People on Twitter and most other social media sites will destroy people’s lives because they like drawings of fictional characters. It’s really insane to me even though I personally do not enjoy loli content. People should help real children and realize that a fictional drawing can’t give consent and doesn’t have thoughts whether it’s young or literally 40.

Science behind this is REALLY freakin interesting. Fictional characters are literally designed to be appealing to various tastes. Even Vsauce has a really good explaination in one of his videos. If irl people had the facial proportions of an anime or cartoon character, it will be nightmare fuel. That is, fictional characters DON'T look similar to people irl. But the reason why we still "see" them as humans is because the features that our brain focuses on to recognize faces and judge emotions are highly, highly exaggerated in them. That is why you can look at a drawn face without a nose and still call it a face but without eyes or mouth you won't. Furthermore, scientists even say that the reason why humans find cartoon/anime aesthetic so appealing and even empathetic because all the features mentioned before are increasingly drawn closer to a baby's proportions because humans have evolved to find babies cute because that gave us the evolutionary advantage to be protective of them. This is also mentioned in the Vsauce video and it's really interesting. I personally also don't like lolis but loli or not, fictional characters DON'T actually look human and are DESIGNED to be appealing to human brain.

Yeah. Just try to have an hallucination of an actual 2D character IRL by any mean (in my case it was SEVERE sleep deprivation, as in, 6 days without sleep, and it only lasted one second, but I imagine that drugs can give the same result for a longer time. Hinagiku from hayate no gotoku, if anyone is curious). It was CREEPY AS HELL. 2D actually isn't that cute in real life. Just like how kigurumi masks are severely off-putting. But that's not what it's made for anyway. So yeah. Long story short, it is nightmare fuel. Don't try the "days and days without any moment of sleep" at home though. Funnily enough, the "appealing proportions" of anime characters that make them appealing also exist in... cats. Cats have the same neotenous features that tend to make people highly protective of them. And it tends to be just as effective for a lot of people.

the whole lolicon argument boils down to almost uncomfortably close to "thought police" territory, I know you have your tastes and that's cool, really if you think anything it's creepy it's okay, it's your right, fetishes and tastes are like that but when you move to basically say "you draw thing, therefore, you're a horrible person and you should go to prison for a *drawing* " yeah...you can see why people tend to gatekeep things

It follows that if you treat drawings the way one would real people, then you would have to extend that to other aspects such as violence. Thus rendering every action game ever "bad". When it comes to these people telling others what they are and are not allowed to like or be attracted to, it literally is thought policing. Freedom of thought might be the single most sacred concept in the world to me and I apply it equally to all people, full stop. So when I see this crap in action I am repulsed at a fundamental level. edit: btw, that first bit is the _reductio ad absurdum_ that actually changed my mind on how the law should treat things like drawings and video games and whatnot, the better part of 20 years ago.

It boils down to people not understanding why adults engaging with minors is wrong. It's a consent violation due to minors not being legally (or morally due to their brain not being fully developed) able to consent. Predators target children not because of attraction to how they look (their are plenty of youthful looking adult women if it was a looks preference). They specifically want a real person with an immature brain to hurt and take advantage of.

This. After arguing with some people who are against it, I've realized that they actually WANT me to think of myself as a P-word!! What the hell? If their goal is to protect minors (real ones not fictional) then gaslighting a bunch of IoIicons into thinking of themselves as P-word monsters it's a terrible idea that can backfire horribly, at the end of the day I just want to enjoy my 2D drawings in peace... I don't think I deserve to feel like a monster for enjoying drawings that don't require any real-life sufferance to be produced. Well, I suppose the artist's wrist might suffer a bit if they put in a lot of work. 😆

In the law, drawings or fictional depictions of minors doing sexual acts is actually against the law. That's why some people have gone to jail for drawing literal children. It doesn't matter if they are real or not. It's meant to be a child. There are so many anime characters that are full grown adults yet I can't understand why anyone would sexualize the little boys and girls. But tbh, do what y'all want. You not recoiling in horror after seeing a drawing of a fictional character the author of which states clearly that the woman in that drawing is supposed to be a flat chested, low height, chubby 30+ year old who is not based on any person in the real world... Means you are guilty of actually being a chomo. Not even a pdf, who has those weird attractions, but hasn't acted on it. A deviant criminal who has touched a minor inappropriately for his/her own twisted pleasure. That's the idea those TP(Twitter Police, Toilet Paper... Either way, full of it.) want to sell to the world. Welcome to the internet. Where even crazies like that have enough of a platform to be heard and can twist the public opinion far enough to influence companies to cease cooperation with innocent people due to a misguided smear campaign they orchestrated.

