Yakuza: Dead Souls is an action-adventure survival horror video game, developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3. The game is the sixth installment in the Yakuza series. The game was originally scheduled for release in Japan on March 17, 2011 two days after the release of Yakuza 4 in North America; however, after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the release was indefinitely delayed. A new release date, setting the game's release for June 9, was announced on April 7. The game was also released in North America and Europe by Sega in March 2012

As weird as this game was, I’d actually love to see the Yakuza characters in a Fantasy fighting game. Just the idea of them fighting non-human opponents with their skills is really cool to me.

It like a story like retsu Kaiou's isekai where every likeable antagonist in the series suddenly wakes up in a fantastical world and then proceeds to beat the shit out of everything causing a problem.

Yeah, the way this game recontextualizes the classic Yakuza characters and setting for a wild Resident Evil style horror plot is pretty neat. I'd love to see them try their hand at it again sometime with something else like fantasy like you said, except this time with gameplay that's actually fun.

@@d.n5287 the retsu isekai is so fucking good and IDK why, it seems like a weird idea that makes no goddamn sense, but then the goblin nunchaku kick in and I think to myself "this was an incredible idea actually"
His arc is enough to make a grown man cry....

@@stacyaaa9471 Yeah, they never stated what happened to Ryuji after the fight, he might have passed out because the blood loss but ain't no way a few bullet can kill him, dude is built like a fucking tank. So i will just pretend that his intro in Dead Souls is canon, he quit the life of being a yakuza because "there can't be two dragons" and start working at a takoyaki shop, being a civilian for the rest of his life.
Poor Ryuji, he has no choice but to kill the man who taught him how to cook

@@joshuarobinson8529 I mean Kashiwagi shows up on the spirit camera but he is still alive as of Yakuza 7. I hope Ryuji doesn't make a return in Yakuza 8.

So, Tetsu Nikaido wants revenge against the ex 4th Chairman of the Tojo Clan Kazuma Kiryu for what he did to Ryuji Goda in the clash between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance. According to Ryuji Goda, the Omi Alliance expelled him that means he's no longer a Yakuza and Tetsu wants him back, but Ryuji said: "No" but Tetsu didn't like it. That bastard kidnapped Haruka to lure Kazuma Kiryu sums it up

The bullet wound he got in his arm got infected and had to be amputated. He says this in a cutscene
