scene of a kid cooking ants using the sun and a magnifying glass. That isn't a danger to the person wearing the headset but when taking off the headset outside, you risk destroying your $3500 device.

Lol I’m referring to people walking across streets and etc, in heavy traffic environments *** but do what you wish ! Drivers hit pedestrians all the time, of course I’m referring to extreme conditions! Thanks for tuning in though

Only really appropriate if you are using them to record video, otherwise it is mostly pointless, and definitely a form of FLEXING… 🤔

@@11.Pierre Our intentions with the Vision Pro is mainly for stationary home/work use. My main camera is obviously an iPhone. Otherwise it’s the Lumix GH5II, and a relatively extensive collection of professional lenses, mainly M.Zuiko Pro and Leica… Absolutely the best bang for buck in my opinion, literally capable of anything and everything we need. Grew up with Nikon… 🤔

Yea I mean I use the xreal all the time but nothing that’s actually pass through would be on my head out in public i look at those more like VR goggles where you are kind of in a controlled environment

@@11.Pierreit's mostly for attention and the quick tic tok views. Most are not showing how you actually use it. You can't walk and actually use the device. You can hold a window in front of you while you walk and that's about it.

All true. + Not to mention, you also run the risk of damaging your headset. The lenses act as a magnifier for sunlight and can burn the screens... it's happened with people bringing their quests outside in the past.

Exactly, now the quest gives you a little more wiggle room for like working out (say in your backyard or room) but even then, you still shouldn’t be outside with it.