@@viennasavage9110 Fetishization... Hmmm... From Cambridge Dictionary: Definition 1. an unreasonable amount of importance that is given to something, or an unreasonable interest in something Kinda like what a very loud small group of straights is doing with what other, straight or non-straight, people are doing in the privacy and safety of their own bedrooms(and other flat surfaces around the house)? Definition 2. a sexual interest in an object, a part of the body that is not a sexual organ, or a person as if they are an object. So... What? Interest in rubbing your parts against other people's armpits, and such? Because the other part, the treating people like objects one, sounds like a big chunk of the male population of the world as well as an only slightly smaller chunk of women. Yeah. No third definition I could find. No idea what you're on about. That people who look at images that look nothing like the real thing will start getting interested in the real thing? Start seeing those two as equals? Yeah. No. I may be a person with a rich imagination, but you will never make me think a Big Mac I get served at a McD's looks anything similar to that thing they have on the display and ads. Actual children are repulsive, snot covered, scraped up, misshapen blobs of filth. Not saying I'm into loli. Just saying that even if I was... I honestly wish the world would understand, That just because people disagree on something does not make them enemies. And that people have the right to like, or even dislike something, as long as they don't force their choices onto anyone else. This can be used any way, Like take this Loli, issue. I personally don't like it, but if there's someone who does like it, that's fine. As long as they are not shoving their choices of "my way is right" you're allowed to like what you like. And just because we don't agree, doesn't mean I can't be friends with said person. I wish everyone would understand that, and it even goes for some bigger issues. You can even take Homosexuality. You're allowed to disagree with it. Truly you are. As long as you don't force your choice onto someone who agrees with it, and vice versa. And just because you disagree with Homosexuality, doesn't mean that you and a Homosexual person are enemies and cannot be friends. You can still like a person and disagree with all of their choices. Take for example: I personally don't agree with the whole "open Marriage" concept, Where two people can be Married, in love, but both sides are allowed to freely go and sleep with anyone they want. I don't agree with that. But I know someone who agrees with that lifestyle and lives it. Am I an enemy with that person? No, we can still talk, play games together, I disagree with their life choices, but I don't hate the person. I think people throw around the extremists terms way too easily, You disagree with Homosexuality, you're immediately called Homophobic. You say that liking Fictional character drawing of young girls is fine, You're labeled a Pedo, You say that drawing someone black should not be labeled as "fixing" art, you're called racist. If you disagree with the open Marriage concept, you're called Fascist. ...... Which personally I don't understand how those 2 things go together, but oh well. I think both sides need to calm down and understand that people are allowed to have opinions, as long as they don't force their opinions onto others. There is no difference between the two people. One saying: You cannot be homosexual because I believe so! And the other saying: You must accept me for being homosexual. Both sides are trying to force their own opinions. So you don't agree with them, oh well, that's cool, go on with your lives, you're not enemies. There is so many other problems in the world that need fixing. Instead of attacking drawings of young people, go and help actual young kids, those under abuse. Instead of attack men in the subway for "manspreading" go help the women in other countries who are put to death for being assaulted, because they did something to make the men do that. =/ End of the day, I'll never understand this world.

2:35 Personally, one thing I've noticed is that a lot of people on Twitter love being part of drama. For example, back when I still had an account, I once got "exposed" for not believing in tulpas, and not only was I blocked by numerous strangers who I had never even interacted with, but people who didn't even know what tulpas were blindly took the bully's side. Interestingly, this somewhat ties into the video, but in the opposite direction, because tulpas are basically imaginary friends that people claim are sentient and should be treated as such, and their "tulpa" was of their waifu. So, basically, I was like, "Your waifu isn't real." and got bullied into deactivation as a result. 3:23 Unfortunately, I can relate to you here. Several months after the first incident, I had a new account, and I somehow offended that SAME PERSON, and, to get revenge, they took one of my replies to a zoophile out of context to claim that _I_ was a zoophile, and almost everyone believed it. I had more people blocking me than following me, most of them complete strangers, and I was once again bullied into deactivation. I was so horrified by the thought of people seeing me as such a monster that I had several nightmares about molesting my pets, who I love and care for like little siblings, and I'd feel so bad that I'd repeatedly apologize to them after waking up. But the worst part is, the person who "exposed" me didn't even believe that I was a zoophile themself, nor had they ever expressed interest in protecting animal rights to begin with. They made up a rumor with the sole purpose of getting people to bully me, and, unfortunately, it worked like a charm.

