I traveled to Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan.
Yamaguchi City was chosen as the third place in the New York Times' list of 52 places to visit in the world in 2024.
This time, I'm not traveling to Yamaguchi City, but the whole of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Eh? Isn't Yamaguchi a rural area?! Is there anything interesting there?! Is it even a tourist spot?!
I thought so before I went there, but I was surprised, it was very interesting and the food was delicious.
This was the second day, and I started from Yamaguchi City. Unfortunately, the five-story pagoda was under construction, but the park was interesting. From there, I stopped by a temple said to have been designed by Sesshu and a temple full of cats, and then went to the World Heritage Site of Hagi. What is a reverberatory furnace? It's so cool!
I was also able to see the karst plateau called Akiyoshidai, and enjoyed the limestone cave below it. I wonder how many years it's been since I last went to a limestone cave!

I booked a hotel through agoda, and it was the cheapest I've seen in Japan.
I had the impression that agoda is cheap and convenient overseas, but not so great in Japan, so I was surprised.
