Excellent info! I have a stock 2007 XT225, 11,600 miles, and weigh 190, but I’m also 65 years old. The suspension is very soft but I don’t bottom out. It’s survived three off-roading trips in Moab UT which really surprised me. I think it’s light weight is what makes it so useful and fun. The heavier fork oil sounds like a great start for me. I’ll give that a try.

Yeah, that alone with maybe a little extra preload might be all you would need

I just did 300miles in and around Moab last month on my XT225..It did excellent..👍 I did do the fork and shock springs which allow a more spirited pace when the mood arises..very pleased with it..

Nice setup.. I did the .48 kg/mm springs and 15w as I'm a bit heaver at 185, plus the Cogent shock spring as well, Seat Concepts, Clark 4gal.. surprisingly capable trail bikes..at 60yrs old, I think I'm ready to give up my XR650L..it's just so much work to ride any more.. the XT is simply a joy!

I agree, the xt is a blast. How do you like the tank? I was planning on offing one from procycle but haven’t gotten around to it yet, my stock tank is pretty rusty

@@DirtRider22a I really like it. I got the Clarke 4gal. natural color-can see the fuel level- excellent fit and ergos..with the Seat Concepts seat kit and the Serrow decals removed it looks more classic trailbike-less 1990's high schooler commuter..

@@AzPauly nice, I was also planning to get the natural color, is your bike also white? Would love to see a picture of how it looks on it.

I need to adjust the preload on the rear of my 2004 xt225 and am not exactly sure on how that works. How many turns should I go? I would like to be able to carry some gear on a luggage rack and saddle bags and also my body weight of 200lbs.

I adjusted mine as stiff as it would go and I only weigh 170ish

Off topic but I was watching your review of the Burgman 200 and was wondering how things are going you with that? Has it been reliable? I'm thinking of getting one (2022) and because it'll be my daily driver, reliability is a big concern of mine. That and costs to maintain.

For me it had been as reliable as taxes, gas, oil changes, tires etc. I rode it for 8800 miles at 70-75 mph 45min at a time getting to work and back. Never a single issue

No clue, on it when I got it. They are very similar to stock ones on a drz400 and dr200 I used to have. Could maybe find a cheap set of those on eBay someone is selling
