Yamaha HS8 VS Adam Audio A7V | Best Studio Monitors🤔?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I will be testing the Yamaha HS8 against the Adam Audio A7V. Which do you think is the best studio monitors 2022. Adam Audio monitors are really great and been having a great time doing an adam audio a7v review. Testing them with my Yamaha hs8s I noticed a few things. One of these studio monitors is the best budget studio monitors. I hope this adam audio a7v test or Yamaha hs8 test helps you determine which you should get.

30KillaBeatz Background
Rapper/Producer 30KillaBeatz/RIch Goat was born Brandon Beasley in Detroit Michigan, 30K was raised by his hard-working mother and stepfather in multiple locations such as Virginia, Tennessee, Germany, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Hawaii because of his father's affiliation with the military. He was also known for getting in trouble in school and starting fights. After school, he would go to the Youth Center and wait till his parents picked him up after they got off work. There he saw an old piano that the other kids would play with from time to time. He was amazed and started messing with it himself. He got so good he played one of Beethoven's songs in front of the whole school. All the other parents were amazed and asked his mom if young 30K could teach their kids how to play the piano.

For the price point of the HS8 you can't deny that it's a great value. The fact that it's even in the conversation with more expensive monitors speaks volumes😂

@@user-eu6wp6ws7c What? You can get a pair of HS8s for $600 new right now (November 2023). At that price the Adams are nearly three times the price. That's a huge difference.

Thanks for the test. Help me a lot. 👍 I just bought the A7V and with the « UNR » mode, definitely no need for a sub. The bass are sufficient and more precise than my old Tapco S8 (Mackie). These monitors are fabulous, I recommend. 👌

Hi, thanks for the video. Have you calibrated both speakers? Because it sounds as if the A7Vs are calibrated and the Yamahas are not. I calibrated my HS8s to my room with ARC3 and the difference is night and day.

My personal preference goes to HS8 after watching this video. Yes AA sound a bit more in heights, due to that they sound clearer. However in HS8 the sound is still perfectly clear but filled with that sweet mids 👍

Yamaha HS8 for me. Mixing is not for the studio, final mix is for the consumer. Many consumer speakers have a V or U shaped EQ curve. So mixing on a more neutral speaker should WOW the Klipsch fan consumers, for example. Final mix must be tested on different types of consumer equipment. Then pick your favorite monitor. That is what I do. So far my mix has been popular with the average joe. Thanks for the video. Mixing is very tricky and often counter intuitive.

I have the yamahas and they're awful.. I have Focals, dynoaudio and genelecs. The yamahas out of all of them give the worst mix over emphazing the mids and highs giving a false impression. They also have the worse bass response.

Get what you are saying, having some ugly favourites as well, yet this is why I find monitor discussion as one of most subjective, because despite the charts, measurements or marketing tricks - the final decision is the matter of beauty in the eye of beholder, and ear in particular acoustic space with particular monitor - as you will find literally extreme number of people, me included, having quite opposite experience with HS8 to yours, and not only in this price range, as you can find more than a few, who would say HS8 deliver next to a finer stuff without a shadow of the doubt, having these next to some much more expensive monitors. In any case - and that we can agree on - room / acoustics are crucial factor of subjective perception / objective measurements. Cheers!

Despite the fact I love HS8 here, and obvious differences between these in the question, there are certain areas I would say Adam A7 do provide super clear picture within mid part of the bandwidth, but would not call them superior in the highs - super detailed, although different to HS8. Nevertheless both monitors on are "brighter" side of that end, some may call harsh. I found Yams tight, and quite revealing all across the spectrum, especially in higher mids. In general they have not any significant deficiencies in translation, thats where I find their greatest value - they work as a tool. Perhaps I'd call them very slightly laid back in the mid to low mid area, but they provide very tight and punchy lows. Would not say the particular A7 is superior in the highs explicitly, but found them extremely useful in lots of decisive situations over the higher register, especially as 2nd monitor next to 8inch since they naturally provide the mid end detail and clarity with general balance. 8inch HS, although pretty flat across the board seems bit laid back with mids in comparison to 6,5" or smaller as these tend (at least subjectively to me ) to deliver to listener more information across the mids in general. HS8 can sing super sweet when in properly treated room but are not immune, nor forgiving in terms of space or placement, as perhaps lots of 8" inch monitors do. My personal experience was night and day - 1st time heard HS8 in small untreated room - they were ugly, all over, of course, as would perform any monitor. Then took them to well treated place, and was blown out by their detailed sound with fizzy highend, tight lows and punch / transient response. When installed them in my well treated place, I was surprised how I felt every 5-10cm change in their positioning, when setting them up. Adams are stable benchmark, they deliver and I would say they complement HS8 more than perfectly. Enjoy these !!!

I just bought the A7Vs following the advice, in particular of this video, and I regret it. I was thinking of upgrading from the yamaha HS8 to the A7V which cost double. But the HS8 sounds a lot bigger, they're a lot more bass friendly and have huge headroom, I've never used more than half the volume on them. While the A7V seem to me like locked in a box. by increasing the volume the bass saturates quickly with an overload indicator on the LED. The settings on the back of the speaker are almost as useless as on the HS8, and the DSP will never be useful to me because it's much too tiresome to implement and you have to pay for a software subscription. The bass vents at the front may have reduced the clutter in the bass a little, but there is above all less bass altogether. The only advantage is a very slightly more open sound in the treble with the ribbon twitters, but then the gain is really ridiculous in my opinion. To take advantage of ADAM audio you would also have to spend 500 Dollars on a subass system like in this video

@@30killabeatz No I didn't ... and it's seems to be a lil bit complicated :( Because I have to update my mac to big sure or later, I have to buy some ethernet interface, and the dedicated microphone. Then the real shame is that we have to pay after the 60 day trial version, if i well understand. For a 1200€ pair... it's hard. To deal with the lack of bass in my pair, I'm going to have to buy a sub7 pro that costs almost the price of the HS8. The HS8 was a compact system that didn't require a subwoofer for my use. Once I got the $500 subwoofer and calibrated my speakers with all the crap that entails, I'd probably have something far superior to the HS8. But it will have cost me 2000€ against 600€. If I had known that I would have to stick a subwoofer, I would have chosen smaller and cheaper speakers at adam audio than the A7V model, because it is useless to have such large speakers in a 2.1 system, where the low frequencies are splitted
