You put a 250 cylinder on a 225 with the rings upside down and it still ran, not to bad :) Overall I enjoyed the video and hope you make more!

I had the same machine back in 1986. Great machine for the time. It did everything I needed it to except the suspension was a bit rough. Lol! That one is in really good shape. Hope it lasts another 20 years. Great video too.

Heck of a job. Rings are always letter up, and the ring gaps have to be spaced according to the service manual, else it'll always be burning oil / smoking. But it runs, so I suppose it doesn't matter. lol

I had one of these. 1988 225. Low range was broke but the way I ride I never would have used it anyways lol. Lots of fun in the winter especially. Had a set of swamp foxes on for tires and they did really well. Lightweight and not too aggressive to where you can't whip the ass end out.

Nice. I had that exact bike but in gray. I gave it pure hell. Rode it like a racing bike sliding and jumping hills. Took it through more mud than you can imagine. I ran a 1” bigger and wider Woolley boogers on the back. It ran for years. Good luck.

You're not frightened to get stuck in Andrew, that came out real nice.... My least favourite part of doing restorations is dealing with corrosion.

Awesome work man. Its amazing how it turned out. Its amazing when you let something sit for a period of time all the damage that rodents can cause to something. All that corrosion on the alumium from the rodent piss. You have an amazing talent for working on things. Keep up the great work!

It’s a shame about the corrosion on the motor. The general condition is fantastic and might merit a donor motor.

I bought a well kept 350 about 18 months ago. Thanks to this video, I now know about the compartment behind the tail light.

Andrew. you are awesome, and thanks for all the great content. I was watching this a noticed when you installed the new piston you placed the numbers facing down on the rings I believe that is incorrect. They should face up. The rings have a bevel and installing them wrong will cause issues with the wiping of the oil on the cylinder walls. Thanks Again!!

If I remember correctly you can block or release the rear differential lock.

A message to your father……My son is close to the same age as yours and when he was young he was constantly with me in the shop but now it’s just a memory. He no longer has any interest. You are a luck man, sir.

Just little tip for the"painter", I use playing cards to mask around wheels when tires are still mounted. Just deflate and tuck them in.

Too bad it only had 2 wheel drive. Where you were going you could have used 4 wheel drive. Good job on getting it going. That corrosion was fierce and even rotted off the throttle cable. You were lucky you had that butt connector to run the throttle or this little woods jaunt would have gone nowheres. Leaving that powersaw by the path wasn't very smart but ya'll just thought it was from the cleanup crew. Some freshly cut logs did let you through but if that jobbie had four wheel you could just head out through the forest.
