I remember getting to the ending of Kiwami 2, and being like "it's okay, Ryuji survived too! I know I saw him on the cover of one of these other games!" Then I went looking and oops, it was Dead Souls which isn't canon. RIP Ryuji. 😭

If they can do that, maybe they can with Ryuji, but I don't see it sadly.

Yes. Both, he and Kiryu are indeed noble like dragons, and rough, that's why Ryuji is a bit difficult to like, but he is not bad. But as nobody is perfect, his only defect was his obsession with being number one. To be the only dragon.

Hands down, the best villain in Yakuza. No big schemes involving money, no plans to grab power, he just wants to fight Kiryu on his own terms and died with no regrets.

Or at the very least a prequel with Kuze like 0 did with Kiryu and Majima, look how 0 did wonders for Nishiki's character, and how it made Kiwami 1's final fight ten times better. Same thing could be done again with Ryuji and Kuze

Anybody realized Kiryu and Ryuji's gunshot wound is mirrored? Kiryu is shot on his right shoulder and left waist and Ryuji is on left shoulder right waist

Ryuji had 10 health bars, more than any other enemy in any other game, even any of the Amons'. To me it signifies that he was Kiryu's ultimate opponent, the only one equal & worthy to become "the one Dragon."

10 health bars mean nothing when kiryu can destroy 3 of them in 1 heath action. Kiwami 2 health bars are different from the rest of the series

Playing the old yakuza games, it's kinda sad seeing the remnants of both clans just fighting it out with such thin numbers to their ranks. Considering the Yakuza Kiwami and 0, when they're were thousands of men strong, tens of thousands and more. Just sad. It's like seeing it all collapse after being torn apart year after year, Tojo Clan not being able to recover with the constant scandals and more.

Say what you want about yakuza but they know how to introduce their antagonists. This scene with goda is fucking badass. Intimidating

The entire game I thought Sayama would die, Ryuji was the only person I didn't want to die throughout the entire game

Ryuji’s behavior before he found out kiryu was the dragon of dojima was his real behavior. A boss like that is worth following to hell and back.

They could do the same thing with Ryuji that he just faked his death and went to prison. And would eventually be released by the police quietly.

Artur Sorokin I think it was for him to gloat. Takashima in my book is a cocky character as he wants to gloat before he finishes his intended victims. Good example is with Kaoru, gloat and bask in his victory before planning to shoot her in the back of the head.

I played Y0 first and I have no clue about Yakuza 2. And when Ryuji showed on Y0, I thought that he was Ryuji but I denied it because of the goofy substory.i ended up right and it was an awesome experience 😂

Hard to believe the guy stole pants as a kid

The tension in the room and in the bodies of Ryuji and his Henchmen when Kiryu tells them his name is like that of people who encounter Kakashi Hatake who is known as the copy ninja the man who copied a 1000/over a 1000 jutsu it just shows how big of a reputation they have for their respective deeds and skills. The fact that people show respect or fear or both eg when Kiryu and Kakashi encounter them shows how bad ass Kiryu and Kakashi are ♥ ♥ ♥

I loved this series so much...but despite that love I think I can only watch videos of it going forward...that’s why I liked the game so much anyways

Not saying he was completely right but I think it makes sense and isn't stupid when considering the way he grew up. Living in a fucked up environment will fuck you one way or another. Man thought his mother threw him away at such an early age, who could be there for him to trust? And his foster father never told him the truth, probably increasing his distrust already. Being shoved early in the yakuza life with a foster father who was a top Yakuza made him ostracized by it during childhood, even by his close friends. (you can see that in Yakuza 0). Yet he was strong enough to handle it, bullies were no match for him but he never had anyone he could call 'family', maybe his foster father but his relationship with him is somewhat vague and not to mention, Ryuji's mother ‘betrayal’ left a deep scar without a doubt. His obsession with becoming a “Dragons of all Dragons” is because he's too ambitious for his own good. He wishes to carve his own path by what he knows best during growing up: might is right. And to dominate the yakuza world. What else is there for him to do after being involved in it for so long? But despite all that, he still believes in integrity; refusing to take down Kiryu in his weak state and showing disdain on “scheming fucks” but ultimately, it's that same value that lets him get killed. Perhaps if he was treated with more love and wasn't involved in the yakuza, he would have a pleasant drink with Kiryu and sing 'judgment' with him but here? Only one Dragon may survive.

majimas saga was so short, it was an inuslt kinda lol. what would've spiced the story up is playing as ryuji and influencing the end by what choices you make as each character (kiryu and ryuji.) that would've been fun 😔 but we got fanservice, which was the Majima saga. still appreciative tho! and i also get that they're stickin to the original series, too.
