Same here and if they drop they don’t pick it up and I’ve had my cans. At the end of my ramp and they’ve thrown them in the bushes broke them etc. I thought they were stolen once almost had to pay for em. My four eyes and cans got em mouth backed that up

We shouldn't & we don't have to. We don't even have to grab it if the kids open, just take a picture & send it dispatch. I always grab em but if anything falls out, I'm not obligated to get it. 9/10 I will but if you habitually do it every week, then you're sol. We all have policies we have to follow 🤷🏽

If you produce a lot of trash you need to get another can, or if you have more garbage that week than what can fit in your can, take it to a dump. Yes its their job but they arent your servants, be respectful

In England the refuse truck won't take that. All waste must be in the bin with the lid closed. Any extra waste should be taken to your local waste sorting site yourself. If the bin lid is open even an inch they will leave it.

If a bag is ripped up and trash is on the ground, yea don't expect garbage man to pick up anymore than the bag itself. That's the home owner's problem. But a big cardboard box, I mean come on, as long it's not soaked the system should have a way to take that.

When ever I have that much I do not stack flat cardboard like that. I position it upright to hold other stuff in the bin. Years ago we had a bunch of wood cabinets to get rid off and we would brake one up each week and put them along the sides of a small metal dumpster to the point where it was twice as high as the dumpster and the guy with his front load said as long as he can pick it up and dump it with one go we would only get charged for one pick up.

I bet British councils would love only having to pay one guy to pick up the refuse. They work in teams of 4 or 5 over here, one of whom is the driver.

As a sideloader driver my self I relate with your videos lol I subscribed and idk how you keep your cool with some of the things people do you must own the company or something lol

It's amazing how garbage collection differs from state to state. Where my mom lived in Ohio people would just pile garbage up at the road without garbage cans. Just bags and boxes. Here in California you have to put your garbage can out facing the right direction and then they pick it up. I can't imagine any of them getting out of the truck for any reason judging by the amount of garbage that ends up on the ground after they go by because of things that fall out

I’m old school. My older brother owned a trash route in Tulsa and I worked for him for about 6 months when I got out of school. Of course we didn’t have the luxury of automated trash can grabbers. We got out and done it all by hand.

Our carts are smaller in the major city I live in. No way would something like that get collected. We have to purchase large stickers for overflow & put it in bags next to the cart. Boxes for recycling must be broken down & stacked vertically next to the cart & if the box is not large enough, it’s left laying right where you put it. Small ones go in a recycling cart; everyone has a trash cart & a recycling cart. You had better get the stuff in the right cart! Also, our carts are not nicely left where they are picked up like these are set down in the video. I find mine blocking my garage, tipped over & mixed up with my neighbors’. We must have our house number on there or we’d all be confused after our trash is picked up every week.

In Aus.. ..garboes would leave it & drive pass like they're so angelic in all proportions.

I would leave the trash if thats the crap they tried to pull on you.

Looks like Someone’s doing some ‘light’ renovation work. In my City they probably would pick that up but that’s just because we have manned trash trucks because we have alleys (which are also just better btw, alleys ftw, never have to take the bins out just carry the trash an extra 30 feet). They might send the solid waste guys (we’re allowed one large item outside of the bins a week) out if it’s not all in/on the bin though

In the city I live in, the waste disposal company reserves the right to skip picking up your trash if it's over filled.

The company we have in my town won't even touch the bin if trash is keeping the lid from closing. They skip your house and leave a notice. They're super strict.

If they are like that where im at they just skip it take a photo send it to the boss and when the people call they get a text of their can 😅

We leave stuff like that behind here. If the City sees it the resident can be fined.

I have to agree with some of the other comments, WM would not take an "overflowing" bin. Also, another question, is this "single stream" trash/recycling as in the contents are either hand or machine separated at a transfer station or landfill. Each recycling bin is photographed when dumped into the truck & if it's contaminated with "unrecyclable materials, you get fined. Welcome to the PRC people's republic of California. Ironically, recycling causes more pollution (More CNG or diesel is used to process/transport everything)

if my customer's lid is not closed I takea picture and go to the next house. the next week the lid is closed. it works like magic. when the customer calls the have to argue with the picture.

When i first started feont load i had customers take advantage that id pickup trash around the can.... i just dont do it anymore. My job is to dump cans, not put it in them. If you habitually just leave a mess around your can dont expect me to clean it

I don't work for the city. I work for a company, that has efficiency quotas (75 yards per hour) And I won't maintain those quotas if I have to stop and clean up a customers mess. My job is to dump the trash in thier dumpster. Not clean up thier property.

The drivers in our department would pick it up and leave anything that falls. If you're going to overfill your cart, you should at least make an attempt to keep it from falling out when serviced. If you constantly do this, get another cart.

How does your cities do that? do they have a trash tax? i dont see how that sort of system makes much sense, the home owner isnt held accountable for how much trash he/she produces and all have to cover people that create much more trash.

The city publicly contracts a company to deal with the cities garbage, these contracts are held an auction so that there's competition and always room to switch out a bad garbage company that doesn't want to do their job like picking up garbage... it's simple, you allocate funds to service your community I mean that's what government is for and if your city isn't doing that then you truly live in a very shitty city

Second, when your municipality signs a contract or the customer agrees to contract you agree to all the rules and policies of collection. You do not pay for extra items outside of the can to be collected… You pay monthly for 1 level of service, the can must be at the curb with the lid fully closed. You pay for that service not extras. And if you don’t like it, call and get a second trash container and pay extra or learn to start minimizing your garbage. Think some times before coming on here and start shitting on random people who have a right to voice their opinions. Besides, you likely have no idea about anything trash related except you pay the bill and you feel entitled to service.. Go back to hell.

That’s not our job Karen. Our job consists of what’s in the can because that’s the service you are paying. You don’t pay for extra services so why do you think you or anybody is entitled to extras being collected? Customer agree that they are responsible for anything not inside the trash cans, it’s usually in the rulebooks of companies.