Now let me preface this by saying that I am in no way qualified to make the claim I am about to, this is simply my thoughts on loli "art" based on what I believe to be rational; First of all, let me get the one thing that I AM confidently correct about out of the way, and that is that pedophilia isn't a choice, you don't choose who or what you're attracted to, it's a sexual attraction, and getting rid of that is like getting rid of homosexuality, it's just not gonna happen, this is a fact. So with that being said, our next step should be protecting children, and helping these people cope with their sexuality in a way that doesn't hurt people to aid us in that goal, so rationally speaking, shouldn't people be all for loli stuff? Isn't it a perfect way for those sorts of people to get their rocks off without hurting anyone? Is my logic not sound here? I'm interested to hear RESPECTFUL opinions on this. Disclaimer: I'm in no way insinuating that all loli enjoyers are closeted pedos, because I'm a loli enjoyer myself and I know that to not be the case, thank you

Although my take is the people who tend to act like that aren’t on that side either. Because all they do is desperately need validation to the point where they will pretend to care about serious issues where usually they aren’t. In places where people aren’t getting hurt. What do they do in that delusion? They fucking inflict pain on others while ignoring the actual problem they claim to care about where it actually is. So in short, because they are so god damn vocal, they tend to just hurt the causes they claim to care about.

Here's a grim reality to think about: The internet is very wide and very deep. You can find all sorts of stuff in it, and as sad as it is to say, CP is also easily accessible on it. Although not exclusively on the deep web, go talk or watch someone that does browse through unregulated sites for a little bit and they will likely confirm it. That said, why in the world would an actual potential predator search specifically for lolicon art and publicly show their behavior, instead of going for the thing they're actually fixated upon when it's that easy to find? Other than that, there's just no evidence that fictional media affects the consumer's perspective and/or tastes in real life, unless that person already showed mental issues and the media served as a 'trigger' of sorts. Consuming It might create an addiction to that media, but that's where it ends. All evidences show that other social issues are the ones that actually lead to real world crimes, yet people love to fling the blame on small groups that don't necessarily have many ways to defend themselves and look better in comparison. Because it's easier to do that instead of pursuing for actual solutions, or, what ironically happens a lot, they're trying to appear good on the public eye because they themselves commit the crime they're "fighting" against and don't want others to research an "obviously good person".

@@hannahbg1852 I've heard of some cases where hardcore otakus groomed minors, both boys or girls. But from every survey and research I've seen so far, cases of sexual assault (or any other crime in general) either have an extremely thin connection to fictional content or none at all. It is pretty much 99 times out of 100 related to social issues in a state or country and/or mental illness on part of the aggressor. I don't want to start another discussion on this, just know that I can completely understand your views. It's just that the last time I tried to confront another on this matter, both me and the other person broke off in overly-long and unhealthy rants. But at the very least let me propose a different view on the matter: Just because a criminal likes a certain type of media, doesn't mean that media is made for or by like-minded individuals. There is certainly an umcomfortable ammount of cases where an individual blames their mistakes on a certain addiction, like games, movies, books, etc. Does that automatically mean that everyone that consumes the same types of media as them have or eventually develop the same mentality? Will banning any sort of content which could be considered problematic either "heal" those individuals, or at the very least reduce the ammount of others like them? If out of thousands up to millions of people that consume either violent games, or in this case lolicon art, one of those consumers commits a crime, should all the others be judged the same? And if someone commits the same crime but is addicted to something else entirely, should the thing they consume be taken into consideration and receive the same degree of criticism and ultimately rejected by society? Sorry if this was a bit long, just know that I bear no ill feelings torwards your response. I've seen similar responses many many times on different topics and I know it's a common concern among different people.

It's amazing how people don't accuse artists who do guro or grape as murders or wine makers. So what makes lolicon so different in their eyes?

And over on Instagram they say the exact same thing. Whenever I say provide sources and they only do vague statements. I debunk them and they never respon back as well.

I don't care what anyone is fictionally into. Like the most vile disgusting things, I will not give a shit at all. If it ever enters the realm of reality then I will have a problem with it. it's that simple. Fiction. Reality.

I do treat my characters as real people, but not for the same reason. I do it for the sake of making relatable characters that have coherent behaviors. When one of my characters is confronted to a situation in their story, I always ask myself "how would THEY react to it ?" based on their personality and past experiences, so I'm a 100% sure that they stay in character and have realistic and relatable reactions and thoughts. I basically see them as their own person with their own thoughts and beliefs, because even though they are not real for us, they are real within their world, meaning they still have to stay coherent. When people see these characters, I wanna make sure they think "Wow ! That's how an actual person would react !"

In Russian youtube there's a situation about Metal Family character insulting fan. There's a animated web series made by two people called Metal family. Also they made videos called "[character] answers you questions". In the last of these videos the character Ches, who only loves rock. One of the fans asked "what are you listening to?". Ches said music and went to fan's account,( the fan's face, nickname wasn't blured) listened to fan's favorite music and said "you need a doctor". Fans were shocked because of this. Also there were people saying that it's not authors' fault but character's. They're treating him like a real human too much

Even though I am a lolicon I think the concept is creepy, and I already found real MAPs using the term lolicon as a shield. Also, there are some really realistic loli r18 which I'm pretty sure is illegal and yet no one seens to point it out, not even these anti loli profiles...

The art of Kanna is very cute, fictional characters are not real but we explain this time and time again and Twitter still refuses to accept it.
