The X-max 400 is 31 kg heavier than the X-max 300 and apart from the extra brake rotor all that weight is in the in the swing-arm engine package, which is unsprung weight. The X-Max 400 engine is updated to Euro4 for 2018, and reasonably powerful, but the basis for that engine is very old and goes back to original Majesty 400. The X-max 300 engine on the other hand is brand new for 2018 from the ground up. It's very fuel efficient and because of the lower unsprung weight the X-max 300 is more agile and handles better. One should really only pick the X-max 400 over the X-max 300 if you plan on only doing highway touring and don't care about fuel consumption.

I wanted a 400cc, but your reaction makes a lot of sense. Maybe going for a 300cc is not really a bad idea.

I’m a Burgman 400 rider but your Yamaha reviews make me want to get one. You’re interesting, funny, observant, and honest. Great videos. Thanks for doing them. I don’t like the reviews with a lot of unnecessary swearing but your comments around 18:30 were hilarious.

Brings back memories of my XMax 125. And its computer was better than my R3 computer.

Great video. This is really a realistic test! Especially in the city between the cars. You made my decision easy. Tomorrow I will buy a used Xmax. I look forward to it...

Nice and honest review Cager! I ve seen your latest review on T-Max 530 as well. I drove 2016 models on small track, and i must say that although Xmax 400 was decent, there is no comparison of the one with the other on anything (besides maintenance costs lol!) But there is a new kid in town for a very competitive price. Its Kymco's AK550. Try and give us a review on that one please :)

It is a sport scooter by definition ! It doesn't have to behave exactly like sports motorcycle to be "sporty"

cager - how does the xmax 400 compare with the tmax in terms of handling (filtering at low speed for instance) and low speed acceleration? i do quite like the looks and lower price of the xmax aswell as the smaller size.

is it longer for leg room like the T max. ? Fix the seat so you can get more leg room !

hello, would like your opinion as you are someone who tested many....i bought honda nc 750x from 2015 with 41.000 km and since 5 months I am driving it and I like it....now I got an offer to change for xmax 400 from 2017 with 21.000 km........now I am suspicious if I should change....i get 2 years newer bike with half of kilometers but i cannot find nowhere how many km xmax 400 can reach in lifetime.....nc can reach 200.000 or more....but xmax ? what would you do in this case

Here in the 🇵🇭Philippines the expressway legal are 400cc and up. This Xmax400 beast is just the right scooter and right size for pinoys that has an average height of 5'4". The Tmax560 is just too big for most pinoys. please bring that beast to us.

Dobra recenzja, ale gdybyś, chociaż na moment przestał mówić i dał spokojnie posłuchać jak pracuje silnik byłoby naprawdę super. Naprawdę to niewiele kosztuje.
