Yard Waste Route | Nice and Easy Overtime

Here's my latest video! In this footage, I'm doing yard waste/ organics, adding some extra hours to my workday. Take a moment and enjoy side loader in action, collecting yard waste on a chill Tuesday afternoon. The streets are wide and empty, creating a tranquil atmosphere, which makes this overtime shift especially delightful. It's just me and the open roads, my preferred way to embrace those extra hours with no one else in sight. Enjoy the serene beauty of our yard waste collection journey!

Cool to see you catch another stream! Would you say it's harder to pack recycle than green waste when it's getting full? Did someone break down that day is that why they had you helping? Glad to see you're back with another video!

When you're doing yard waste, or a garbage route you tend to exceed the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) before you finish packing up, as yard waste mainly consists of wet and dry grass or leaves it compacts much better than recycling materials. If you notice evey truck displays a GVWR sticker on its driver's side door where their registration extension sticker goes. Most standard 3 or 4-axle garbage trucks have either a 50,000 lb or 60,000 lb GVWR, depending on whether they are equipped with a tag/drop axle. Notably, recycling trucks, (which I mostly drive) unlike garbage or yard waste trucks, typically lack a tag (4th) axle, resulting in significantly lower weight capacity. Therefore by law I am not supposed to be packing up when doing garbage ord yard waste because my groas weight will be well north of 55,000 pb if that makes sense. To your question yes, Yes. Yard waste and garbage packs way better than recycling materials :)

To the other question, the driver who does this route was on vacation this week. When there is a open residential side loader route they usually break it down into 2-3 separate sections and put it out as re-assignment or OT as we call it.
